  1. When the seats lower it feels like its tilted back more than higher but maybe I'm imagining that. I tried it higher this morning and back a notch, still not right. Now the steering wheel blocks the view of the dials on the dash and the gear shift feels like i have to bend over to left a bit to change... I've dropped it a bit and moved back another notch... Its a bit of stretch to get at the touch screen but doable. I think its the first car I've had where I've struggled to get a good position. There must be one that works.. Maybe they designed it for very small people?!!
  2. 5'9" i guess. Nothing in the back pockets! I'll give it a go again in the morning, I have lifted the seat, it does feel quite high now. I think with moving the seat back and pulling the steering wheel forward it has in affect lifted the steering wheel some what because of the upward angle. Managed to get out without the legs bashing into the steering wheel. In the old position i found myself slumping in the seat after a while, bit like sitting on an old sofa where the cushions have all gone soft. I get problems with the SI joint and i had a lower disc play up earlier in the year, that wasn't very nice. Had to lay on the floor for over a week... Its been triggering that off again.
  3. Had the new car for about a month now. I've been struggling to get the drivers seat adjusted into a position where my back doesn't start to play up after an extended drive. I found when i first got the car i had to drop the seat down which kinda kicks it back at an angle which i think is the problem with me. I did that as my legs would hit the steering wheel getting in and out. Its like i needed to lift up the steering wheel but its already at the highest adjustment limit. I've tried lifting the seat today, sliding back a few notches and pulled the steering wheel forward Have to see how i get on with it. Anyone else had problems with this? I didn't have this problem at all with the mk2 Fabia.
  4. Interesting the compressor doesn't use an electric clutch. So is it the case that it makes no real difference to mpg being on or off? Is there there another mechanism that removed the extra load? I've found mine has been fogging up as well. The old mk2 Fabia was the same I think it doesn't help that water from the roof can drip down into the cabin when you open the doors. I have found in the past just cracking the windows open on a warmer sunny day is enough to get the humidity down. Its a constant battle through in the winter. Also keeping the glass really clean seems to help, if its greasy it seems to make the problem worse. Or i should say makes it much harder to get clear, that's what I've found anyway.
  5. Yep, it's not up to it. I'd probably get the hump with it and launch it somewhere.... Works good as a phone though!
  6. Its a Samsung Galaxy Ace 3 GT-S7275R. I guess very like that one in the link. Mine will do 4G though. It does have GPS. Just a waste of time trying to use any apps on it, it works as a phone though and it does connect to the bluetooth hands free in the car...
  7. Hi all Been having fun trying to get the Amundsen unit to play and recognise tagging ID's with FLAC's. I've pretty much got it worked out now after a few discoveries along the way... What i can't find out easily is why i can't see all the albums displayed on a USB thumb drive after you select the album art on the current selected album which allows you to horizontally scroll the available albums. Its like there's a limit to how many it can display although if i go in manually and browse the folders all content is there to play. I'm not sure if the same happens with mp3, I'm mainly FLAC these days as that's what i use in the house with the NAS drives. So if there is a limit how do i display the ones i want to be available when using it like that? I've tried selecting different sort modes, playlist, album, artist etc. Doesn't seem to have any effect. Actually I'm not 100% sure which version of the Amundsen i have, its on the new Fabia 2019 1L TSI SE L model. Would it be called a Bolero?? I've attached a pic off the web that looks like mine Cheers
  8. I'm not sure, i think Its an ACE3 GT-7275 Its probably got GPS in there. It does support 4G.... I really should buy a more modern phone, its completely useless trying to use data on it.....
  9. Might have a look one day, if the phone gets updated! Would be nice if the supplied and paid for Satnav had a few more function then i guess. I have found the Skoda update site, at least get free map updates i guess. (I think...)
  10. So its using the GPS on the phone then? I'm a bit old school don't have a modern up to date mobile! Managed to get the old Samsung to bluetooth to the car though so the hands free works. The speed warning i just find helps on long journeys, just as a reminder. Like you say it doesn't help on these stupid smart motorways though with variable limits for example. Cheers
  11. Cheers guys, life got in the way last few weeks... Seems like its would have to be a software update to enable this. I don't know why you wouldn't implement this function seeing as the car has all the other information / safety features. Guess with the speed display, it will display the current speed in digit format just not linked to what the satnav thinks your doing. (i guess that's right...) I think I'm going to set the Garmin up one day just to check how accurate the speedo is. That will warn me if i exceed the limit as well but i don't want to have to keep setting up that just for that function. Its more for longer journeys were i don't know the roads very well. Not looked into the Android Auto stuff yet, guess you need network data connection for that to work.
  12. Hi All Still getting to know my way around the new 2019 Fabia. With the satnav is there away to get it to warn you if you exceed the speed limit on the current road? I have a Garmin and that unit will warn you if you exceed the limit which i find really useful. I can't see any setting that might enable audible or visual warnings. It does display the speed limit but it seems to be a general guide. I say that as I've seen 50 & 60 speed limits displayed at the same time so not very useful to be honest!
  13. Ok thanks, I'll give it try. I guess once your done, make sure wipers are back on the windscreen and they park up after turning ignition back on again.
  14. I tried it this morning, just pressing the start button without depressing the clutch gets the ignition up. Kinda how you would think it would work really. Next need to work out how to get the front wipers in the maintenance position as you can't lift them up when parked. I read you have to switch the ignition on then off then hold the wiper stalk down or something. Not sure if that applies to the keyless ignition, i guess so.
  15. I'll have a look, not had much time other than quick flicks through the paper manual as things come up. One thing, does a quick press of the start button turn the ignition on? I was wondering how you turn the ignition on without turning over.
  16. I'll try and have a read up over the weekend. There's quite a lot of stuff to learn about this car, I'm not used to the level of tech on board.
  17. Mine looks like pic below. I guess i could try ejecting the Nav SD card and see if it still works. Its not so bad as I've got a 64GB USB low profile thumb drive in the front slot for music which works fine. Got the manual and 2nd key today, i had been looking through the PDF version but a printed manual is a bit easier sometimes. They seem to of stopped giving out the service history log books, guy said they stopped that a while back. Might have to get a generic one for them to stamp. I guess its all on the database these days...
  18. Yeah same, for the music collection. 2 slots in the glove compartment would be useful. I'm sure i saw a pic with 2 USB in the centre console next to the cigarette lighter socket. Also seems there's a head unit which has an SD slot on the front, not my unit though. I'm glad it plays FLACs & wavs. Do you know if there's a separate manual for the Infotainment? I'm still waiting for the spare key and the manuals...... Cheers
  19. Hi All Just trying to find the card sockets SD or USB on the new Fabia SE LS So there's an SD card slot in the glove compartment which has the SatNav card installed. Only USB socket i can see is next the the cigarette lighter. Is that all we get as standard or are there any others hidden? I know there's an option for 2 USB sockets in the rear but i guess they're charging only and no data. I guess if i need to charge anything can plug a cigarette socket USB charger in if that's all there is. Is there a separate manual for the Infotainment system or all in the main user manual? (still waiting for spare key and manuals from dealer....)
  20. Ok thanks, that's what i thought you meant. I'm used to the 1.2 105PS in the mk2 Fabia, 3rd gear has a wide usable range so i guess i might have to start changing down into second to get the revs up a bit if the 1L doesn't have as much grunt lower down.
  21. Sorry can you elaborate a bit on what you mean by keeping the engine spinning freely using the gearbox?
