Cambelt change interval Fabia Vrs 1.9tdi
king_o replied to johnthomas99's topic in Skoda Fabia Mk I (1999-2007)
Reminds of the time I bought my Vrs. Dealer advertised 'Cambelt done' - just forgot to say that it was 4 years previous!! -
Anyone had a Nissan Serena Highway Star?
king_o replied to king_o's topic in General Automotive Chat
Yeah, you're right, I just thought someone on here may have had some experience of them. -
Just asking this question here.... I have a chance to buy a 2007 Nissan Serena Highway Star 8 seater 2.0 ltr Auto. It is an import. I just wondered if anyone on here has experience of them e.g vehicle tax cost & insurance costs. Will still have the VRS but this would be more for family trips away......

Yeah, switched the fuse with another 15A one and still no luck. Looks like I may have to replace it
-
Tried another fuse.........

Hi, I accidentally set a screwdriver in the cigarette lighter and there was a small spark. Since then the lighter has not worked. Fuse is ok and it still lights up - do I need to completely replace it? Suspect i do but wanted to ask anyway.......

15" OEM VW Wheels 5x100, ET40 - Fits mk1 Fabia
king_o replied to Bogwoppit's topic in Wheels & Tyres For Sale
I would love these but am in Northern Ireland -
I put the trigger gun right up against the gap and went very slowly around, going quite high up either side. I then ran my finger (dipped in a little fairy liquid) around gently smoothing and pushing slightly into the gap. I have done 3 doors on two Fabias....and all still hopefully OK.

Fabia 1.4 tdi, 110,000 miles, 2007, , should we drive on?
king_o replied to Anski's topic in Skoda Fabia Mk I (1999-2007)
Are you never back in UK because that seems expensive for a belt change, unless you are getting a full service at same time? -
Congrats on the new car....health to drive and enjoy!!

I done mine (vrs) yesterday using a Pela 6000 extractor. There was more than enough tubing for my car and I assume it should reach down in most cars. I have read a lot from people being sceptical about how much oil is actually extracted, I have to say that I had to put 4.3ltrs of new oil in, so it must have got as much out as removing the sump plug. I did the change after driving 20 miles and the oil was quite hot and fluid.

I read a post recently which had a video/walkthrough of user doing an oil change on a Fabia (VRS?). - they may have used an oil extractor. I have searched for it but can't find it, anyone have a link to it?

Thanks, it's just I seen the pads from supplier with and without cables so seems safe enough to buy just the basic sensorless pads
