  1. And yet they seem to be prepared to turn the Karoq into a Vrs - https://www.autocar.co.uk/car-news/new-cars/skoda-eyes-karoq-vrs-rival-seat-ateca-cupra What a waste. Same theoretical clash, along with the new VW T-Roc (supposedly getting an R version).
  2. True that. The more you look at it the more you notice. Still bugs me that they didn't match top and bottom. I'll give it some thought. Be good to hear from anyone that has a facelift model and has fitted the upper honeycomb.
  3. Aha, I'm thinking of getting it for my birthday in June. Depends on money though. If i do i'll post some up though. Cars i've seen with it look sweet though. Don't know why they had different grills for upper and lower to start with. So silly.
  4. Hi all, I'm looking to replace the vertical slat upper grill on my 2012 fabia vrs with the honeycomb style one so that it matches the bottom, however Superskoda only list one for the pre-facelift 10/11. For those that have done it, does the pre-facelift one from Superskoda still fit, and if not, can anyone advise where to get one from? Thanks, Benji.
  5. Agreed, it's only the 1st episode of another attempt at making people enjoy it again. Plenty of time for things to develop. It felt far more relaxed and chilled than S1. The VT bits were genuinely enjoyable and they all seemed to get on well. The studio bits will take longer to feel less forced I think, but it's clearly a work in progress, and progress does seem to be being made.
  6. I've got the same paddle extensions on my own. They look so smart. Wish they'd come as standard from factory!
  7. Hi all, Sorry to bring this whole mudflap debate up again but hopefully it's an easy one. Would someone be able to shed any light as to what size torx I'll need? Seen loads of posts on the fitting but none specify size, and want to check before buying. Thanks, Benji.
  8. I think it's more luck of the draw than that. Mines a 2012 and hasn't had any issues. But I've read a lot of things around where various ages have been hit by the oil issue.
  9. The ST Line trim has replaced Zetec S. It's just part of their global rebranding. It's a milder ST. Can spec them with 150ps, and they're nippy 1l turbos. For the people that want something fun and sprightly but still want the sub £100 road tax and good mpg. Zetec basically just adds extra kit and styling, but nothing to the performance.
  10. And yet most of the people I get cut up by seem to be British...
  11. Best decision I made. Again, for sport and work it made life so much easier wearing contacts. Putting them in/taking out becomes second nature too. Once you work out a way that's easy you really can do it in seconds.
  12. I have a 2012 with a CAVE engine, and it's now ticked over to about 35k miles and I haven't had any issues with oil or DSG. I've done a few thousand of those in the last couple of months and haven't had to touch the oil at all. By the looks of it, it's a bit hit and miss as to whether you'll get a good'un or a dud. But as previously said, extended warranty is the best thing you can get. The car is a dream to drive. DSG is responsive and reacts well to downshifts, plus sport mode will rev until the world ends. Plus, you can sit at 60/70mph and still get high mpg figures.
  13. I had exactly the same thing with my previous car. Mondeo ST220 from a small dealership in Bournemouth, promised a full service before purchase, but didn't disclose a lot of work including suspension, dodgy lights, the need for a new air-con system (current one had a hole in the condensor and a split pipe) and a massive amount of corrosion in the engine bay. Returned it for refund within 30 days, and 3 days later it was back on their website for the same price. No mention of my keeping it at all. Fear for the poor sod who picks it up next, especially if he/she asks them to 'fully service' it. Cowboys...
  14. Hi all, Does anyone have any solid recommendations for in car phone mounts/holders that work well with mk2 Fabia? Looking at getting one because the cup holder is just a little too far away if I want to skip a song for music etc, plus with the Bluetooth connectivity, it'd be nice to be able to view the screen more easily. Also gives me the option of using phone as a sat-nav if needs be. It also doesn't necessarily need to be a charging mount, but if it is and it isn't overly expensive then great. Phone is a Sony Xperia Z3 Compact (magnetic charging port doesn't work however). I've seen a few here and there that look good, but with things like this I find user reviews much more informative. Any personal recommendations/experiences would be greatly appreciated.
