  1. Thanks Toot. As suggested, I checked previous threads through your link and now understand the system a little more. Thanks again.
  2. Sorry, I don’t think I’ve explained the query very well. I’m not referring to the hill hold assist function but the ‘Autohold’ or brake hold for DSG models which Toot has referred to in his reply. I was trying to establish if the brake light remains illuminated when autohold is engaged but Toot has also explained that it depends on what type of car you are driving. I used to own an Audi Q2 STRONIC/DSG which had this feature and I’m pretty sure that when taking you foot off the brake pedal, being stationary at traffic lights for example, the brake lights did not illuminate. A good feature as you don’t dazzle the driver sitting behind you. However, my son has taken delivery of Toyota Yaris which also has an autohold system but the brake lights stay on even after taking your foot off the brake. My Kamiq is a DSG model with the traditional handbrake but I was unsure if higher spec models had an autohold option. Cheers
  3. Does the Kamiq or indeed any Skoda have the brake hold function with DFG models. If so, can you confirm if the brake lights come on when this function is applied.
  4. You were right. I didn’t realise that the Lane assist only kicked in at that speed. Thanks for the advice.
  5. Just noticed the the Lane Assist icon now only works intermittently. Not that I’m complaining, as I’m not really a great fan of it. I’ve checked that nothing is obscuring the camera so maybe it’s a change in the weather that’s confusing it. As I said, it doesn’t really bother me but I have a slight concern that other gremlins are working away elsewhere. The car is just over years old and I’m very pleased with it’s reliability.
  6. Haven’t placed an order as I’ve arranged for a test drive tomorrow. No extras required as the SE L has all the goodies that I need.
  7. According to the salesman, the vehicle is awaiting shipment to the UK.
  8. Just for the record, I have been given a December delivery date for a 1.5 DSG petrol SE L if I order before 8 November. Still not sure if the Karoq is for me but really surprised at the early delivery date.
  9. Thanks Malcster for your comments. I've now had a chance to look at the Briskoda site in more detail and from some of the experiences mentioned, I think it's more bother than it's worth to do a DIY bulb change. I'll just wait till my Fabia arrives, check the performance of the headlights and take it from there. Maybe I'll look into a dealer replacing the bulbs providing it's not cost prohibitive.
  10. Just ordered my Skoda Fabia 1.0 litre SE Colour Edition today and pick it up next Friday. I would like to replace the headlight bulbs with the LED type and was wondering if it's an easy task. I see that Halfords stock some reasonably priced bulbs and was hoping just to do a straight swap but I have no idea if the headlight unit is easy to access and whether I could affect the factory set up lighting system. Thanks
