  1. I mailed the local Skoda dealer in Denmark, asking about the possibility to get Skoda Smartlink (Android Auto) activated since I was dumb enough to order the car without it.

The odd answer was that I had to buy the Aamundsen radio to get it - even though I could order the car with a Bolero radio and Smartlink.

I recently went to Germany and asked about the same and the big very official looking skoda dealer said it wasn't possible since my was too new (What?)

I then visited a smaller dealer and after some research they were willing to take on the job.

Does anyone have any insights about this? It just seems so weird that it isn't possible to install now.
Is it only official skoda dealers who are able to get the license for Smartlink? Or could I visit a independent shop and have them install it?

  2. Its quite odd that this topic should come up.

I have obviously had the distance warning on the motorway a couple of times.

But I had the collision warning for the first time the other day and yesterday it even kicked the brake for me - I was in no immediate danger, since I was accelerating towards a stopped car and I wanted to drive around him. Of course the car had no idea of my intentions and only registered me acceleration towards a stopped car.

I like having features like this, just in case.

  3. I loaned a Rapid while waiting for my fabia and I realized that my Nespresso cup didn't fit in the holder because it was too high.

Luckily the Fabia have room for taller cups, so there is no problem now.

Anyways if you get a thermos with a lid, the passenger can always use the holder in the door and then the driver can use the one under the aircon.

I do agree that it is a bad design only have room for a normal cup and a super skinny bottle, why didn't they make room for two full size cups.

  4. I was finally able to pick mine up the 7th of February after ordering it the 29th of November.

I included pictures of my newly tinted windows 18% carbon tint on all rear windows.

She is looking good and I'm contemplating on getting some nice 17" alloys when summer comes.

  5. I ordered my Skoda Fabia Estate 1.2 TSI 90 BHP Ambition (SE trim) 29/11-2016 (week 48)

It left the production line sometime during week 2 of 2017.

It arrived in Denmark this Monday (week 5) and arrived at the dealership yesterday or today.

It will be ready for pickup in week 6.

The dealer offered me a free loaner from Friday and until my car is ready for pickup. Most likely because he promised me that the car would be ready by week 5.

So about 2,5 months from order to pickup, with a slight delay.

The days gets longer and longer as we get closer to the pickup date.
