  1. I'm really glad I didn't go for a new kodiaq! decided I didn't like the layout of the new dash so saved myself some £££ and picked up a facelift 2021 L&K instead. She's perfect, no errors, no issues, does exactly what it says on the tin. My last kodiaq (2018 Scout) was also near on perfect but when it comes time to change the current Kodiaq I may be looking elsewhere outside of VAG for it's replacement.
  2. ah ha ! so that's what it is. I noticed in the hand book some changes that were written in and also a dealer stamp on one of the pages. Just took delivery of the car this afternoon and purchased the all-in pack too
  3. Thanks everyone. I'll purchase the service plan and get the hadlex serviced in the next couple of weeks just to be on the safe side.
  4. How can I tell if my car has a DQ381?
  5. I purchased the car on Saturday and yes it's a 2021 plate. The dealer is just organising delivery over the next couple of days. I have a copy of the service record which reads: Oil change service @ 14534 miles on 22/12/2022 Inspection with Oil Change @ 20923 on 12/12/2023 O6F8 completed at 20923 on 12/12/203 <<<<< what is an O6F8 ??? Inspection with Oil Change @ 26653 on 10/12/2024 so all in all she's had 3 oil changes and whatever an O6F8 is
  6. Yeah I am aware of the DGS, Break Fluid etc being outside of the scope of the service plan. I'd do the breaks myself (if it won't void the warranty?) . I am also aware that they dont' clean the filter/pump when doing the hadlex so i'll need to get that done too.
  7. Thanks Yogi! I just wanted to make sure I wasn't about to over pay for something
  8. Hello I'm about to take delivery of my new Kodiaq. I'm looking at the Service Plans and the "All in" caught my eye. £38 a month gives me all this for 2 years but does it represent good value for money? 1 x Oil and Inspection Service 1 x Oil and Inspection Extended Scope 2 x MOT 2 Years Roadside Assistance 2 years Extended Warranty 1 x Pollen Filter replacement 1 x Air Filter replacement 1 x Spark Plug / Fuel Filter
  9. Morning folks. SO I am (finally) back in a Kodiaq I originally had a 2019 Scout 2.0 TDI 150 which was fully loaded with all available options. It was awesome. Had it for 3 years and loved every minute of it. However, life as it does, got in the way and the car was moved on. I ended up in an X3 for about 6 months. Engine was amazing (3ltr V6) but I just didn't gel with the car. Moved on to an E-Class estate which was lovely except build quality was poor. Moved that on and ended up in a little Fiesta ST for a while. All the while I was missing my Kodiaq! Well on Saturday I became the owner of a Black 2021 L&K 2.0 tdi (200) and am now waiting for delivery. I'm looking forward to getting her home and then doing a full paint decom, clay, polish, and then ceramic coat :)
  10. Hello all, Has anyone had any experience of using a tuning box on their kodiaq? specifically the diesel 150. I have had a quick look at the tuning box TDI tuning offer which suggests an increase of some 47bhp and an additional 75nm. Seems like reasonable increases from a plug and play unit but I'd like to hear your experiences of using these in the real world. cheers
  11. @Wino - lol... yeah maybe. My wife is coming with me. She, at times, can make hulk look like a pussy cat!!
  12. So just to bring this topic full circle.... I dropped the car off at a local Indy in Reading about an hour ago to have them replace the pads. I don't have time at the moment to do them myself. I asked them to check if they needed doing as i was not confident in the statement from the dealer. I just got a call from the Indy... pads are only 50% worn and do not need replacing. 50% over 20,000 miles is reasonable and not unexpected but 85% as sliver said would have indicated erratic driving or a fault which isn't the case. So on the back of this I will collect me car and then go round to skoda and provide them with some feedback.
  13. @shyVRS245 - that is a fair assumption of dealerships as a whole. this is why I'll be going to my local indy for servicing now that the free ones are all used up.
  14. just to add something to this. My Kodiaq came with a service plan, 2 services to be exact. Last year I started getting text messages from the dealer reminding me the service was due. I thought this was in error as the car told me I had a few 1000 miles left before it needed to go in. after discussing with the dealer it transpired that all "service plan cars" should have been put into fixed servicing mode where as mine and a couple of others were "accidentally" left if variable servicing mode. Due to this error my car was 1,100 miles over the 10,000 mile fixed service point. I was told that this could be a problem but when I pushed them they told me they has some lee-way with Skoda. Given that it was them, not me, who did not configure the car correctly, and indeed did not inform me at the time of pickup which servicing setting the car was on I would have had an interesting conversation with Skoda Customer Service if the dealer played up. Suffice to say it was set to fixed serving at that point and went in today for its second service, 9,500 miles later.
  15. I would say, based on my experience today, that my car was not covid-19 sanatised before it was handed back. That is unless you count the cling film they put on the steering wheel and the paper seat liner they used.
  16. to be fair to Skoda they, like many other dealerships, are there to make money. They need to cover their costs including the price of labour and parts as well as paying staff, rent, heating and lighting and many other expenses. You will still pay over the odds at a dealership be it BMW, Ford, Skoda, or Kia but unless everyone starts to push back and not pay their prices they will continue to charge high prices. I'm happy that I am able to undertake such things as changing break pads and can therefore avoid paying the dealer but I appreciate that not everyone can do, or are willing to use an indy which typically would charge less. oh and before I forget they wanted to charge me £14 for 1 litre of Adblue (I have loads at home and still have 1100 miles before it needs topping up) and £183 for a replacement tyre which when pushed told me it could be repaired for £25. so all in all and not counting the free service I had the trip today could have cost me close to £500.
  17. thanks @mrgf much appreciated! I'll go have a look.
  18. @wino - why doesn't this surprise me? this is why I wouldn't take my car to a tyre company to ask them if my tyres need replacing!
  19. @Wino - not yet, came in from picking up the car to jumping on conference calls. I'll check them later. Good thought though, why should I take their word for it huh?
  20. Hi all, Dealer noticed my front pads are 85% worn (after 2 years / 20,000 miles) and wanted £235 to replace them. I'm happy to do that myself and was wondering if anyone can recommend a decent set of pads? TIA Rob
  21. I make it a rule that I do not let anyone else, dealer or otherwise, wash my cars. I've seen first hand what their dirty clothes and brushes can do and want them no where near my car. even today, service day for me, I made it quite clear that I did not want the car washed and I'm happy to report that said car came back just as it went in. normally I'll give the car a good clean before it goes in so they aren't inclined to clean it anyway but today I didn't get the opportunity to do so.
