  1. Update. . . . I managed to get to the local dealer and we were able to identify the part, it is the full assembly so I got it on order last Saturday, but the guy was new and couldn't work the till, so another chap called me on the Monday and as I had to pay on order they sent me a link and £242.40 was transferred, they called me two days later saying it had arrived. I picked it up today and decided as I'm now off work I'll get it fitted. It was a bit of a faff with the car up on one axle stand, but I removed the ns rear wheel, a short section of undertray and it made it quite accessible, using a stubby screwdriver and torx bit I got the old one off and the new one plugged in, bolted in place and the undertray refitted etc. A few pictures below. Notice it's a VW part, no wonder it was so expensive 😂 Started the car up, the headlights did their little dance up and down and no error on the screen, so a winner. The old one was seized up good and proper, but after 8 years and circa 108,000 miles I don't think it was that bad.
  2. This might help it might not, it would seem like the winter cold weather demons are doing their work again, I got in my car to go home after work one day last week and I noticed that the clock was at 00:00 so I checked the settings and it was still on the auto time zone so I changed it to manual, went back to the home screen, no change. So as with most things these days, turn it off and back on again, however there is a reset you can do, with the unit on, simply press and hold the on/off button and it will eventually reset and come back on. Give it a try, it's worth a punt. . . .
  3. Cheers Warrior193, I found a video on YouTube an American guy had an issue with this on his A3 and the ball socket joint bust or seized up and snapped, so I know where I need to look, it just depends on finding a replacement, ones I've seen so far are for xenon lights so I'm wondering if they will be ok as I have led lights all round? I'll get under it at the weekend and take a look. I'll also look up some of the previous issues on here 👍
  4. I've finally got around to plug in the OBDeleven and there were 10 faults, and unfortunately I reset the lot of them but this fault came straight back, in the central electrics section. I've added some screenshots as there's 3 faults and it seems to be a module or sensor that is grounding out. . . The task I think is going to be locating the part and seeing if I can get a replacement.
  5. I've started getting this error message while driving and it will disappear after a few minutes then a little later it will be back again, has anyone else had the same issue? Is it easy to fix? It's on my 2017 Octavia estate 2.0D SEL it has the full LED lights Thanks in advance. . . .
  6. Not sure if this helps, I have changed my auto headlight using my OBDeleven and it allowed me to 1, change the speed that the HL comes on and 2, it allowed me to change the LUX value that the sensor picks up to turn on/off the HL main beam. Iirc I set the speed so the HL come on from 28mph and I dropped the LUX value down by 20lux so as not to dazzle oncoming motorists with my LED full beam HL. This is on my Octavia estate 2017 (67 reg)
  7. I wired mine to the same fuse with a fuse tap, then ran a aux power socket lead to it. I have the power socket in the knee high drop down cubby.
  8. I'll take your word for it lol It wasn't fun trying to get a bucket under the plume of screen wash solution when I pulled the old pump out, it went all over the shop 😂🤣😂🤣but I caught the most of it 👍
  9. Quick update to say that the replacement pump from ECP has done the job, the front and back washers are both working again. The pump came with a new rubber grommet/seal fitted and I noticed that when I fitted the pump with the seal on the pump it didn't quite seat all the way down, so I drew it back out, took the seal off the pump, fitted the seal into the hole in the bottle, then fitted the pump into the seal and it was all nice and flush. I've added a picture and I'll be checking with ECP and the dealer for availability and price for the headlight washer pump in case that starts acting up. Thanks again for your help 👍
  10. Thank you RoddersUK, the new one I have is the replacement for the rusty one. Cheers J.R., I'll have to replace the rusty one first and hopefully it'll fix the issue. Thanks for the info.
  11. My Octavia 2.0D estate 2017 (67 reg) has stopped squirting water onto the screen and having checked the forum it looks to be a simple swap job, or so I thought. I purchased a new pump from euro car parts as Skoda wanted £90 plus the cost of the seal on top of that. I stripped it back ready to change the pump and saw that there are not one but two pumps in my washer bottle, despite the dealer saying, this is the one for your car. How do I know which one needs changing? All I could do is swap one like for like and still have nothing working if the other doesn't work. My car has headlight washers and I'm wondering if it still doesn't work after swapping the one I have, I'll have to take the other pump off and see if ECP has one in that is the same. Any ideas or suggestions welcome.
  12. That's the one, it worked a treat, the pistons took a bit of getting going back but once they started they went in just fine.👍
  13. Just a quick hijack of this thread, I'm in the same boat as you and I changed my front disc's and pads and now on the rears, just been and got a right handed wind back tool for the piston, is this correct or is it a left hand tool I need? The packet says compatible with Audi and VW but not Skoda? Thanks in advance
  14. Thanks for your replies, I'll be removing the gunk and I'll be letting them know not to conjure up false add on's to bump up the bill in future. I would have been happier them trying to tell/show me that they were getting ready for changing, I could have done it much cheaper for the same Bosch wipers. If I felt they needed it.
