  1. Just checked inside the bellows, and there is indeed a split wire - it's brown and yellow. Any advice on re-connecting the wire together? There's not much slack. Am happy soldering, but have also used skotchlocks before - I'm guessing these would be a bad idea in this location, with all the movement? Yes, I'm in the UK, near the sea as well. In the winter I often find a light dusting of salt over the car of a morning.
  2. Hi there - my remote locking went a while back, so have been using the key in the door for about 6 months. Sometimes the central locking would work, sometimes only the driver's door would unlock. Now, however, I turn the key to unlock and nothing happens. After much turning back and forth and pulling at the handle repeatedly (and hearing noises especially when I 'lock' the car), the door does finally unlock. Does this sound like I need a new actuator? The door opens fine from both sides when unlocked. Cheers
  3. Hi there - I'm going to fit a towbar on my 03 Octavia. My brother has a Mk2 with a towbar which he doesn't use. Does anyone know if the towbars are interchangeable between models? I would have thought not, but while looking for towbars on ebay, I noticed some say they fit both mk1 and mk2s eg. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Fixed-Towbar-Fits-Skoda-OCTAVIA-34005-F/114728037630?fits=Model%3AOctavia|Plat_Gen%3AMK+I&hash=item1ab652ecfe:g:Y2EAAOSwi3Bfu2IR Any experience out there on this? Thanks
  4. For anyone else reading this, turns out the Haynes manual actually recommends replacing the original clips with worm drive clips 'of the correct size'. So I guess either works
  5. Brilliant - have ordered one. Thanks a lot!
  6. Just about to replace the fuel filter, but I noticed one of the clips has sheered at some point (photo attached). Does anyone know the where I can find a replacement? Thanks!
