After a 2 year stint in a 2014 Audi A1 TFSI were back into a 2015 Skoda Fabia 1.6TDI Elegance 5 speed manual 105bhp Audi was nice but interior is a lot smaller than a fabia, local car with 28k miles with history, cam belt water pump and coolant just done Drives nice a lot quiter than my previous Fabia 1.9 tdi, no where as punchy at 1800rpm where the PD took up, but all the 16v ones 2 ltr included need a few more revs to come into their own The journey begins.

With the lock assembly at around the £155 and a total door strip I can work around it lol

My boot is playing up due the the microswitch in the drivers door lock playing up, so I did the conversion to a manual boot twin lever arrangement like the comfort trim level on my Ambient this afternoon, hardest part is getting the inner sill trim up, but once thats done its a straight forward job. Here are the part numbers of the bits required Handle s6y2827261ab41 Handle s6y827261b41 Twin Levers s6y2827611 Skoda call it a gear ? Cable s6y6827532c Strangely enough the Boot release handle required a bit of the underside dremeling off, I can only assume the sill trim on the comfort is different, its only about 6mm needs removing so not very much, otherwise the handle touches the sill trim, before it slides on, had to make a saddle to stop the nipple on the cable going through the lever in the boot, must be a plastic retaining clip which we missed ordering the bits. The trim plate needs the end removed to fit between the levers beside the drivers seat and thats a quick job. Boot now open on the lever as designed in the lesser trim levels.

White in mine and the o.e replacement were white from my Main Dealer, what ever the colour get new ones lol

Genuine I'm afraid mine went about this time last year, no left window or drivers whip the fuses out mentioned and it would work once till switched off, module on the drivers motor controls both fronts, new motor and sorted but £170 lighter, if you order one then get the white door panel trim clips they break off.
-
Same problem as mine had, replaced the motor sorted, its the module in the drivers motor, be aware there are 2 different types, 2 plug and 3 plug, later mk1s like my 2006 are 2 plug
-
Its the module on the motor playing up, mine did the same, cut the power and all working shut the key off and no windows working upon switching back on, replaced the motor in mine sorted

Wiper blades. But which way round ?

Old post but found the same with my new ones today clips set for L/H/D, sorted thanks again -
If anyone is going to do the job of removing the door panel then order up some white panel retaining clips, as they get brittle and the heads come off, i had some in stock so not a issue. Motor in and working windows again which feels right.

Ordered a new motor this afternoon can't do with the windows not working. Going to take mine apart and see if I can see whats causing them to play up, obviously on the circuit board somewhere.
-
Seems I spoke to soon !! no windows this afternoon.

Well the Fabia told me this morning that Spring has arrived by switching my electric windows back on again!, like others here it needs a Drivers Window Motor at the module doesn't like the winter months Late November-2nd Week March. Got in this morning and as soon as i powered up I heard a chunk like the motor kicked in and sure enough presto working windows even after powering down the ignition and powering up again. Odd why the module goes awol in the cold months, must be somewhere on the circuit in the module? I did read by somewhere here its the car saying jokingly on your behalf "Nope its to cold to have th window down" which made me laugh O well that gives me a bit of breathing space to find a motor without spending £150 at the dealers.

Can I ask what size radio The Team use ? I'm a Radio Amateur and have a 2m radio setup in my Fabia, the radio is capable of 50watts and is no bigger than a Radio/Cd, You can get a HF Radio not much bigger, older equipment used to be massive in size, are they using older gear ?
