Looks great mate, makes me sort of wish i had a silver car now.
-
Possibly, one of my mates found himself in China the other day!
It's ridiculous, I think we must have just about the most derelict roads in the Western world. Couple that with the highest fuel prices, and oh how I can't wait to move to Glasgow in January!
When I was working in Glasgow I think I was the only one trying to avoid the parts of he road that either had disintegrated or they had simply forgot to build - Lewis must be bad if you can't wait for the roads of Glasgow!

Since I have a k&N panel filter at the moment, I'd be looking to get the same or green cotton if i did get a PD160...would that be worth doing?
Its probably a bit of a placebo as some people say it makes a difference while others don't notice any change. Prob depends on your driving style too I would guess.

Just put 2x Toyo Proxys T1R's on the front for £79 each fitted. Only done 7 mile in them but they look pretty good.

clungewagon = classic quote from the inbetweeners.

Is the 43 front a typo? On Octys 2 PSI up on book is enough to even out underinflation edge wear.
Yeah good spot.....should of been 34
-
Just ordered a pair of Toyo T1R's - a few people on here rate them and will try out 34psi / 32psi front and back to see what difference it makes.
Cheers for the replies.

Both front tyres are badly in need of replacing as on both tyres the inside and outside part of the tread have turned to slicks. I've read through a few posts about when the bushes go it can wear one side but this is happening to both sides on both tyres. Tyres are inflated to the pressure indicated in the fuel flap and i normally check it every week.
When I got the car the bushes had to be replaced at 50 something thousand miles but now i'm on 69k so I doubt they could of gone again? There is no creaking but could knackered bushes cause this type of wear?
The tyres are Nangkang NS2's I think 205/45/R16's.
Cheers

Think mine was somewhere in between £40 - £45. Dads mate has his own garage and that was a service according to VAG and book stamped too!
This thread just reminded me that i'm due another service.

Hello all.
I started up my car this morning and I got OIL coming up on the MFD by the dials... as well as a small spanner and the word "miles".
The car had a full service including oil change at the end of June... and since then I have done around 2,500 miles.
Why has this come up? Is the car due an oil change so soon?
Is it something do with the fact I used VAG COM a while ago... and after disconnecting I noticed it has also reset the trip mileomoter on the same display the OIL warning is coming up on.
PS. I have checked the oil level and it is fine.
Help appreciated.
Exactly the same thing happened to me; checked oil and its fine, car just had a service about 3k miles ago so I just reset it using the manual.

Diesel Power by the Prodigy; even better if you happen to have a Diesel car!

Considering it's only a 20k service with inspection just buy the following:
oil filter
air filter
fuel filter
pollen filter (you don't need a new frame too)
5l of PD 505.01 oil
Take these bits to a normal garage and have them do the work if you can't do them yourself. Also get them to change the brake fluid.
I fitted my own air filter and pollen filter and left the garage to do the messy stuff (including a brake fluid change) at my last 20k-er. Cost me about £180 in total including bits (which came to about £80). I also got a BOGOF on PD oil as I bought it when it was on offer at Halfrauds. Means the next time I'm due a service the oil bit is free.
All you'll then have to check is that all the lights work, the wipers are ok, the tyres have good tread and top up your own washer bottle with fluid etc etc. Usual stuff. Doesn't need a 16 year old trainee in a Skoda overall to be paid £50 an hour or whatever to do the same job.
From my understanding I think he has already had the work carried out so all this is a bit of a hindsight, he'll know next time though! You don't need to take your car to a main dealer for servicing, and VAT registered garage using VAG approved parts can service your car and if you still have a warrenty it will still be valid - so long as everything that should be serviced is.

Check the for sale part of the forum

Thanks, will get some tomorrow morning and some for spares.
Any ideas how much the $tealers charge for them?
I went to a independent motor supplies place and got a few packs of mixed fuses, i think they were £3 for 15 i think or something like that - pocket change - get a few packs and keep them in your car along with a flat edged screw driver (for getting into the fuse panel). Make sure you get the mini blade fuses because i got the normal ones and had to go back and swap them (mini ones were cheaper then the normal siuzed ones )
I printed out VRS Stu's (Fabia-vrs.com - Home Page) fuse diagram too and also keep that in the car and it is fuse 15 that blows when its nippy outside.

my fab seems to make a squirting sound when i turn the ignition key obviousely i assume its the fuel pump drawing fuel just wondered if anyone else has this??
That sounds like a serious fault .....................nah only kidding mine does that and always has.

Turns out mine was a resisitor on the stalk or behind the stalk, i wasn't really paying attention but they worked when i picked car up. Thing is though when i started it up everything was fine, then i tested the wipers, yep ok then i thought lets try the washers and everything went dark. Car was still running but interior lights including dash had all gone dark so I switched it off and turned the ignition back on and everything came back on except that it wouldn't start. The battery seemed like it was dead, managed to jump start it from my dads car and drove it about for a few hours (during which the wipers failed) and this morning it was fine, took it to a garage to get the battery tested and it came back as ok except the wipers but the fuse had blown
its all good fun.

But why would frozzed water in screenwash stop the wipers from working? Is the water bottle not heated or is that just the jets?
Did anyone have this problem last year?
-
Are your wipers working now McS****y? Strange how they stopped even if it was only the water that froze though.
Haven't checked to see if I have a fuse in 21, car is at garage so will have a look in tonight to see if was the same issue you were having.

-6 this morning here. I've dropped car off at garage so see what they make of it
Who does this to a vrs?
in Skoda Fabia Mk I (1999-2007)

Probably the worst example of a VRS i've seen.
