Looks to be ASZ The motor has done 191,000 and the clutch was fine, but as the slave cylinder has gone and I have to open it up I may as well do the clutch while.im doing it.

Where would I find them?

My slave cylinder had gone on my 2004 1.9 130bhp 6 speed so it needs replacing along with the clutch and dmf as the slave cylinder is inside the gearbox. Looking on carparteforless and they have 4 different listings but the description looks the same for all, the searching on here has come back with either a lix or a Sachs kit. Does anyone know with one I need? Thanks

There was other issues with the doors and boot locks, engine bay looked worse for wear, I noticed a bit of gaffa tape in there and a few random wires had been connected and the fuel filter was rusty etc. Just didn't look well cared for

Possibly but I'm not taking a chance as I already have 2 broken cars I really don't need a third

Went and looked at the MK2 yesterday, the body would of been easier enough to fix, but there was an issue with the engine, fine on idle but when we took it for a quick drive round the blocks it was stuttering and kangarooing down the road and a lot of blueish smoke coming from the exhaust. So I think I will stick with the mk 1 and fix it and maybe buy it a few new parts to freshen it up a bit.

Yes it's the 6 speed and has the slave cylinder inside the gearbox, you can see the fluid leaking from the gearbox joint

My trusty 1.9 k&l MK1 has decided to blow the slave cylinder and as it's in the gearbox it isn't an easy fix. I have found a nice 2007 MK2 2.0tdi k&l estate that is a cat n due to a front end shut, so will need a few replacement panels and a new rad probably as it isn't holding violent anymore, is there anything I should check for when viewing this later? Also thinking I may go for vrs panels or facelift ones if needed, I have found the tread for which panels are needed for a front end face lift but if I was to go for the vrs front end which ones would I need and also what othe panels/lights need changing on the rest of the car and would the front panels need to be estate ones? Thanks
