  1. My other half complained about the air con not working right on her 2012 Octavia. I had a look and noticed it seemed to be blowing much colder on the drivers side. Further testing with an IR thermometer confirmed this. VCDS came out, no faults found. Recalibrated her flaps (hehehe), no difference. I found a post from Russia ( https://www.drive2.com/l/509495822321189043/ ) that suggested a software update solved lots of strange Climatronic behaviour, so out came ODIS-E and I updated it from version 0607 to 0709. If anyone attempts this themselves, it throws up lots of error codes on just about everything, lit up the instrument cluster like a christmas tree, and takes a solid 5 minutes to flash what is a tiny file, but it's normal. Anyway, I reset all codes on all modules, recalibrated flaps, again - no difference. Measuring blocks confirm a lack of any air conditioned air on the passenger side based on the vent and footwell temperature sensor outputs, and that's with both sides set to the same temperature. Everything seems to be behaving properly in terms of moving when its supposed to in terms of positioning feedback in measuring blocks. From that I can only assume that something has come disconnected in terms of temperature regulation, so ETKA to the rescue - https://skoda.7zap.com/en/cz/octavia/oct/2012-663/8/820-820020/#5 It looks like I'll be trying to look at item 5 (or 4 if its flipped for LHD) or its associated linkages. Fingers crossed something will become obvious with the glovebox and stereo removed. Has anyone had similar trouble and had any success in finding and fixing it? I've done a bit of searching but there was lots of "take it to the dealer under warranty" but this one's a bit past that now... I plan on attacking this at some point in the week and will report my findings. If anyone needs further info on updating the module I'm happy to help...
  2. Probably just put it in the loft with all the other absolutely useless crap I've got in there to be honest!
  3. Thanks, that answers it perfectly! I did try searching but that thread never appeared for some reason...
  4. Thanks guys, do you know if the ABS pump is looking for a +12v or an earth signal for the TPMS reset? I'll have a mess about with the multimeter and work out the pins on the TPMS switch I've got, as it doesn't seem to correspond to the above (Chinese quality probably!) This is the one I got in case anyone is interested https://www.aliexpress.com/item/32822662385.html?spm=a2g0s.9042311.0.0.6f574c4dXzFjTX
  5. Thought I'd add my bit here as well for everyone's info... I fitted an RCD330 to replace the Bolero in my other half's Octavia, mainly for Android Auto as she was fighting with Google Maps in a phone holder. I didn't want the 'fake' RCD360 so went all out and got a legit RCD330 with the green LED conversion and Skoda themed menus etc. Also got a faceplate adapter too. All arrived quickly, no customs issues into the UK, and all parts there, just plug and play. Faceplate link - https://www.aliexpress.com/item/4000366160653.html?spm=a2g0s.9042311.0.0.6f574c4dXzFjTX RCD330 link - https://www.aliexpress.com/item/32957284492.html?spm=a2g0s.9042311.0.0.6f574c4dXzFjTX Fitting straight forward, old fascia pulls off, faceplate from Bolero pulls off to reveal 4x torx screws, remove screws, pull old unit out and unplug, plug new one in and slot in, 4x screws back in, new fascia on. All worked straight out the box, I tweaked the coding a little bit with VCDS as it was complaining about there being no reversing camera so I disabled it to stop it happening, I'll maybe fit one at some point. Only issues experienced by me is that the bluetooth in the MFD (via the separate bluetooth module) was fighting against the bluetooth in the RCD330 to connect to the phone and causing confusion. I've tried my best to code out the bluetooth module but it's not having it, so I've just removed all the paired devices for now and things seem to be OK. There are a couple of spurious errors in VCDS but all works fine. The coding can be changed to adjust the vehicle type displayed in ParkPilot, I'll have a play around at some point to see which one fits in best for an Octavia Estate. I also plan on fitting a USB port to the 'top box' above the radio area so there aren't trailing cables hanging out the front of the unit, this isn't plug and play though and requires soldering inside. No problem for an electrical engineer like me though I've gone one further in my own vehicle (2012 VW Transporter) and bought a Discover Media with the component protection removed, cost more than twice as much as an RCD330 but it does a lot more and fits in with some of the retrofits I'm doing on that vehicle. It's basically the modern equivalent of the RNS510 with CarPlay/Android Auto and some other stuff. I would imagine it would fit the Octavia etc as well though if you felt so inclined, if anyone is interested I'll plug it in and have a go.
  6. Thought I'd share this here, in case of any interest! My 73 year old Grandad's trusty old B5.5 Passat finally rotted away last year, so he wanted something else. He wanted a Nissan Juke but I wouldn't let him, so he got a 2012 Yeti Elegance, its a 2.0 TDi 140. I tried my best to encourage him towards a DSG but he wouldn't have it. Because he's a perpetual fettler, even though it was top spec he couldn't just leave it as was... First job was a wheel refurb, they were silver previously and started going flaky. In they went, and came back a nice shiny black. He decided red wheel bolt trims would look good, this turned out to be the tip of an iceberg... Next thing, it's into the body shop due to this new black and red theme. Out it comes with a red grille and mirror caps. We've also now got 3D number plates, metal sill protectors, standard issue old-man steering wheel cover and matching mats. I haven't any photos of it but there's also red and black themed Skoda badges front and back... I'm hoping it'll last as long as he wants to keep on driving now, there's some rumours the roof will get painted red next, now he's fully retired I'm sure he'll get bored enough to go through with it soon...
  7. Hi, I've enabled indirect TPMS on my partners 2012 Octavia. It's got the MK70 ABS pump so needed a physical reset button fitting, which I ordered from Aliexpress for not much money. It's arrived, and there's an amount of de-pinning and re-pinning to the ASR OFF switch to make it come to life. Unfortunately, none of the wire colours match up and not all of the pin numbers do either. Although I have ElsaWin it hasn't got the Skoda data unfortunately. Can anyone point me in the right direction please as to which wires should go where? I've got the following wires in the following places. The green/black/grey ones on the TPMS plug need to join up with ones from the ASR OFF ones, I just have no idea what does what. TPMS reset plug 1- no connection 2- Green 3- Black 4- Red (long wire to ABS pump) 5- no connection 6- Grey ASR OFF plug 1- no connection 2- no connection 3- Grey/blue 4- Grey/black 5- no connection 6- Brown If anyone can confirm the correct pin for the TPMS reset on the ABS pump as well, that would be a big help. Details of it are as follows:- Address 03: ABS Brakes Labels:. 1K0-907-379-MK70M.clb Part No SW: 1K0 907 379 AK HW: 1K0 907 379 AK Component: MK70 M MASR 0106 Revision: 00H35001 Coding: 0001281 Shop #: WSC 73430 790 00074 VCID: 7BF542EB3AE5695C57-802E Many thanks in advance! I can obtain photos if it helps

Thanks very much for this, I successfully enabled it yesterday on my grandads 2012 Yeti Elegance as it has the MK60EC1. I was unable to access address 4C (Tyre Pressure II) with VCDS as it just times out, is this normal behaviour what with it being a virtual module? Unfortunately the Mrs 2012 Octavia has the MK70, so this doesn't work, and I can't really justify swapping it for the better one as she won't have any idea what ESP or ASR is, so I've ordered the TPMS reset button and wiring kit from AliExpress for under a tenner.
  9. Hi all, in the next couple of weeks I'll be picking up a late 2015 Superb Estate SE L Executive with the 2 litre diesel engine as a company car. I got fed up of being stuck in a Mondeo 1.5 diesel hire car that much (its been 11 months now), I decided to take a colleague's car on as he is leaving rather than messing about ordering a brand new one. I've not even had a go in it but it looks like it comes with plenty of toys and I'm sure it won't be as gutless as my current Mondeo. Hopefully I will be able to have a bit of a play around as I've got a copy of VCDS somewhere from back when I used to have a Polo. I'll be looking at fitting a towbar as well hopefully to pull my trailer tent, would like to fit it myself really as the company won't pay for it so I'd be unbolting it and keeping it when the car goes back. It'll be joining quite a fleet on my driveway, my other vehicles are an ex-AA Land Rover Defender 110, a 1973 Ford Cortina 2.8 V6, and a Seat Arosa 1.0... Here's the only pic of it I've got, hopefully it will be a bit cleaner when I go and pick it up!
