  1. I think we all know the answer to that one!
  2. Long time lurker, new Enyaq owner… This YouTube video, in German with English subtitles, confirms the key features and timeline for the update. New software version is called ME3 12v battery will be replaced OTA updates will be enabled, with some addition updates arriving before year end Many other improvements to battery management and sat-nav Rollout will require a trip to the dealer likely starting in late Q3
  3. <UPDATE> Dealer agreed to replace the entire stick, now have a nice shiny gear knob.
  4. Hi All, No crack but having just purchased a used 14 month year old SE L Exec I discovered on day two that the chrome surround has worn away, presumably by a ring of some sort, see photo. Anyone else suffered the same fate? Is it possible to purchase a replacement chrome surround and/or DSG badge? Is this a warranty claim? Neal
  5. @terrytowelling I’m about to move from a 1.6 diesel manual MK3 hatch to a 2.0 diesel DSG MK3 Estate, one reason being the lack of punch in the 1.6. I have had to change my driving behaviour to keep the 1.6 in the power band, particularly on A and B roads. The engine is fine if you cruise at 70 to 80 for long periods, however you’ll find youself changing down more frequently than expected to find the power band, which can seem a little odd at times! Put three other people and their gubbins in the car and the performance fades perceptibly. The 2.0 150ps is a much better power unit for a car of this size, particularly when loaded up with gubbins. MPG is similar to 1.6 too. Nermaloids
  6. Thanks for the feedback @MorrisOx and @skidpan! The franchised dealer I'm buying the car off is hawking a plan with 6% off RRP which seems reasonable, however there is some oddity in that the payments are collected from a third company called PlanMyService LLP which seems unusual, with no mention of holding funds in escrow if the dealer goes pop. I'll look for another Skoda dealer offer in the area, Birmingham / Warwickshire, to see what they can do, I might just hold on to my money and pick offers as and when. Cheers! Nermaloids
  7. Hello All, Appreciate that there may be varying opinions on this one... I'm about to finish off negotiations with local Skoda dealer for a 16 month old, used MKIII Superb, SE L Executive, Estate, 2.0, 150, DSG on a PCP deal for 48 months. The car has just done 18,500 miles and will be serviced, in accordance with the service schedule, by the dealer prior to handover. With ~20 months of warranty left I'm uncertain whether to enter into a service plan with the dealer or just take the services as they come? I do between 15k and 20k per year, vast majority of which is motorway miles. What would be your suggestions on approach to servicing; variable or fixed, service plan or pay as you go, franchised Skoda dealer or Halfords/ATS/local? My current approach is to take out a service plan with the dealer for the remainder of the warranty, then take servicing as required from Halfords/ATS/local shop for the remainder of the PCP contract. Cheers! Nermaloids
  8. @knightowl2 successfully removed old Reflector and installed new in under two minutes. Thanks for your advice!
  9. Thanks for the top tips @knightowl2. I'm still waiting for the part to arrive so yet to start the job. How did you access the prongs via the aperture? Did you lie on the floor? @silver1011 thanks for the video, it is similar part on the MK3 Superb. The extraction process in the video looks a little forced, hopefully @knightowl2's approach is more civilized. Nermaloids
  10. Hello, To my huge frustration I gently pranged my Superb on the drive today, fortunately the only damage is a broken nearside rear reflector! Does anyone have advice or experience they can share about replacing reflectors on a MK3. I don't want to cause more damage when fitting a replacement. Neal
  11. Thanks @Rainmaker for the torque / power definition and recommendation to push the revs. I have been changing, particularly in 1st and 2nd too early. On the way home last night I changed much later than previously to stay in the power zone, the car felt much more lively!
  12. Hello, Model: Superb MK3 Variant: Manual 1.6 TDI, 120 PS Other: 14 months of warranty left I've had my Superb for a little over a year now and I'm really feeling it is hamstrung by a torque curve that eludes my efforts to keep it in the zone when pulling away. I drove my wife's 1.2 TSI Rapid today and couldn't believe how much low down torque it had compared to my Superb. What options do I have to improve performance? I'm lost between remapping, chipping and/or tuning? I'm not necessarily after maxing out, just an improvement to stop me hankering after another car. If possible, I'd like to not invalidate what's left of the warranty! Thank you.
