Dear All, finally I have a great friendship between my rns-310 / fabia with can bus 1.6 / maxidot with navigation arrows. Iэму installed can adapter 5J0 035 751, right after installation of adapter navigation info from my RNS-310 appears on my old maxidot!!! Very happy with this. Main difference in behaviour between 315 and 310 that with rns-315 I can't manage a joystick under my steering wheel (only possible to change the volume), but with rns-310 all functions of joystick is OK.

I'm not sure how you're going to manage to get everything working, as the problems are too deep to be an easy fix really. Also, I'm not up to speed on the Bluetooth streaming functions either, as I use the Columbus with an SD card and the hard drive built in.  Keeps all my music on the unit and I don't need Bluetooth streaming.

 

Also, not sure on the Fabia navigation thing either, someone else might though.

Your steering wheel controls (joystick) won't work with the RNS315 because it's a completely different unit to the RNS310 and uses a different communication protocol.  Despite looking similar the two units are very different. The RNS310 uses DDP communication protocol which your car also does, but the RNS315 uses BAP protocol which your car doesn't use.

Hmm:( bad news. So you think it make no sence to continue with 315 installation? To be honest I just want to have A2DP bluetooth function to listen the music from my phone and nice sound quality. My old "Dance" device is really pure and together with original bluetooth car device can only be used for handsfree function but without A2DP protocol. By the way I saw some pictures on briskoda with the same ages fabia when navigation arrows are visible on the old version of Maxidot display, may you know how it was made? Thanks

Now thinking about to sell rest of my RNS devices to Europe, because your prices are much higher than in Russia.

Dear All, last week I have started to integrate RNS-315 in my fabia 2008 (can 1.6). It's really interesting that I could activate bluetooth only after extraction of both CAN wires from main plug. Today I will install can-bus adapter 1.6->2.0. Additionally my steering wheel joystick is not working with RNS-315, but properly working with RNS-310 (the same 315 but without integrated bluetooth function). Next step will be to disable my original bluetooth device because at the moment car is trying to find my phone which is already connected with RNS-315.

I know the Bluetooth will require one of two things, if you look on the back of the rns315 it will say MAC: - if it shows lots of 0000's go to option 2, if it shows numbers and letters go to option 1

 

Option 1 get someone with VCDS to go look at enabling the built in bluetooth adapter inside the unit, once this is active you will need a Microphone loom that sits in the light cluster in the roof of the car and plugs directly into the back of the rns315

 

Option 2 will require a seperate bluetooth unit that sits under the passenger seat and will also require a microphone loom that sits in the same place

 

Again the GPS arrows and compass direction on maxidot requires VCDS to tell the car that a satnav is plugged into the car,

 

I did all this on a 2012 VRS so it had the latest CAN version im unsure if the older canbus will stop the satnav talking to the rest of the car for things like maxidot, personally if you have someone near or have VCDS its the best thing to just plug in and see what works.

Dear all skoda owners, Greetings from Saint-Petersburg, Russia. I need your advice,I want to install rns-315 device in my fabia (2008) and faced with next problems. No indication of original park assist, additinally when I takee out a key from car rns doesn't switch off. Looks like it's a problem of can- I have 1.6 version but rns uses 2.0. Therefore I want to install can- adapter device. Next question is bluetooth function: in media tab I have bluetooth, but function is not active and with "phone" button I only can- mute the sound. How to activate it? Moreover on briskoda area I saw some snapshots with indication of gps arrows on the maxidot cluster of old version like with restyle version of maxidot- how to make it? Sorry in advance for such questions and for my English thank you.
