  1. So, after 2 months and 5.000 km my general impression is: I love the car :)

    Driving:

    1. Ride is smooth even on 19 rims, suspention is really good. I usually drive in normal DCC which is fine for highway but when you get some poor road, comfort mode simply eats the holes up. I must say that sport mode hardens the suspention but doesn't improve much the handling in speed cornering, which I don't practise much anyway
    2. Engine is quiet, refined and elastic. Acceleration is decisive and strong enough (surely not close to my former love - 316 PS Volvo V8:D) but I agree, shifting pedals do the job better than DSG auto.
    3. Cabin isolation is very nice, luckily I have no wind noise issues some of you have (so far)
    4. I adore lane assist on the highway. It really helps with riding safety and comfort. Btw I once tried what happens if I don't obbey and don't grab the wheel on command. I just thought lane assist woulkd simply dissengage with a warning beep or something, but after few warnings the car gave me a very decisive short autobrake to wake me up. I almost wet my pants and grabbed the wheel in a sec:blink: I read later it would slowly stop the car with emergency blinking if I didn't react. Very well done, Skoda. Only minor complaint is that very rarely the car registers my indicator late and tries to fight me changing the lane. One more funny thing with lane assist. On a part of a highway I drive every day, there is a short unintentional smear of white paint near the left line, obviously left by a sloppy worker and it resembles the line. So my car suddenly tries to steer me to the right for a sec. It took me few days to grasp what the hell happens here:D
    5. Consumption is ok for a car like this, around 31 mpg. The same was obtained in 900 km highway drive, with around 95 mph and acc mode to sport which includes fast advancing and a lot of reving. Driving peacfully at cca 80 mph highway and 55 mph on normal roads brings back cca 33 mpg.

    Equipment:

    1. Kessy trunk opening is very reliable with one major flaw. Twice, when bending deep in the trunk, my foot was beneath the car and it started to close, which is annoying and can also be dangerous.
    2. Canton is very precise and pleasant, the music breathes which is more that can be expected in the car, but the sound becomes unpleasant and thin when playing loudly. Obviously paying the price for direct technology of the amps of today.
    3. The seats are exeptionally comfy. After 500 km drive I stepped out fresh. Only the cooling is a bit mild even on 3, which might become a problem when the real heat starts.
    4. Columbus is logical and well organized, search function could be a bit more evolved and I miss screen icon for volume off in NAV. Voice control operates good enough so it can be used in real life, it is not just a gimmick, I adore enormous ammount of space for music files (4 x 128 GB) so all my collection can seat on it in FLAC. A lot of work to be done, of course, for now only 1st hundred CD's ripped.
    5. I don't like washing nozzles they spray differently almost every time.

This is more or less all for now. If I forgot something I will post later.

Very nice. That colour looks much better than it does on the website video. It would be nice to see some once you have it out in the real world please. What do you think to the match between the Cappucino Beige exterior and the beige interior, does it go as well as you hoped?

I was affraid of the color, cause couldn't see one in real life. Was very pleasantly surprised, color looks fantastic in life. It shines in the sun and looks elegant on a cloudy day. Unortunately I have no other pic than this one with my spoiling figure in front so... :)

Combo with beige interior is for me bingo. Just right not to scream and enough difference to look really good.

This is how it looks in the setting sun and a bit of a shadow. Different but to me very nice. :)

Must have been built earlier. It can take a month to ge here. So only a week from build to the uk and dealer seems to be pushing it.  Mine is this week (13) so I was expecting it middle of next month. Wonder if it's earlier.

From the factory in Mlada Boleslav to capital of Slovenia (not Slovakia :)) is just about 7h by car. Maybe it plays some part in the story.

  5. I ordered TSI 220 estate L&K cappuccino with beige interior and more or less all gizmos. Ordered January 24th, today my dealer informed me, that delivery is scheduled 12th week this year, it means around March 20th. 2 months waiting period, much better than estimated and expected :)

Your dealer is wrong - but from what I've read in other posts that doesn't come as any surprise.

Škoda still use the exact same Cappuccino paint code now that they introduced in 2007 when it replaced Sahara so the Superb II you saw would be the same paint colour as is currently used.

Colour is a personal choice so you need to make up your own mind. I never even saw a Superb III when I ordered mine, let alone one in the colour of my choice. I was looking to get Lava/Petrol Blue but on a dull day at the dealership there was a Petrol Blue Octavia parked next to a Cappuccino Fabia - one looked drab and the other looked bright, so I changed my choice on the spot.

Decided and ordered cappuccino with beige interior. Delivery is due in the last week of March :)

    Hi there!

Finally I ordered my combi 220 yesterday. In the end I decided to dive deep and afford myself and my family insanely loaded car :p . I hope I will swim to the surface  :notme:

So, it is L&K with practicaly all additional options possible. It is brilliant silver, with beige interior and phoenix 19 inch rims.

Waiting time is 2 to 3 months, so I guess I get it midle of April.

    Hope the time runs fast:

I changed beige to brown, was affraid to be slave of the car, with too much cleaning to do. Beige interior spreads to the door so every step in would leave a mark.

Today my dealer informed me, my car is due in the last week of March, 2 weeks earlier than the 1st estimate. Cool :)

  8. Hi!

Does anyone know are the colors for Superb the same as there are for Octavia (not model 2017 but "current" model)? I am considering buying Superb in capuccino and could only see one Octavia at the dealers. All in all I would like to know is capucciono Octavia the same as capuccino Superb or are there some different nuances.

I am asking because capuccino Passat and capuccino Octavia are quite different.

  9. I collected my 220 L&K estate on Monday and promptly drove 300 miles towards home, completing the other 150 miles on Tuesday.

What a car.  She is fantastic in all respects.  I cant find anything I don't like.  I have done 500 miles in total and returned 41 mpg (fill to fill).  Astonishing.  All the toys I specified are better than I anticipated.

    I am in love

    (Sad) Pilkers :notme:

    Hi.

On Friday I ordered similar car, L&K with practically all the possible extra goodies, including all driving assistance gizmos, sunroof and stationary heating (quite cold winters here). I want to know are you still in love, or was it just an infatuation and it is wearing off? :p

  11. Today I was at my dealer testing 4 FLAC ripped CD's on SD CARD so I don't rip few hundreds of them and then find out something is wrong. And good for me that I did make a test. When inserted all 4 cd's where there but crossed out. In the directory of each all songs were there also strucked out. When picked, everyone of them dissapeared and message appeared "No files to read" or something like that.

I used AOC for ripping, file names are of normal lenght all songs properly tagged. I used simple SDHC 8GB card.

I haven't got a clue. Any help again:)?

    • Upgrade to an iOS device. If you want to store your 80 GB with playlists then you'll need a 128 GB device which means either a current 6th generation iPod Touch or an iPhone 6 or newer.

Sorry to bother you again but I have an idea. Considering I will rip my core music to FLAC for an SD card I could convert my entire lossless music to mp3 320 and fit everything well below 64 GB. On ebay I see you can get used ipod touch 5th generatin 64 GB for around 150 bucks. Difference between 5th and 6th G is bluetooth 4.0 on 5th and 4,1 on 6th. I wonder can this difference be a factor? I want to have ipod fully controled over bluetooth on columbus head unit (with artwork, tracks, album, artist) and at the same time my android phone connected for phone calls.

Do you think it can be done? It would save me a lot of mumbo jumbo work.

    Thank you.

  13.

This is because the MiB-2 Columbus only supports iOS devices and the Classic you are using is not an iOS device.

BillyJim, thank you very much for your clarification. Of course, I forgot about IOS. Well, all that I am left with is to rearrange and reorganize my itunes file library and sort everything in a reasonable number of directories and put everything on a 128 gb sdxc card.

2 weeks job. And I thought ripping my favorite cd's to FLAC (for usb or sd) will be my only suffering. It's nice my superb is not in a factory yet and those after new year weeks are very suitable for such a lousy job :)

Well, I never liked itunes anyway and ipod as a player  was never comparable to cd sound even with apple lossless.  And it's time for some new playlists also:). I hope apple lossless won't bother columbus. My ipod is a mixture of cca 3/4 m4a's and 1/4 mp3 (320kbit).

    Thanks again.
