  1. Hi So as the title says I've got a squeak from my front suspension. I changed the strut, spring, tie rod and track rod end in May for the MOT a few months later it developed a squeak. I thought it could be the bottom ball joint so I've now replaced that however the squeak is still there. It mostly happens when turning right and going over any kind of bump. Also happens more often once the car is warmed up. Is there anyone who has had similar problems Thanks
  2. Thanks for all the ideas. I was eventually able to get through the bolt heads with a mixture of junior hacksaw blades, a ginder and brute force. Just need to remove the old track rod end then I can start to build it all back up with new parts.
  3. Thanks for the advice. Looks like it's cutting the heads off the bolts then. I had thought this going to have to happen.
  4. There are nuts on the end of the bolts in the inside. I just wasn't able to get good enough a grip on them. I was hoping I was maybe missing a trick or something.
  5. Hi guys. I'm hoping that someone might be able to help me out. I'm in the process of removing the front drivers suspension strut. I have the hub already removed but I'm have problems with the 3 bolts on the top. The bolts are just spinning instead of loosening. I've tried to get in up the back to try to hold the nut but I'm unable to get into them properly. Does anyone have any ideas on how to get these bolts out. Thanks
  6. That's it all sorted now no more leaking brake fluid
  7. Thanks micmac I thought that was the case.I'll need to go buy some washers tomorrow then
  8. So I'm needing some advice/help. I have just replaced my front right caliper the car is a mk2 fl vrs. After connecting the brake pipe to the new caliper the it doesn't seem to be sealing properly as it is leaking brake fluid. Does anyone know should there be a washer or something between the connection that screws into the caliper and the caliper. I'm starting to think that there should be and mines might be still be on the old caliper that is already with europarts. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks Mark
  9. I tried the taking power from the reversing lights first, however this gave interference on the screen when the engine was running. From a previous thread it was explained that the interference is due to the canbus. So it was advised to use the interior boot lights for power and a earth that doesn't go through the Canbus so as not to get any interference when the engine is running. I've had no problems since wiring it like that.
  10. I'm planning on fitting a front parking camera. I've just fitted a reversing camera and due to a search I knew about the interference that you get from the power source and ground. So I followed mike holroyd''s guide of using the interior boot lights for the power. My question is the which power source should I use for the front camera so as to avoid any interference when the engine is running. I'm thinking of placing the camera on the grille somewhere.
  11. I got the lights to work. It turned out to be corrosion on the plug that's goes into the boot locking mechanism
  12. There was resistors there. I will give this a go.
  13. Just standard bulbs. I had them out today to check that they weren't blown. It looks like there is no power getting to them.
