  1. Hi,

I bought a higline RVC (5TA827566B) to retrofit to my S3. After much struggling I found out on ross-tech forums that the camera was not initialised and needs to be and this cannot be done from VCDS. Does anyone know how I might do this? Been over 6 months now and now the summer is here the kids play in the driveway and that freaks me out!

    Thanks!

  2. They sold it claiming VCDS was all that was needed. Anyways the issue here is the lack of response. It took me 2 weeks to get a response form my first 10 emails. Then I got give instructions for how to install it with VCDS from them. When I replied over a week ago they sent in last couple days saying (and I am quoting!) -

"Hi You need go to VW dealer for on-line. On-line system will load sw to camera. Or you need vcp vag Can programmer"

So why send me the instructions in the first place etc?

Anyways - I am going to try and source someone to do it for me. I just wish it was not the best part of 3 months trying to get it going.

  3. Hi all,

I bought a highline rear view camera (http://www.cars-equipment.com/www/en/shop/rear-view-cameras-12/oem-rvc-mqb-rear-view-camera/) from this site. I installed it but it is not coded. I have mailed these guys multiple times and have not got a response. Just flat out ignoring me!

Does anyone know if I have any legal recourse etc?

    Thanks.

  4. I get a black screen when I go into reverse now (plus the OPS on the side). I guess that means the video feed but I have that cabled into the blue connector using pins 6 + 12.

Also I used the CAN on the grey connector for high and low and the power from the main power to the head unit. The handle works in the boot so power seems fine.

  5. You find it in the radio unit socket. Be careful, there are 2 different can's - engine and infotrainment. You need to connect to correct one twistd pair - orange/violet (CANH) and ornage/brown (CANL). In the same socket You have power (red and brown) and in blue small socket pin no 6 is for the signal and 12 is for shield.

Thank you! I found them by trawling through google for about 2 hours on Russian sites.

  6. Hi all,

I'm trying to figure out the cabling for a highline 5TA827566E. It has the standard 2 pin Video connection that goes into the blue plug in back of the glove box. It has 4 other cables that i assume are power related.

There is a orange, black, red and brown cable.  I have all cables routed to the front at the moment.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  7. So I eventually got around to this. I have fitted the camera and now have the cable ends at back of glove box. Not sure what connections I need now as I have lost any original docs I may have had and the company has not answered me in over 2-3 weeks.

    The camera was : http://www.cars-equipment.com/www/en/shop/rear-view-cameras/oem-rvc-mqb-rear-view-camera/

So can anyone help me with the connections?

I'm assuming the 2 crimped connection (2nd and 3rd from right in the pic) go to pins 6 and 12 on the blue block at back of DVD unit. Not sure on rest. I assume I need a +12v and a GND, maybe a control cable.

    Appreciate any help.

    Thanks.

Not sure that pic attached right. http://picpaste.com/2016-12-28_16.19.00_HDR-fQQryZvI.jpg
