  1. Best to replace springs in pairs usually, and the 3 bolts that hold the bottom ball joint to the wishbone can slightly affect the tracking of the car so I'd take it somewhere to check its not out of alignment (its usually better to take the one big nut off and remove the lower arm ball joint from the hub). Pretty sure the 3 bolts are also one time use? Maybe the same with the backing plate.
  2. Hi, Currently running darkside GTB2260VK turbocharger on an ASZ engine with darksides own tubular and 3" downpipe, I am currently having the issue of the copper exhaust nuts over time (ie quite a few full boost pulls @ 2.3 bar max) slowly undoing themselves, thus causing exhaust gas to leak out the top of the manifold and cover the front of my inlet in soot, which is bad enough that you can smell strong exhaust gas in the car Anyone else running into this issue?? Or are there any ways around it Cheers
  3. Where's the best place to source one of those kits? And roughly how many miles have you had the dmf on for? As I don't wanna be replacing it every 20k haha
  4. I think the most I've seen a 1756 make is between 230-240bhp and around 360/370 lb ft? Is that big enough power to warrant a SMF? I see there's a Sachs SRE DMF clutch that should hold 360 lb ft with an organic disc or 400 lb ft with a sintered paddle?
  5. Hi both, cheers for the replies I'm not too bothered about single or dual mass, the noise wouldn't bother me too much, I was just more concerned that I'd buy a clutch/flywheel and then want to go for a 1756 turbo running more torque and have to buy another clutch because the one I buy now might not handle it - I'd rather just spend a little more now and know that the kit could take it - basically looking for the most cost effective kit for holding big (ish) power
  6. Hi, had my car remapped a couple of days back, my vrs has just clocked 99k miles and during the mapping session my car's clutch would slip trying to hold the torque gained from the map, in the end the fuelling and other values had to be backed off slightly to limit the torque so the clutch wouldn't slip as badly - it still does it if I try to boost from <2k RPM's in 4th/5th/6th I'm currently looking for some options for clutch/flywheel combinations - not too bothered on the price but I am looking at going 1756 in the near future so must be able to cope with the torque levels that will produce I'd like to hear any experiences people have of clutch/flywheel combinations or recommendations can be either single or dual mass, not too bothered about that either. Cheers
  7. Not the best photo, but just to clarify - MK4 R32 brakes are a direct fit and clear my 17" spiders with no spacers. You will need to use the R32 brake lines though, and it won't fit in the standard bracket so you will need to secure them some other way.
  8. Love the attention to detail on this build, get excited whenever I get an update notification on it, can't wait to see it finished.
  9. I was talking about the mk4 r32 front set up? I'm sure the discs on these are 334mm? I have 17" spiders which I'm pretty sure fit If not then does the mk4 r32 set up still fit the mk2 fabia?
  10. Hi, Currently have the option of an R32 front brake set up to put on my mk1 vrs, I would be coming from the 288mm standard brake set up. Does anyone have any previous experience with the R32 brake set up, is it possible that the servo/master cylinder would not be able to cope with the size of the brakes? Would there be excess pedal travel? I would be doing a full fluid flush and replacing it with DOT 5.1 racing brake fluid (if) when I put the R32 front brakes on Cheers for any help
