After 1 year and 7 months, It'll soon be time to send my beloved Octavia away. I took the car from 242,500 km to 278,900 km and it has never left me stranded. It's been fairly cheap to maintain and extremely reliable, comfortable and efficient! This was the first time I actually got to work on my car and it was relatively easy and wonderful experience. I upgraded the car in several ways and it feels pretty modern in 2022. Since I logged everything. here are some stats I could gather Fuel (Tracked using Fuelio) Number of fill-ups - 54 Number of liters - 2263.78 Average fuel consumption - 15.89 km/l Cost - €3931.26 Total spent on upgrades - €808.23 Total spent on maintenance - €1405.88 The exhaustive maintenance log is attached with other details and running costs (as applicable to me) for anyone interested. I'd like to take this opportunity to thank Briskoda and everyone who helped me along this journey. Did you figure it out? I did the same mod on my mk2 FL which already had a RLS. If I remember correctly it's pin 29 or 50 on the BCM (Don't quote me on this). I had to separate the connector (the outer connecter has 2 connectors within) and then I could see the pin numbers.

That did it! Finally figured it out. I had to press the lock button a second time, a second after the first. I was pressing a lot sooner before. The deadbolts retract just fine now! Thanks Haha! I only figured it out when I locked a friend inside, assuming they could get out when they want but no!

That's interesting! Thanks. I like the re-assurance of the chirps and will look at adding this as a retrofit, later this year. Thanks for the confirmation. I'll retrofit that as well. Anything in the auto scan points to the above? This seems to do nothing for me.

Same result again Does nothing and I'm locked inside with the deadbolts enabled. I disabled the remote buttons when inserted into the ignition. When I lock myself inside with the remote and then insert the key and turn it to the on position, the doors unlock automatically! But, If I lock myself inside without inserting the key in the ignition, the door handles do not open the door and also the lock/unlock switch under the parking break does nothing when pressed. Hi, Image (It doesn't allow me to upload an image anymore ) I applied the briskoda stickers to rear windscreen and I can barely see the one on the left. Almost invisible in the basement. Is it supposed to be that way? Also, does the stickers come off / burn if the demist is turned on? Thanks

Ah that doesn't work for me. No matter how quick I double press, I always hear the car locking on the first press and does nothing on the second. That actually makes sense! I have that enabled. The coding says auto lock at 20kmph but my car locks at 15kmph. That's cool though.

Hi, So I heard of the feature called 'Anti Hijack' which could be enabled through VCDS. I assume this means only the driver door opens first and then all other doors. I enabled it and it works. Recently, I sat inside the car and locked it with the button on the key. I then tried to open the door and it doesn't open! Q1. Is that usual the usual behavior? Next .. There is an option to enable chirps on lock and unlock. I enabled it but there are no chirps! Also, I could never get the alarm to go off. I tried a firm bang on the car and nothing. There is a red led on the drivers door which blinks when the car is locked. Q2. How can I check if my car has the security system which beeps and how do I enable chirps on lock? Is there a way to enable panic mode from the key fob? (I do not have the red panic button on the fob). Next.. I've enabled coming home and going away lights and I see it on the maxi dot, configured to 10 seconds. It doesn't seem to work when I lock/unlock the car. Recently, on an other thread, I saw a mention of this working with the 'auto' position on the light switch. I have all the sensors for rain sensing wipers and auto dimming rear view mirror but do not have the 'auto' option on my headlights switch. Q3. Do I have to get a switch with the 'auto' position (and set that up) for coming home and going away lights to work? If not, what can I try? Sorry for the messy thread, not sure if I should break this down into it's own thread (I can't for the life of me find the answers to these). Thanks!
