  1. OK, thanks. By bleed do you mean to check the fill level when up to temp, etc.?
  2. It's 115K and over 10 years old. I already have the (proper VW) fluid, strainer, gaskets, etc. at hand. Just wanted to be sure that is likely the problem. I had read that changing fluid on an older auto transmission can cause problems?
  3. It's a 'sealed' transmission unit.
  4. Vehicle drives well in general but increasingly when slowing and nearly stopping and/or stopping and pulling away again drive is not there immediately and then clunks/bangs in. Workaround is to select neutral and then re-select D and press the accelerator gently. Any ideas what might be the cause? 2002 with 110K on the clock.
