  1. Hi Marky, this unit should be compatible with Octavia mk3 out of the box. The instructions require only to switch the display unit. The glove box can stay as is. The only reason I’m hesitant to purchase it atm is a lack of videos on YT about this particular model that only came out recently. Its supposed to integrate to steering wheel, climate controls out of the box but i’m not sure how well it handles things like start-stop, initialisation time or sleeping procedure when car is turned off. Also accessing the car menu can be limited (not that I would use them often, its just nice that they're there)
  2. Hi all, I have Octavia MK3 2013 with Bolero infotainment that offers bluetooth in menu but I guess is missing the actual adapter (it says "Telephone not available" when I click on that menu). It's quite annoying since at the time of purchase I though I could purchase this module later on. Boy have I never been so wrong. Anyhow fast forward a couple of years later I found out this exists: - https://www.aliexpress.com/item/4000037527870.html?spm=a2g0o.productlist.0.0.54d4178bnRF5xR&algo_pvid=4b0288a2-3097-4b19-b264-caa32a0a003b&algo_expid=4b0288a2-3097-4b19-b264-caa32a0a003b-2&btsid=90d9858e-b503-41b6-a28c-016bac5fb2f0&ws_ab_test=searchweb0_0,searchweb201602_5,searchweb201603_55 I know what you're thinking - another lame-ass Android wannabe. But then I saw they offer a wireless (yes you read that right) Carplay / Android Auto support on that radio with the help of this module: - https://www.aliexpress.com/item/4000073434475.html?spm=a2g0o.detail.1000023.2.63c56376C2n9t2 ... in combination with android APK app ZLink. Demo can be seen here: - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ensYOHyB92A Based on specs the LCD looks great and it should be more than fast enough for smooth carplay / android auto which for the price point of ~240 EURs sounds an awesome deal. I wouldn't use radio for much other than just: - Boot into Android -> Run Carplay / Android Auto and go on from there. That way I can avoid all of the ugly Android / Chinese UI interfaces and jerky / lag behaviour since the phone does the heavy work. Don't get me wrong, would love to have OEM Columbus MIB 2.5 with smartlink, but since my car options are pretty basic, I don't want to spend huge amount of money into it just to have them grayed out. I'm not asking my Infotainment to do much other than just to stream Carplay or Android Auto. Is there maybe any other cheap option to just "hijack" current Bolero screen with some button to display Carplay or Android Auto? The only thing I've found was this: - https://unique-ad.co.uk/product/wireless-carplay-interface-for-seat-skoda-mib-1-mib-2-octavia-rapid-superb/ ... but based on that price I would much rather prefer to try Android radio first because for half the price I also end up with a bigger screen - my bolero is the smallest one (5.8 i think). Any opinions?
  3. Hey Guys, so I've managed to change the logo according to the instructions, however I don't know how to see the final result. I know that the radio show the startup logo only in some specific cases, so I'm wondering if there is a way to force it so that it shows up. I tried turning the car on the next day and the radio came up almost instantly without booting logo.
  4. Hi guys, my Octavia MK3 2013 1.2 TSi came with Bolero touchscreen radio unit that has `Bluetooth` option under its settings (and multi-function wheel) however it is missing a Bluetooth module. Did anyone here attempted to retrofit this or found anyone online who sells bluetooth kits for Octavia MK3? The local dealer here did found some bluetooth modules, however they said that SMS will not work and I would only be able to interact via multi-function wheel / dot-matrix screen. So I wouldn't have an option inside Bolero unit, which sucks. I'd just like it to behave as by default via Bolero radio. I did my own research over the internet and nothing came up for MK3, just MK2. Thanks for help!
  5. @aki78 the adaptations works for CH! I think I already set it up correctly the first time and thought that the lights would turn on automatically ^^. When flashing high beams it now works without any issues! Thanks!
  6. @aki78 mind to share the solution? I might have swapped CH for LH. As far as I know only one of these can work as the other requires the light sensor. So my goal is to make atleast one of these functions work (whichever is possible). Can you please share te solution / changes needed to enable LH?
  7. Im currently stuck on the part where I should enable the lights CH functionality. I havent found any info on where to enable this. As far as for the enabling logic goes, just search for Coming home Verbaustatus (something like that) and enable it to foglights
  8. I managed to make the menu appear and set the functionality for coming home to foglights, however those dont turn on. I saw somewhere that there I must also enable such functionality in foglights and also rear LEDs (or DLRs). Any suggested adaptation that I must do on the lights part to enable coming home functionality? I also found out that if I don't have the sensor, then only CH function can be enabled.
  9. Hi guys, I have found a tutorial on how to change CH/LH to foglights, however my Octavia doesn't have the CH/LH functionality enabled by default - it's not visible in Bolera radio infotainment under the lights options. Does anyone know how to enable CH/LH in the first place? - Later I would like to enable the front fog lights and rear LED DLRS for CH/LH. My Skoda is 1.2 - 2013 MK3 Ambition. Thanks!
  10. +1 instructions for activating CH/LH lights via VCDS for MK3 (non-xenon front)... if possible along with rear LEDs?
  11. @andyvee I thought all changes done to the car via VCDS are at our own risk. Do you think just an ABS change is enough, or does the car also need some additional hardware? - Can this be enabled on all Octavia MK3 or just on specific ones (Octaiva III 5E)?
  12. Hi guys, first of all as a newcomer I must say this forum has some really great resources. I recently bought myself used Skoda Octavia MK3 (2013) and I managed to enable a great basket of additional functionality with the help of this forum! There is one more functionality that I think can be enabled however I haven't found any info about it even though I tried searching over at the forums. I had troubles finding anything about so-called Hill hold functionality. Has anyone had any success enabling this through VCDS? If so, is anyone willing to share the procedure, so we can add it to this thread? Any help is much appreciated!
