OK well the 50W ones work fine, no cycling on and off any more.
They are pretty bright but I guess the idea is to be visible to others.
I'll do some testing to make sure it's not going to be causing any issues for oncoming cars.

Yes the standard bulbs work fine.
These are the 30W ones I got that don't work

I have now ordered some of these 50W ones

Hi all,
Just got some led replacement DRL bulbs, and they are working but after they have been on for a couple of minutes they start cycling on and off.
The left one will go off for about 30 seconds then come back on, then the right one will do the same.
I assume this means they are not CANBUS compatible or something ? There's no warning lights on the dash.

In the uk it costs about £16 for the part.
Wish parts prices were that low here - car is back from the garage equivalent of £34 for the part and £17 for the labour. Lesson learned the expensive way!

Unfortunately the ham-fistedness was on my part this time.

Hi all,
I was changing the air filter on my 77TSI for the first time and managed to snap the pcv hose off where it goes into the valve cover
Must be more fragile than I thought, does everyone else unplug it before they pull the lid off the airbox ?
Anyway will take it to the garage tomorrow and get them to fit a new one - what's the impact of driving it a few miles with the hose off going to be ?

as said above they arent very big but i find them useful for storing my case for dashcam and charging cables etc.
they arent very heavy at all though as i fitted one to the drivers seat
OK good to hear they aren't heavy - if under 2kg I think I can get them sent surface mail which is obviously very slow but way cheaper than air - and I'm not in any hurry.

Would anyone be able to tell me the dimensions and weight of the boxes the under seat storage drawers come in ?
I live in Australia and the under seat storage was never offered as an option on MkIIs here, so you can't get the parts from the dealer.
I'm investigating shipping them from the UK, but the price of postage could get pretty crazy depending on how big/heavy they are.
Thanks!

Check it's not the support ropes for the back parcel tray creaking where they loop over their plastic supports on the hatch - they can get quite noisy
