  1. The rears are seemingly prone to the seals swelling inside and seizing the pistons.

I had bother with mine and got two new ones (OEM TRW) to replace them off eBay.

can't seem to find a cheap..ish pait I think the best iv seen is £175 for both rears on ebay. May have to pick them up if this clean/service of the rear doesn't work out
  2. Remove the caliper, pull out the pads, and clean and dress everything up, particulary the carrier and pads. You will need a small file. The build up of corrosion and solidified brake dust cement on the carrier and pad edges stops the caliper moving freely. Tap off /scrape off rust around the disc edge.

Wind the piston back a bit, reinsert pads, lubricate the sliding surfaces on the carrier/pads with ceratec brake grease lightly. Refit the caliper.

Its a 20-30 min job that should be done every major service.

I'll jump on that to day! Thank you

  3. ok so getting alot of heat from my rear caliper and sticking so im going to try replace the sliders and seals so has any got links to these kits dont want to order the wrong ones and have the car off he road? thanks in advance these are what iv found? p.s there for the rear vrs 56 plate tfsi  http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/REAR-BRAKE-CALIPER-SLIDER-PIN-KIT-GUIDES-SKODA-OCTAVIA-TRW-VERSION-/321929668037?hash=item4af480e5c5:g:Tr4AAOSwv-NWVDfB

  4. Ok so driving along and seen the light pop up on the dash door was open to while driving pulled the door to see if it would shut but the handle came off in my hand and the switch into loads of pieces across the car!anyone had this happen to them? Was abit shocked at the time haha on the up side the switches where worn and looking tacky so anyone know if the chrome ones off the golf mk5 will fit? They look very simple ps it's for the front only (winders on the rear)

  6. Awesome, I've not got an engine cover so that's one less step lol.

Cleaning my inlet valves, doing the HPFP cam follower and injector seals at he weekend so might leave it till the end of the month but seems like my kinda mod.[/quote

Yeah man do it in one wack. Think you only had to remove the engine cover to move the air inlet out the way? Be nice to take away some of that throw that's on the vrs atm. Good look man I'm I'll be doing it aswell

  7. I used the supplied lube and then silicone spray in the cavity and it pushed in no problem at all.

I too had a fully bushed dogbone on my LCR and it made a buffer difference than this but as you say it's a different set up plus this is only the rear bush.

Yeah deffo. Just took this for a spin and not a big differnce and no vibrations only in reverse but again nothing major. Short shifter next, did I hear some one mention it will fit out of an sline or tt something like that?

  8. I fitted a yellow powerflex one last weekend and can't say I've honestly noticed much of a difference except less of a judder when coming off the throttle when driving hard.

There is slight vibration through the weel when reversing but that's about it.

hmm its a yellow one im fitting to day, had a yellow one on my dog bone on my old lcr and did notice the difference but all cars are different and that was a different style of bush so im hoping i will see a change in this one

  9. I had a red diesel dogbone bush in my old mk1 4x4 1.8t octavia and no vibrations,

i also had a purple one fitted to my old mk1 vrs and this gave vibrations on tickover never again,

so i would say red is the middle ground or yellow is standard softness .[/quote

Yeah I ordered a yellow one just had it waiting on the torqe wrench atm anyone know the correct torqe for the bolt? Cheers in advance
