16th Nov 2019 Rolling Road Day @ JKM Portsmouth
M12MKD replied to themanwithnoaim's topic in South East (Central) Meets
Was I disappoint with my run, of course it was way way down on what it should be. Even accounting for the petrol and winter tyres it still didnt make sense. The chap there could tell it was holding back and expected to see atleast and 40bhp from it's setup even with the petrol issue. I had previously said before going I wasnt expecting it's TRUE figures as it felt really down on power. So vcds out and starting to do some scanning. There was more fault warning than non fault warnings. Boost control fault one one of them. Possibly the aftermarket DV has failed, also upon taking stuff apart the seals have failed on a few on the intake parts. I'm guessing this is the cause of the problem, which I hope once I get some new parts it will resolve the issue. Would like to try again once it's fixed. Anyway despite the horrible figure and weather I had a really good laugh and day with friendly like minded people. Thanks for organising this.- 384 replies

Lol I 'king hope it doesn't. I did run it low on the tank and with rubbish fuel (95) as it was an emergency fill. Hoping that's the reason 🤔- 384 replies

Looking forward to this. Still coming even though the car has developed an issue. Not expecting a good result on the rollers. Lacking power at the moment 🤦♂️- 384 replies

You're probably right My issue is the exhaust, it was a trade off vs daily use. So it's better than stock restriction wise but it could be alot better. Plus as we chatted before I'd rather useable and reliable power than out right numbers 😉 Hoping to maybe see over 400 in March once it's gone back for a few weeks and changes. Whatever the rollers show I'm happy with it which is after all the main thing 😊- 384 replies

Interested in this one, just have to check with the other half if I'm not pre-booked. £40.00 for the run? Ok I should be good for this, from 9am onwards correct and payment on the day?- 384 replies

Thanks for the offer but I've got some KW V1's to go on shortly
-
They are really good tyres for the money. But on the octavia they had noise issues (nothing that I couldn't live with though) and only noticed since moving to the PS4S
-
Also running these grip like nothing else. On the cheaper side, I ran UniRoyal RS3's on my extremes and I liked them. However they are noisy, which I found out after fitting the PS4S's which are so quiet.
-
They are a direct fit, but they need to have the wiring changed t work. Maxton see here: http://www.maxtondesign.co.uk/product/octavia-iii/spoiler-cap-skoda-octavia-33fl-rs-estate.html

Been fairly busy to do any updates. The Combi has taken a second place to other things recently. Few Upgrades: MK3FL Rear Lights Rear Spoiler Extension Ispiri Alloys

I've used the trade mark plastidip. There is 2 versions, European and USA. The latter is more. IMHO using both there is little difference to justify the price. I cannot comment on other brands, but if you use the same process the results should be fine. Had them on the car since doing it and the plastidip is still fine. You can use a "glossifer" to give them a slightly gloss effect,It's harder to get a gloss effect so leaving them matt is easier.

VRS TSI Exhausts Choices ?
M12MKD replied to Jack Jumpin's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk III (2013 - 2020)
I can't say I've noticed that, only thing I can feel is the "fart" on full charge, this does give a slight vibrating feeling. But I sort of like it......appeals to my inner child I guess. -
an electric car you might want to buy and be able to?
M12MKD replied to Aspman's topic in General Automotive Chat
Yep, in 2014 it was about £51k for the base model and no options (with Gov grant). Funny enough I was just thinking about Tesla again today. And in fact if I took the plunge and got one, with the "free" (upto 400kwh a year) charging points, it probably wouldn't cost that much more that a quickish petrol car. -
VRS TSI Exhausts Choices ?
M12MKD replied to Jack Jumpin's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk III (2013 - 2020)
It's the mid section. Between the car and the rear mufflers. Basically a straight pipe. Gives a louder DSG fart and a bit more deeper note
