  1. In case anyone is reading this with the same symptoms. I purchased an OEM sensor https://www.onlinecarparts.co.uk/ate-7618461.html for £38 inc delivery, arrived from Lithuania 2 days later. Part number for car with self parking is WHT 003 864 A, there are loads of manufacturers on this site but I went for the ATe one as this was the same as the ones originally fitted. I have been driving around for 2 weeks without a hint of a problem or error message, so touch wood this seems to have cured all my issues. :-)
  2. OK so my OBDeleven arrived and I scanned and got: Trouble codes: C101C4A - Left rear ABS wheel speed sensor Incorrect component installed Passive C101C14 - Left rear ABS wheel speed sensor Open circuit/short circuit to ground Passive C101C14 - Left rear ABS wheel speed sensor Open circuit/short circuit to ground Passive C101D29 - Right rear ABS wheel speed sensor Implausible signal Passive C114602 - Tire pressure monitoring display Signal error Passive I got the wheels off and swapped over the rear left sensor with the right one (after cleaning them up a little). and cleared the codes down...... two days all the same error lights and checking the codes gave me: Trouble codes: C101D4A - Right rear ABS wheel speed sensor Incorrect component installed Passive C101D14 - Right rear ABS wheel speed sensor Open circuit/short circuit to ground Passive C101D14 - Right rear ABS wheel speed sensor Open circuit/short circuit to ground Passive C114602 - Tire pressure monitoring display Signal error Passive So kinda supporting the view that I have a faulty sensor right? I have ordered one today so will see what happens after I fit the replacement.
  3. No worries, I haven'd had any problems starting the car or using the windows etc so don't think the battery is likely to be an issue judging by Rodge and Saints92's comments. The car has done 75,000 miles, i'm still leaning towards the ABS sensor but hopefully my OBDeleven should be here later this week so will double check the new codes before seeing what sales the car parts people are having next weekend.
  4. Gaps are all good, I haven't had a bump or hit a pothole and the wife isn't allowed near my car so we can rule that out lol, we do have speed bumps everywhere here which played havoc with my old Volvo V70 tracking and struts but I've learnt my lesson on those and now take them like a teenager in a pimped out saxo :-)
  5. Got a new multimeter and just been out and I have the following readings: Engine Off - 12.74v Engine idling (all electrics off) - 13.07v Engine idling (AC & Lights on Auto) - 13.40v Battery marked as: Varta 7P0 915 105 12v 68ah 380a din
  6. I was wondering about the battery condition, I have found a few threads across VW family forums with multiple error warnings and they all seem to mention either ABS Sensor, ABS Module or Battery Issues. We cleared the codes after we checked them last week and I have just ordered an OBDeleven kit from their website so will check again when it's delivered to see what codes are now being reported.
  7. Hi all, long time since I've been on here as touch wood have been enjoying many issue free miles in my Octavia. Last week whilst returning home from a local trip I suddenly got a warning light and a chime, Error: ABS/stabilisation control (ESC) several second later I got another, Error: Tyre Pressure Monitoring System several seconds later, another... Error: bend lighting (AFS) when I slowed at the next junction I received a further warning Error: Start/Stop system I pulled onto my drive way and turned off, restarting the car all errors disappeared the following day about 30 miles into my journey, they started to come up again one after another, a mile down the road they disappeared again, then nothing for a week. This week it's happened again about 4 times. A friend who works for Mercedes managed to hook up the ODBC and got the following listing displayed: C101C14 - Left Rear ABS Wheel Speed Sensor - Open Circuit/Short Circuit To Ground - passive/abiogenesis C101C14 - Left Rear ABS Wheel Speed Sensor - Open Circuit/Short Circuit To Ground - passive/abiogenesis C101D29 - Right Rear ABS Wheel Speed Sensor - Implausible Signal - passive/abiogenesis C114602 - Tire Pressure Monitoring Display - Signal Error - passive/abiogenesis History wise, The car was serviced with new timing belt and water pump by Skoda Main dealer back in Feb and I had two new front tyres fitted at start of April following a nail puncture to front left. Has anyone seen this multiple error message scenario before? Is it likely to be as simple as replace ABS sensor on Left rear? Thanks for your time and any advice/observations welcome.
  8. I've just purchased an Atera Strada DL 3 (with extension for 4th bike) http://www.roofbox.co.uk/scripts/rbvehsel4_tab.php/car-specific-accessories/atera_strada_dl_3_to_4_bike_carrier_uk_lights_no_ar2603/Qx%40w%2C6M42VAwp3%40Rb{~cC4ure5K{W}OREsb2Swn1gD~3HHGT as per Glosrich link above Roofbox is fountain of knowledge on choices and instructional videos, ordering was simple and quick delivery with options if you are out etc. Wasn't cheap but wanted something well built and easy to clamp and lock without needing spanners or tightening and untightening various knobs etc. Arrived today so will be taking it out at the weekend for a test drive.
  9. Just to update my own post, the car did indeed have DAB but an issue with the base firmware meant it wasn't appearing on the radio screen! Updating the firmware to release 0390 has sorted the issue (and improved the FM and AM reception as well). Sorted
  10. Thanks to everyone who contributed to this post as I was already using MP3tag to get my music on the SD card but didn't understand you could get the album covers sorted with it as well, I now have a fully album covered music collection. The interface on these units (I have the Columbus) is really rahter smart and well impressed with .flac support :-)
  11. Thanks to Paulius55 for help and advice, I have now successfully solved the issue with a firmware update to 0202 which at first appeared to have solved issue but introduced another where unit wouldn't let me use volume up on some sources, a further update to 0390 seems to (touch wood) have solved all issues, hooray....
  12. Hi hoping someone can offer some advice, I am loving my 2013 Octavia 2.0tdi Elegance but my DAB radio keeps disappearing and I don't mean the signal dropping out I mean the DAB option literally disappears from the unit!? Initially I didn't think the unit was DAB enabled as the dealer said it wasn't and under the RADIO menu I only had FM or AM to choose from. Then one morning driving to work I switched to Radio and strangely I had AM, FM or DAB? That evening I excitedly tuned in all the DAB stations and setup my presets. Everything was fine until a few days later I used the Sat Nav, turned back to Radio and DAB was gone (although it was still playing Talksport in the background the preset screen wasn't showing any options) Via this forum I have found the Skoda download site and it did say there was a 2016 Station Logo's file as well as a 2017 Navigation file and Bluetooth update, but no option for a revised firmware? under settings my device lists: System Information Device Part Number: 5E0035020 Hardware: H40 Software: 0111 Navigation Database: V03959800KH0041 ECE 2013 the unit is fantastic, the jukebox and the navigation etc but playing Russian Roulette with the DAB is driving me bonkers, it also sometimes freezes in the morning and is non responsive to touch and then wakes up beeps like crazy and changes channels or playlists like it's possessed!!? looking at the details above should I be running a different software version and if so do I need to take it to a dealer to get this sorted, I bought it approved used so it has 12 month warranty (does that include the infotainment system?) any advice greatly received.
  13. Good Evening all, First post to say Hi. After waving good bye to my 2003 Volvo V70 D5 SE I collected my 2013 Octavia 2.0tdi Elegance Hatch at the weekend from Murrays Skoda in Plymouth. I have been looking for a while to find something with a decent spec worthy to replace the Volvo, I've yet to have time to sit down and go through all the settings but am so far delighted with the Octavia and have been busy gaining knowledge from this excellent forum. I had them fit a detachable towbar (for trailer and bike carrier) and remove the limo tinting (my boy racer days are long gone), only gripes would be no DAB radio on the Columbus infotainment (I thought they all had DAB as standard, (should have researched that one better) and the reception on Both FM and AM radio seems very poor in areas where the Volvo had very strong signal? anyway look forward to joining in the conversations and being part of the Briskoda family....... :-)
