  1. They have been really good. They answer the phone for starters which Simpsons don't. The cost of the first service I needed was less and they also picked up the car from Adlington. I think I mentioned before, when I took the car in with 4 faults, Simpson's didn't fix a single one. Instead they claimed all were normal features of the car, including holding a litre of water in the door when it rained. Anyway RRG fixed 3 of the 4 and they always clean the car inside and out. Another point is that RRG Skoda were in the same premises as RRG Toyota. However they are opening a brand new store on the 1st June. So hopefully things will get even better then. https://www.rrg-group.com/skoda/dealerships/bolton/
  2. I agree with you. One of the reasons why I chose a Skoda was because of the good reputation of Skoda dealers. Seems like Simpsons really let down the network. I now head over to RRG in Bolton.
  3. Thanks, that's what I suspected. I'll definitely check out independents once out of the warranty period.
  4. I was going to say they must've done the 2nd year major service for that price but as you state, it's even a high price for that. Was it Simpsons Preston you went to? My experience of them as been very bad. The service receptionist never seems available but although I've had many promises that they will call me back they never have. I took the Yeti in for 4 faults and they talked around every single 1 of them. Apparently the door holding a gallon a water when it rains and then releasing all of it on your feet when you open the door is Normal! RRG Bolton however was able to fix 3 of the faults, they couldn't replicate the 4th one. They also have a new showroom opening in May. RRG picked up my car for free but if they are too far for you then try Simpsons Blackburn. I've not been there as their service price was also £215 but they called me back twice after I completed a contact us form on their website. On as slightly different note I've just had a major service done on a Mazda MX-5, this included a brake fluid change and cost £225. Expensive for me as it's only done 3,000 miles since it's last service but again it is time based. However only 2/3 of your price for a major service from a main franchised dealer.
  5. I'm not sure what the mileage rate is but it'll be every 12 months for me as I only do about 5,000 miles a year in it. It is every 12 months even if I only did 100 miles in it. I wasn't aware of this but the service spanner light came on so I had to call a dealer to have that explained.
  6. Hi All I was just wondering how much people pay for servicing. My Yeti is still under warranty so I've kept with the official dealerships but after being quoted £215 for the first Oil change from Simpsons, Preston I tried RRG Bolton. Their price was much different at £139 including collection & Drop-off and I found their service to be much better anyway. (Simpsons servicing rarely answer the phone). I even got a video of their checks http://video.citnow.com/vxvjXn6kFvR Are independents much cheaper than this?
  7. I think they will just shorten Karoq and call it 'Kar' or maybe they will go further and shorten it to 'Ka'.... maybe not.

  9. I'd love to have that. Looks the same as my old Audi TT display. I just don't have the tech know-how and confidence to mess on with it, especially as mine is actually a lease car so not actually my car at all. I don't even know where the VCDS socket is.
  10. Thanks for the info. Maybe I was only OK because the battery is new. Will have to be more careful in future.

    Top Gear

Dave has just re-shown the Top Gear episode featuring the Skoda Yeti, with Clarkson declaring it's all the car you ever need. Would people say it's a classic episode? https://www.topgear.com/show/series-16/episode-1
  13. At least others are still available to order, despite rumours that the order books had closed pending the arrival of the Mk II.
  14. Just thought I'd report on this socket problem. I have indeed left the heated seat on all day whilst at work but the car still started fine afterwards, with the heated seat only slightly warm. I guess the car knows when the battery is in danger or draining, so limits the power to the 12v socket then. Clever Yeti!
