  1. Hi Nick, i have tried 3 different phones a6 8 & X three genuine Apple cables. It’s been to the dealership and had the latest Skoda software update. Which did not cure the problem. I’ve now been advised by Skoda customer care to try an Android smartphone on the Android facility on the infotainment for a compatibility test. So it’s booked in again for this to be done. I think this is to find out if it’s a physical fault or a software problem. Will let you know what the findings are.
  2. Went to the dealership today they replicated the fault. It’s now booked in for next Weds for an infotainment upgrade, there not sure if this will cure the fault. Will let you know.
  3. Hi. I have my Fabia Mk3 booked in on Thurs of this week to my main dealer to look at this problem. I suspect I will get the same answer as you have. They have acknowledged verbally that there is a problem with Apple Car Play. If I play iTunes or Spotify on Bluetooth on the Media side there is no problem with the music at all. I have the Infotainment Swing in my car. I hope this may be of help.
  4. Has anybody had problems with apple car play. Mine when using iTunes has momentary pauses in the music and also crackling just like a CD with a scratch. I’ve spoken to a friend who has a Vauxhall and has no problems at all. When I spoke to the dealership the said it was an Apple problem! But if it works on one make it should work on another. Or am I being too simplistic. Look forward to any ideas on this.
  5. When I play music from iTunes on apple car play I get glitches in the music they only last for a second or less and maybe as many as 3or4 per track. Has anybody had this problem. I’ve looked on several forums and there does appear to be some problems with this.
  6. Thanks for the input. I have ordered the car. I must admit it was simple to do. So far the service I have received from Andrew at Buyanewcaronline has been very good, any. queries have been answered quickly and to my satisfaction. So I now await the arrival of the car when it’s ready.
  7. another fabia but this time a petrol they say 3-4 monthsdelivery which is fine i am having some extras put on so not a standard se saving about 4grand
  8. has anybody had any experience of buying a new car with an online company. I am thinking of using Buyanewcaronline. So far they seem very capable> i am just about to order, so would be very grateful for any opinions out there.
  9. when you say failed active regen is that when its regenerating you stop the engine before it finishes
  10. it regens about every 300 to350 miles is this too often? is it because the dpf is getting full of ash? have always used the recomended oil and been serviced every 10000 mls regardless of the service reminder
  11. have just seen on my dipstick that the oil level is above the upper level mark so i suspect that diesel fuel is getting into the sump my mechanic that services the car reckons its got about half a litre extra than it should have. again we do quite a few short journeys. these engines or should i say the emissions side of things do not like them! i also use Archoil as an additive its good stuff. have done 12700 miles in it so probably the dpf wants professionaly cleaned??
  12. yes they definitely judder especially at speed pointing downhill
  13. ive done 125 thousand miles in my 2010 fabia mk2 1.6 diesel and by the feel of things will soon need to fit new brake discs this will be the 4th set i will have fitted. They have all gone out of true that is a high runout reading when put on a guage. Has anybody had this problem. We are not heavy brakers.
  14. The 1.6D doesnt like short journeys thats for sure especially in cold weather. However mine regens without any lights coming on i can normally tell because of increased tick over speed (1000 rpm ) also you can tell by the different exhaust sound as its putting excess diesel into the cylinders to burn off the soot particles. Mine normally takes about 15 to 20 mins of driving at 2000 rpm to clear itself. I also use a fuel additive Archoil 6900D Max which since i've been using it has made a massive difference to the general running of the engine. Mine regens about every 300 to 400 miles. Whether thats an average figure compared to others i dont know.
