  1. Right, that's loads of help actually! I wasn't going to tell insurance, but if it's that easy to tell then there is no point! Might as well just take the difference in price.

I plan on getting a faster next car but for now I just wanted to get some stuff dine to help the acceleration. The problem with the warranty is an issue but there are companies that offer a two year warranty on your engine included in the price of a race chip, so I might do that. I've read some posts about how they do help quite a lot and are easy to fit and also take out.

My mate swears by air filters and told me it will make the car quicker... guess he's an idiot lol. If it's just going to add noise then I'll sack it off. I don't want to spend money on noise!

    Cheers for your help buddy!

  2. Oh I know, I wish I got the 110 But it was down to insurance tbh.

So could I not remap it and get one of those boxes so I can put it back to standard mapping when I take it back?

With the exhaust, I take it it's not easy to just put the standard one back on after a custom one has been put on?

    Cheers for your help mate.

  3. I'll do it if it's easy but otherwise I'll get someone to do it.

The fabia is on a pcp contract so I can swap it for something else in 2 years time. I don't want to do anything I can't reverse, if you see what I mean? Like an exhaust I can just keep the stock one and put it back on in two years time. The remap is a very good point... if I do that then I take it I would lose my warranty? Would love to do it but not if it will mess up me trading it for a new one (hopefully Skoda bring out a fabia vrs by then:cool:).

Do you think should just settle for a k&n air filter then?

Is there anything else I can do apart from the remap if this is the case?

I also want to lower it as it's far too high but with that, I'll just keep the stock springs and sell the cool ones when I swap the car over.

    Does that make sense?

Also I just read some other posts and if I get it remapped I'll need to get a ppsomthing unit so I can change it back when I want to swap the car or when it goes in for any reason. And I'm now definitely thinking of getting a race chip for it. Good plan?

Stage 1remap or a Tuning Box.

Not showing Stage 1 for the Mk3 Fabia but they do it for the Seat Ibiza with the same engine.

    PS.

If you move the mat from under the throttle pedal and floor it you can get over 110 mph, & you can have almost double the NSL with a tail wind going down hill,

how much faster do you want to go?

So would the seat Ibiza one fit then or would it be better to just splash out on a custom one? Damo said above that custom one is best.

I had a look this morning and there is no mat there! Ha. I once had my fabia to 114mph and it felt like it was restricted as it was only at 4500rpm. Tbh, I don't need to go any faster than that anyway lol.

I really want to get the acceleration up in pull off and mid range, but as I said above, a top speed of 114mph is more than enough! Do you think re-map and exhaust is the best place to start then?

    Thanks for your help guys!
