  1. I forgot to try it today on the shopping run, I'll try and remember next time i start it. Been trying to add the speed cameras POI today but my satnav doesn't eat it. managed to update the maps though so some progress.... Looks like a right old faff to import POI's, well generating a compatible file anyway. I don't profess to understand the process at all yet though!
  2. Cheers, don't think I've tried the button on the dash. I guess it toggles locking / unlocking of all doors? Looking at the button it suggests just locking. I did read on another thread about that button. Will be out in it tomorrow so will have go again, also update the maps and try the camera POI i found without bricking it...!
  3. Just checked with my VIN on the Skoda update portal and other than map data there are no other updates for the car. I guess i have to remove the NAV SD card, format it and copy the downloaded files as unpacked into the root? Think I'll take an image of the card before attempting anything....
  4. Hi, cheers for the reply. I never know what model they call them, I've always found it confusing. I think its a Amundsen, mines the 2019 model so what was ever fitted to that. Model: Fabia 1L TSI 110PS 2019 Also i use playlists a lot and been careful to format / tag everything the same. Its seems to get confused sometimes and not pickup on the playlist or jump tracks half way through. All very random though. I'll try and get a pic of the firmware version. I've not updated the sat nav maps either since i brought it, i stopped looking after a while as there didn't seem to be any updates. I can't even remember where I went to check for updates... I think i must of registered online on Skoda's website, guess i have a link for it somewhere... Its not the Kessy version, which is better for me. I've never really got my head around the boot locking thing, its always caught me out as first car I ever owned where you can't open with the engine running. If i remember i will open it then start the car depending on what I'm up to. The manual seems to suggest it disables opening while setting off or over 5km/h. Maybe I'll try making sure the drivers door is closed with engine is running while stationary, then open the door and try the boot. That's what the manual seems to suggest... Looks like this.
  5. Anyone else notice their infotainment system on a go slow and unresponsive on the touch screen. Mine seems to be getting worse when using the stereo side of it, it never used to be like that. The screen seems ok though as if i drop into nav mode or other touch screen works fine. I've never updated the firmware on the car, can i do that over WiFi or has to be with USB / SD card? Also is there a way to unlock the boot while the engine is running? Drives me nuts you can't open it, i usually dive in the back and release the rear seat forward to get in the boot.... Does that lock button on the dash work with the boot? Cheers
  6. You can get a CR2032 in there OK then? I just changed the battery in my keyfob, a CR2032 just felt way too tight and didn't want to force it in there. So fitted a CR2025 instead as per original.
  7. I was just going to post about the battery. I've just changed mine as it was nagging me to do so. I read you can get a CR2032 in there but seems way to tight and didn't want to force it in there so settled on a CR2025 as original. Battery didn't seem that flat, measured around 2.99V.
  8. Mines the 2019 SE L 1L Suppose the screen is a bit buried, under the car menu if i recall correctly. I think i had to get to it from the bottom selection tab and maybe cursor over to the next page.....
  9. I've got 2 pressure gauges in the boot, for a sanity check as they're both cheapo jobs.
  10. Yes you are 100% correct. Classic is when you've had a tyre repaired / replaced, they seem to pump them up really high. I pumped all mine to 31PSI and reset the TPMS before i dropped it off for its first service yesterday. I will check them again, but i have bad knees and my backs gone today!!!!
  11. It does if i interpreted the screen graphic correctly. It highlights which wheels have an issue (or not...!) Mine came up with the passenger side, front / rear.
  12. Yeah I've been a bit rubbish checking the tyre pressures, totally my bad. I'm normally on the case but maybe not weekly, It helps knowing how it works anyway. Having looked into it a bit more i see those pressure sensing valves are still a thing again. Nice info to have but more to go wrong.... I know the car better after a year but I've not looked at all the functions available since i first got it. I just get in it and drive. Best bit for me is the stereo, having all my music on tap off the USB is great with all the tagging / playlists and it plays FLAC's A few annoying things it does, like not being able to unlock the boot while the engines running being one. Unless there's a setting for that? And i wish you could toggle the auto start / stop and it remember the preference. Oh, and the rain pouring off the roof straight into the foot well when you open the door and get in it. It even does it with the window down, door trim gets soaked....
  13. I see, that's good news for the wallet i guess!! What does it use / how does it measure things then? Some kind of sensor per wheel on the body work somewhere? All 4 look like there still up and pretty much where i pumped then up to earlier. Temps have cooled off a bit now so might of dropped slightly. The TPMS didn't trigger (yet) so like you say would have to be a few PSI to flag a warning. Maybe they were a bit too low so the tyre deformed to much. 30 down to 26 would be the 4 PSI you mention if its clever enough to know that. I'm not sure that it is? I've just read on a random kodiaq forum that it measures the rotational speed of each wheel, maybe using the ABS sensor? It seems they had random triggering and couldn't find anything wrong. Reset TPMS and problem goes away. Even talking about triggering on the difference between cold vs hot, but that would have to be a crazy change of PSI i would think!! Just a bit unnerving it flashing while driving. Hopefully all is well then, find out in the morning.... Cheers
  14. Hi guys. So driving home on the back roads earlier i get a tyre pressure warning come up. Looks like 2 tyres both on the passenger side, at first i thought it was all 4!! Thing is I've never set the tyre pressure set point in the car status menu but it still seems to be keeping an eye on them regardless which is to be expected i guess. So I've been round all 4 and got them a 30 PSI (they all showed around 26.... my bad...) Will check a bit later if anything has dropped. So if it turns out that i do indeed have 2 punctures and have to get it sorted whats the deal with the valves? I've never owned a car that had tyre pressure monitoring before!! Would they need replacing like they normally used to do with old school valves when you had tyres changed? How are those pressure sensing valves powered? Whats the pressure window of values that trigger a drop? 1/2/3 PSI? Cars in for its first service in the morning just to add to the chaos... Cheers
  15. Hi All Just trying to find the card sockets SD or USB on the new Fabia SE LS So there's an SD card slot in the glove compartment which has the SatNav card installed. Only USB socket i can see is next the the cigarette lighter. Is that all we get as standard or are there any others hidden? I know there's an option for 2 USB sockets in the rear but i guess they're charging only and no data. I guess if i need to charge anything can plug a cigarette socket USB charger in if that's all there is. Is there a separate manual for the Infotainment system or all in the main user manual? (still waiting for spare key and manuals from dealer....)
