  1. Hi could you please forward me an update for my Amundsen - pic attached of current software I would need instructions too please I currently have Smartlink activated, presumably that will not be affected? Thanks in advance
  2. I suspect that if you go anywhere near a kerb then they'll be scratched anyway, laws of physics with 1.5 tonne car and rotating piece of aluminium. But cheaper to refurb powder coat than diamond cut.
  3. I had to prompt it and then re-prompt it, but they did it eventually.
  4. Here's a refurbed Anthracite one on ebay, I think the increase in diamond cut width is noticeable https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/GENUINE-SKODA-OCTAVIA-VRS-19-ALLOY-WHEEL-5E0601025AH-XTREM-ALLOY/362514856166?_trkparms=aid%3D777001%26algo%3DDISCO.FEED%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D20160801204525%26meid%3D84e1d2940aad4bb9b9e3ad20680f7680%26pid%3D100651%26rk%3D1%26rkt%3D1%26%26itm%3D362514856166&_trksid=p2481888.c100651.m4497&_trkparms=pageci%3A71c0b860-9390-11e9-adfa-74dbd18046f3|parentrq%3A765526a716b0aa12ec5c32bfffc7cab5|iid%3A2
  5. I think 'You have reached your limit' means you can only display 10 categories of POi's at any one time, presumably to avoid the display looking too cluttered.
  6. Mine had fused in the red area but it could be anywhere along the yellow track shown
  7. This worked on my MY2016 and is a useful function (don't know why it's not standard?) Drive Profile Display in Cluster Select Control unit 19 Control unit long coding Go to Byte 08 "Display for drive program functions in instrument cluster" Enable Bit 4 It only displays the drive mode in MFD for a few seconds each time after you change mode using vRS button. First press of button displays current mode.
  8. Glad to be helpful Sasha, no need for a drink as I've benefited from your advice/upgrade ideas on more than one occasion, That's what forums like this are for.
  9. I have recently solved a little issue where I was getting a knocking noise on some uneven road surfaces, which I initially thought was suspension related. I eventually realised that in-fact the nearside exhaust pipe was sometimes banging on the dummy pipe. Further investigation show the bracket/rubber exhaust hanger that side wasn't connected at the body end! I found that the bolt was missing from the bracket. When the car was new I'd complained that the two tail pipes were misaligned and the dealer had rectified this, but i suspect that they didn't re-tighten the bolt on that side after adjustment and it had eventually wound itself out and disappeared. I found a suitable bolt, tightened it all up and not only has the knocking noise gone the car is generally a lot quieter so i imagine the bracket was also vibrating on the body-shell causing general background noise which would be very difficult to pin point where it was coming from.
  10. I also managed to short out the rear light when installing LEDs with a metal collar, which meant the rear interior light wouldn't work from the door switch (the spots worked OK if manually turned on). I eventually realised the feed comes from the front courtesy light and expected to find a blown fuse or diode when I removed it. In fact the high current had burnt out a track on the PCB (see pics). I carefully remove the damaged part of the track and then tinned the remaining ends of the track are re-linked with tinned copper wire (you could attach a piece of wire to the solder joints at the ends of the damaged track instead). I then put in some LEDs with a short plastic body, reset the error code on OBDEleven (something like 'short to earth on lighting circuit') and all back to working Hope this helps anyone still the problem.
  11. Inbay Qi wireless charger now available for Oct 3 on Amazon ( & Ebay): https://www.amazon.co.uk/Inbay-smartphone-storage-compartment-Octavia/dp/B07B2YK2LW/ref=sr_1_37?ie=UTF8&qid=1524585009&sr=8-37&keywords=Octavia&dpID=51Vp0bsOCDL&preST=_SY300_QL70_&dpSrc=srch https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Inbay-storage-compartment-Qi-Charger-for-Skoda-Octavia-5E-Smartphone-wireless/352291444989?epid=12015574963&hash=item520634d8fd:g:zzYAAOSwE51alAkg
  12. Excellent - I have now attempted this and managed to combine (amalgamated) fixed cameras, Red Light Cameras and the National Trust site and compiled it with the VW Nav Companion successfully (The Skoda version seemed to dislike CSV files?) I'm very pleased with the result, thanks again Bigade1 for your help. p.s I also added the National Trust database to my portable Garmin (for use in other car), which I didn't know was possible until today
  13. Bigade1, how would I combine your camera database with one produced for National Trust properties (for instance)? as I believe each POI download to MIB clears the previous one?
  14. Brilliant, thanks again Bigade1 April 2018 done succesfully If i do the next map update (May/June) presumably I have to re-install the POI database afterwards?
  15. I think you have to install the optional extra M.I.L. (Mother-in-Law) in the caravan to optimise stability
  16. I think the diff is only OK up to 150mph whilst towing a caravan!
  17. No error as they are classed as interior lights and therefore not monitored.
  18. I bought these from Ebay to replace the incandescent bulb ones: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2x-Error-Free-LED-Side-Mirror-Puddle-Light-For-skoda-Octavia-Mk3-5E-2012-2017/322544502957?hash=item4b192688ad:g:dB0AAOSww9xZNlKv (about 2 weeks delivery from China). Fitting was as per Superskoda video and didn't even need the modification as they have a groove which sits inside the lip on the mirror cut-out. As mentioned elsewhere you have to be a bit brave when removing the mirror but is ok if you take your time. They are nice and bright and a very worthwhile mod if you already have puddle lights. I decided to turn off the CH/LH headlights for now as in most situations these give enough light, but I might set CH/LH up for LED running lights without headlights when I do some OBDEleven changes later.
  19. I was investigating what mods to do when I get my OBDeleven and I wondered about one of the apps - Heated Seat Memory. I had the feeling my Pre-FL vRS230 did it anyway. I've actually paid some attention today whilst doing some stop/start driving and proved that it remembers for the heated seat setting for at least 10 mins after switching off BUT only on the drivers side. The passenger side switches off and stays off after switching off ignition. I think this is good setting as otherwise you may not be aware that the passenger seat was still on after a short stop in which the passenger disembarked. I don't know if there's an option to enable memory on the passenger side too but I'm happy with the way it works as it seems to be a sensible configuration as it is. I'll try and remember to check when doing longer stops to determine when the drivers side memory times out (2 hours maybe?)
