  1. The absolute best tires in my opinion are the Goodyear Eagle Asymmetric 3. Have them on my vRS and drove the Tuscany with all its hairpin curves and ups and downs quite hard. The grip is insanse, you can almost launch the car at full throttle when the tires are warm (12+ degrees ambient temps). https://www.facebook.com/djtstylestefan.eisele/videos/2165985210094312/? Was driving around ~130 km/h in the first part of the video.
  2. I remember my cthe build in July 2014 does the same when driving a long distance (e. g. 150 km) with around 120 km/h and cruise control on and suddenly accelerating with max throttle. It accelerates just for a split second, suddenly stops accelerating like I completely removed my foot from the pedal and starts accelerating again. Since I'm driving like having fire under my pants I'm in general not experiencing any misfire only when driving long ways (holiday etc). I rather think it's because of the stock ecu map. When driving slowly for a long time the ecu let the engine run quite lean. So when accelerating hard the engine has so run very rich, which I think its the combination of the ecu map and spark plugs and the very short time between running lean and rich, resulting in a misfire. I change my spark plugs every 15.000 km and 0 oil usage. I can avoid this behaviour when max accelerating in 7th gear at low revs for a couple of times and it won't misfire later no matter what gear or revs I am staying.
  3. Why not a petrol one? They are quite reliable and don't failure very often (e.g. Monte Carlo 1.2 TSI). Do a market research, I don't think the Diesel will stand out any much longer or expect some high drop in value. Munich for example, is already debating for banning Diesel cars out of the city.
  4. Not sure if it's THAT high grip european tarmac. It just was a road in Germany lol. TC is cutting power a lot. You'll feel that when accelerating and turning it off while accelerating but only on low gears where the car would wheel spin. Shortshifting indeed has it's effect. When shortshifting I am quicker to 60mph but the gap to 0-100 km/h or say those least 2.5 mph is bigger. Usually the gap is around 0.1 to max. 0.2 seconds but here, as you may see in the picture I've posted, the gap is much bigger, almost 0.4 seconds lol. With some even better tyres (Yokohama, Semi Slicks) I have (Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 3) I guess I am able to get below 6.0 seconds to 60 mph, maybe 5.95 or something like that. Had a little bit wheel spin on first gear. I am recommending the 34H5 gearbox service campaign. Car's shifting now a lot of faster: https://streamable.com/e5wm6 https://streamable.com/1ggd6 Cheers Edit: Ha, had a good idea. How about talking to a tuner who knows how to remap a Twincharger and saying to him he should limit the revs to 6.200 rpms just for gear 1 to 3 :-)
  5. Umm.... Go to "realtime informations", press and hold your finger on the screen and add a display. Now navigate to "Digital Display" and press on it. There you're able to choose whatever times you want.
  6. Measured my 0-100 km/h again and good some super figures :-). Changed my tyres to goodyear eagle f1 asymm. 3 (highly recommending it), and installed a k&n sportsfilter. Engine's completly stock. CTHE.
  7. When driving in town, just make sure to not to let the car revv under 2.000 rpms. Interestingly the engine consumes oil when keeping the rpms under 2.000 rpms. Don't ask me why as my vocabulary is limited aswell as my technical knowledge - lol.
  8. Huh? 6.6 is something I get with my standard CTHE vrs. You're sure your tuning chip is on?
  9. @OzFabia, similiar to the noise I had? vid.me/3PS3 Sadly my Skoda dealer won't change / repair anything related to this noise since the noise never happens when the technician's there.
  10. What tyre pressure would you suggest when having the rear weights plus the rear seats removed, Awayoffski? Lowering or putting more in it? I do have 250kpa as standard.
  11. I see, but aren't those "non life threatening" issues done silently when you bring your car for servicing? However, I didn't got informed officially, it was done silently aswell. Had to asked the technician itself, otherwise he hadn't said anything about this issue to me - lol.
  12. Well actually it's not overheating as you may see in the russian website which explains the issue very well. It's just the pressure getting to high. And no, as far as I know it's not related to the Mineral Oil campaign but since every 7-Speed dq 200 DSG should have the campaign "34F7" done, I clearly don't get your point here :-). Edit: Ah, I see. Well, I was not affected by the Mineral Oil campaign, since my VRS is made in August 2014. But not sure if you NEED to have the 34F7 done first and then they update your DSG gearbox again with the 34H5 campaign. Edit 2: """Maybe just my imagination, but heard from people when wanting to pull away from junctions, the DSG 7-speed sometimes didn't engaged. That could be related to the issue""" Here's the translation of the russian site: Quote: Technical rationale: On cars with a 7-speed DSG gearbox may be that because of the high pressure in the hydraulic pressure can cause damage to the battery. This leads to leaks in the system and integrating the signal lamp. • What the fault / damage have cars, which are covered by service activities? It may be leaking pressure accumulator 7-speed DSG gearbox. • What is the cause of the fault? In operation the high pressure in the hydraulic system can cause high stress and thus fatigue damage to the pressure accumulator. • What are the manifestations and consequences of failure? Damage first appears as hairline cracks and lead to leaks. This does not affect the possibility of movement, but the warning light illuminates in the instrument cluster. • What kind of car concerns the fault / damage? Vehicles with 7-speed DSG gearbox. • The occurrence of the fault is possible on any car? No, it affected only one gearbox manufacturer. Cars with a 7-speed DSG gearbox covered by this measure are made from January 2013 to August 2015. • Is it possible to continue to operate the vehicle before the repair work? Yes, the car can be used prior to the inspection / repair. • Is there a risk to the vehicle users? No, but this refusal leads to customer complaints. • Have been customer complaints about this error? Yes already known several such cases. • What specifically will be repaired in the car? Cars will receive updated software gearbox, which reduces the maximum pressure in the hydraulic system. • Can the driver to recognize the malfunction? Yes, the warning lamp lights up when this fault. • How long does it take inspection and repairs? Repairing a car lasts about 45 minutes. • Do mobility warranty applies? No, in this case, the mobility guarantee is not applicable. • Do check / repair is carried out on the entire territory of Russia, as well as in other European countries? Yes, all the Škoda dealers in Russia and in Europe informed If you are the owner of this transmission, please contact ML in your city and ask for and check your vehicle to a service share. I can say that my car was hit by this action and the successful firmware update has been completed. I can say that the work of the PPC has become very pleasant, words can not describe, you need to go, to feel. All peace and good! ---- Cheers
  13. Source is the german skodacommunity, where people went to the skoda dealer and asked for what the DSG update actually does. There are numerous threads. https://www.skodacommunity.de/threads/softwareupdate-fuer-dsg.112672/ https://www.skodacommunity.de/threads/rueckrufaktion-fuer-octavia-3-7-gang-dsg-aktion-34h5.112329/ Here's a russian site which explains the issue a little bit better (translator needed if you don't know russian) -> https://www.drive2.ru/l/464525796745150999/ Even I got informed yesterday by a Skoda technician that the update's for lowering the system pressure in the DSG gearbox. So thats enough information for me to believe that this update is solving a DSG issue (which I clearly didn't had in any way). Cheers
  14. Due to an issue in the DSG-7-Speed software, abnormal overpressure could cause losing liquids (not sure which liquid is to be meant) and a faulty or non-working DSG gearbox. This update is going to reduce the overall systempressure. All costs should be covered by Skoda. Cheers
  15. Sure, 5 liter is enough. The car takes maximum 3.6 liter, so keep the rest.
