  1. Thanks to all that replied and yes I did search on here for similar threads and believe me I've read them all too !

However my inital question was related to the cars axle loads and selecting the relevant  eibach pro kit ,

I've  found out via the sticker inside the drivers door that my cars axle load is 1060kg rear and 1080 kg front .

I've changed my mind somewhat on the pro kit as I'm concerned that it will be too stiff and harsh for the roads here that we travel on .

Thanks to your suggestions I have decided to go for the koni special active or the bilstein B6 dampers , from research and reviews they seem to be similar enough in terms of handling and comfort .

I'm having some trouble locating front koni,s though ,there seems to be a shortage of supply in Europe for them for some reason .

really good question, would be interested as my car has over 100K on the clock.  Did look at this but because of DCC on the L&K model i thought it would be very expensive.  I believe the Sportline has the same suspension?

Mine doesn't have dcc so i dont have your problom ,I believe bilstein have an electronically adjustable damper available though which is a direct retrofit .could be pricey though! ,Or you can get a dcc delete kit ?

  3. HI,

Just noticed the rear shocks are leaking on my 2017 sportline estate , 2.0 tdi 190  2wd.

Bit surprised as it's low mileage and doesn't getting any ragging but however ..

Always disliked the suspension setup anyway so thinking of upgrading it all .

Just wondering if anyone has any experience of the eibach b12 pro kit on their superb ?

Also looking online is seems it's the E90-79-012 -02-22 KIT should be correct for my car ,but it has 3 options depending on the  max front axle load, kit ending in 02-22,(1075kg) 03-22(1120kg)  and 04-22(1200kg)

How do I find out which kit is correct for my car and in reality what difference would it make ?  All 3 kits are rated for the same rear axle load (1253kg) which I thought would be more relevant than the front axle ? All 3 kits are suitable for the car according the technical data?

Any other suspension options people would recommend? Also had a look at the kw comfort coilovers which seem good ?

Not looking for much of a drop if any at all ,even a set of good dampers would suffice .

HI My Roscommon Friend and newly found BRISKODA Colleagues,

I have a similar Sportline - 2017 190 DSG same red and my door handle is now striking the same pose as yours.

I took off the little black cover on the side of the door to try and adjust the screw to try and remove the handle but hey presto, no screws in place which is very different to drivers side.

Likewise garages are shut here too. Any pics or video clips from anyone here how I might at least temporarily get the door handle back in position? don't want to force anything to break. Thanks.

Hi there and welcome to briskoda !

Putting the handle back in place is pretty easy in itself ,that video explains it pretty well,

I just put back mine for the umpteenth time now and I took a few pictures which  might help you.

Firstly open door and remove the oval grommet .

    20200410-142252.jpg

Behind this you will see a half moon shaped clip,

    20200410-142327.jpg

This needs to be pulled forward about 5mm by means of the suitable hook tool, I found I  could use the fork of a circlip pliers to do this.

    20200410-142435.jpg

With this clip released this allows the handle end  cover to be removed, might take a bit of wriggling if doing it for the first time .

    20200410-142537.jpg

With this out the handle can how be released further and relocated correctly.

    20200410-142615.jpg

Now the end cover can be reinserted , you need to pull the handle out slightly to get the Clearance to get it back in.

    20200410-142731.jpg

Now push back in the clip on the inside of the door with a screwdriver or similar and refit the grommet. That it!

My problom is that keeps popping back out to to some kind of resistance in the lock mechanism itself.

Contacted a different dealer a few days later.  Brought the car in and they had it sorted in about 30 minutes.  I was told it can be an issue with the Superb front passenger door in particular.  They said they just had to adjust the tension in the mechanism. No grease needed.  It's been working perfectly since.

Many thanks for the reply , sorry I hav,nt checked in on the thread in the past while .

My issue sounds identical to yours , sometimes a tight point develops in the lock mechanism and the handle is pulled too vigorously by someone opening the door and the handle pops out like in the picture below.

    20200406-085411.jpg

When I remove the handle and relocate in its correct position it might work fine for a day or two but the same tight point returns eventually and the handle pops out again.

My next step is to remove the door card to see can I find any part dislodged or broken in the lock mechanism but if I could find out what may be the problom is beforehand  I could order the parts before stripping down in the first place .

Or if there is an adjustment to be made if I could get a technical bulletin on what the procedure to do so ?

I'd go to my dealer but they are all closed up at the moment so that option is out for now !

  6. Car is 2017 superb mk3 sportline.

My passenger side front  door will not open from the outside ,the handle will pull out about half the normal travel and then gets very stiff ,If I pull harder I think I will break something!

Opens fine from the interior though,Ive taken the exterior handle off and sprayed some spray grease on the mechanism but made no difference.

Anybody have this problom ? Will I have to remove the door card to see what's up ?

  7. Hi ,

Today shortly after leaving her work my   wife got an engine overheating warning on the central display . (Stop - owners manual)

She would only have driven a couple of km,s  or so in light stop / start town traffic from a cold engine start when the warning showed up .

She immediately pulled over and stopped the engine and called me , I told her to restart and look at the temp guage , it was at approx 110 Deg on restart but quickly dropped to 90 Deg. The warning did not reappear and she  continued on her way home ( approx 50 kms) with no further reoccourance. Also did a couple for shorter journeys this evening again with no problems.

I've checked the coolant level and it is perfect , engine looks dry with no coolant leaks evident.

Anyone any idea,s ? Would it just have got slightly hot whilst doing a regen? I'm also thinking maybe a sticky thermostat or an issue with the water pump?

Car is a 2017 superb sportline tdi 190 2wd manual with 63000 kms that we have from new!  60k service only carried last week.

    Thanks in advance,

    Brian.

  8. Hi,

Has anyone recently experienced this issue or similar?

My 6 month old sportline has developed this issue from the rear passenger vents only .( hot air regardless of the temp setting)

It's been in to the dealers for a diagnosis, they have told me that the complete airbox assembly behind the dashboard to be replaced !

Apparently the part will take several weeks to become available as there is no stock of them in Europe atm .

Not really happy with this at all given the amount of stripping that will have to be carried out on the dashboard and trim , I'm fearful of rattles and squeaks afterwards and possible trim breakage .

Has anyone heard of this repair being carried out ?

  9. Hi ,

My 6 month old superb superb sportline has developed a hvac problom also , I have tri zone air conditioning and the rear passenger  zone vents are blowing out hot air constantly irregardless of the temp setting on the rear display or whether the air conditioning is on or not.

I also think the front air conditioning low temperature isint  as cold now as it used to. Have tried everything in the settings Inc the reset as mentioned here to get it to work normally but to no avail , the central arm rest cooler box is roasting inside too even with the dial set to 0.

Had it back to the dealer yesterday to diagnose ,they said there is a hvac fault logged but they have to get confirmation from skoda as to what to do to repair so I'm waiting for a reply from them .

Not impressed at the thought of possibly having  the interior ripped out to repair the problom at all.

  11. My car has a small but annoying rattle around the roof centre console control panel. Mine is a combi with panoramic sunroof so I don't have a sunglasses holder.

If a place my hand on it when driving it disappears,  it seems more pronounced when the roof is open on tilt mode also.

Anyone with panoramic roof ever notice this on their car?

Thanks for the reply, looking like I can't order them Supernova wheels from Ireland! :( Sickened.

Anyone consider ceramic coating the car? Reading various reviews

Really ? I'm sure I saw those supernova alloys on a display rack in my supplying dealer last January. I'm open to correction on that though!

I have the carpro cquk kit for my car but have, nt had the time to apply it yet. There is a lot of preparation to be done to the paint before applying it and I have,nt had the time or the weather conditions to do it yet.

I regret not doing it the day I picked it up tbh  ,as time goes on the more prep work has to be done , detar ,  decontamination ,maybe light polishing in places to get rid of light swirling etc. It's probably two days work to do it properly at this stage !

Should be worth the effort though ,big fan of carpro gear myself ,any of their products I've used so far have been really good .

What process do you guys follow when apply paint protection from start to finish i.e. wash, dry, clay, protection products etc? Also my dealer is coating the car with lifeshine before I collect it. Anyone any experience with lifeshine? Is it any use and how long does it typically last?

    Rob,

If it was my car I definitely wouldn't let your dealer apply lifeshine or any form of Polish or wax for that matter.

With the best will in the world they won't give your car the time and care  it takes to apply a professional long life coating , more than likely apply without due care and attention and put swirls all over your paintwork.

I would try and claw back the cost of the lifeshine protection from them and either go to a local professional detailer and get them to do a full protection detail or buy the products yourself and apply in your own time.

I wouldn't even let them wash it tbh, I collected mine with some of the transport protective sheets still on the car.

For some reason it's not available on my 240bhp TDI. When i click on the drop box the only option is manufacture Volkswagen and nothing else. Getting it remapped anyway so i'll probably get the peddle adjusted within the map.

Where you getting it remapped? Pm if you prefer ,thinking of going down that road myself ..

  15. I've recently taken delivery of a superb 190 tdi in sportline spec . I'm more than happy with the performance of the 190 and  that's coming from a 2015 golf gtd 184 bhp.

It's longed geared than the golf was and the dead feel of the accelerator pedal is an annoyance but give it an open road and it's a really strong torquey engine ,it's really comes into its own at motorway speeds where I believe the 150 model begins to lag!

I was looking at the deal on the dtuk box and pedal box, so many mixed reviews on the  tuning box can't decide lol

I nearly pulled the trigger on the dtuk  CRD3 box for mine but baulked at the last minute after reading mixed reviews about them ,also being in irl is additional hassle if I had a problom in the future.

Been in contact with Daltons.ie since though :-)

Hmm unless I'm looking in the wrong place. I went into engine then coding ( long code helper) I then clicked each byte but found nothing about the throttle.

Increased sensitivity of the throttle pedal

    Controller 01- Engine

    07 - Coding

    Byte 0, Bit 0-2,

Change from Škoda (01) to AUDI (02) this will dramatically reduce lag on pressing accelerator pedal.

    Std:

    Engine_zpse6seoaca.jpg

    Change to:

    Engine%20Audi_zpsyutyfzox.jpg

If like me and many other owners you think the std throttle response is pretty dead, then this will dramatically change the way the car drives, the power is now instant just like on other cars.

IMO this is the best free mod you can do!
