Ah okay. Thanks for the info. It's getting looked at Tuesday. Engine turns over really fast, like no compression. Was just hoping it may have been a happier outcome.

Hi does anyone know if these engines are interference or not. New Cambelt or is the engine toast ?

And today, after 120 miles, in a car park in Weymouth, it cleared. No clue why but thankful.

So I replaced my clutch and all is good except for the steering angle sensor fault. I looked an had 2 abs sensor intermittent faults. Cleared with a borrowed snap on tool. And not come back yet. Not faulty not defective just amber. Ross tech suggests it's calibrated but not yet finalised and a test drive will clear. I've done figure of 8's, battery on/off, left turn right turn drive 10yds, and about 20plus miles and it's not cleared. Anyone had this before ? Did it just clear ?

Got one from gsf for 330 Changed in the street, without a jack just lots of blocks. All done now except I have ecs abs and tyre inflation light on. Along with steering wheel light. Not a journey I'm enjoying.

Eurocarparts have 2, 636440360 £759 4pc module kit bots + vag 637442030 £239 3pc clutch kit with csc va I'm hoping it's the second one. Anyone got a clutch lately from them ? Or recommend someplace else ?

No, Its a stock VRS diesel estate with St1 Remap. 57 Plate

The AC comes on when i select a lower temp like 16. I just wondered if it was a regas issue, or if they were related in some way. It gets cold enough. Water temp sensor works fine, Ive checked with an IR sensor. I'll need tofind someone with a reader i think. Thanks for your help. Wyn

Hi, I have a weird problem with my VRS Diesel Estate. I noticed the engine not getting as warm sometimes, this was after a Remap a year ago. This winter it has been struggling to reach running temp. I replaced the thermostat last week. It was busted open. Still have the fault though. So I spent most of today with the engine running. If the cabin heaters are off the engine gets to running temp fine. If I turn the cabin heater contol on even 1 bar, both raditor fans come on immediately and the engine temp drops. i've messaged the remap guy but i'm struggling to work out why this is happening. Coolant level is normal and was replaced last Oct. Is it AC related maybe?

Hi, I've a 2007 VRS Estate Diesel. It has a leak which I think is from the gearbox as the oil seems too clean to be from the engine. Driveshaft oil seal is my only thought, but I am no mechanic. There was some oil further down and around the driveshaft, which I've cleaned off. Any ideas welcome. Wyn

Just a follow up. I fitted the Manifold from Darkside Developements 2 weeks ago. The valve had 1/2" of crud on it as did the old manifold. I'm now getting 50mpg out of a 14 year old diesel VRS. And, it is really quick. Thank you for your help guys

No, that's great. I am just looking at that exact page now. There is a 3rd bolt round the back of the EGR. Very grateful to you.

Hi Schtum, many thanks for this. Ive no issues with £120 for a recon one. I will message them later. Thank you. I am struggling a bit with the ECG Body. There are 2 torx bolts. 1 above the pipe which comes in from the right side. It feels like it has resistance and am reluctant to tug too hard. Any ideas what else i need to remove ? I'm not the greatest on cars but to save 1k, I'll have a good go at it.

Car down on m.p.g and performance. My garage did a smoke test on the intake and have said there is a big leak where the shaft goes into the Intake Manifold. £600+labour+vat =1k. I've stripped it down and removed 9 manifold bolts. I have a couple of questions i'm hoping you guys can help with. 1.The manifold is not free of the head. I've read there are 10 bolts. Is there another one inside the silver(throttle body?) 2. I removed the 2 screws from said throttle body and it wont detach from the air intake manifold? 3. There must be a seal kit for these intakes. Would that cure the air leaking from the shaft? 4. Does anyone have a part No. for Air Intake assembly ? 5. Is it worth repair or straight swap ? many thanks for you time and advice.

Hi Guys, I have a 2007 Mk2 VRS Estate. I keep getting limp mode when accelerating gently in 6th. I 'd gladly pay whatever the going rate is to get the fault code. Anyone within 30- 40 miles able to help ?
