  1. Reminds of the time I bought my Vrs. Dealer advertised 'Cambelt done' - just forgot to say that it was 4 years previous!!
  2. Yeah, you're right, I just thought someone on here may have had some experience of them.
  3. Just asking this question here.... I have a chance to buy a 2007 Nissan Serena Highway Star 8 seater 2.0 ltr Auto. It is an import. I just wondered if anyone on here has experience of them e.g vehicle tax cost & insurance costs. Will still have the VRS but this would be more for family trips away......
  4. Yeah, switched the fuse with another 15A one and still no luck. Looks like I may have to replace it
  5. Hi, I accidentally set a screwdriver in the cigarette lighter and there was a small spark. Since then the lighter has not worked. Fuse is ok and it still lights up - do I need to completely replace it? Suspect i do but wanted to ask anyway.......
  6. I put the trigger gun right up against the gap and went very slowly around, going quite high up either side. I then ran my finger (dipped in a little fairy liquid) around gently smoothing and pushing slightly into the gap. I have done 3 doors on two Fabias....and all still hopefully OK.
  7. Lets hope she does another 100,000 as trouble-free.......
  8. Are you never back in UK because that seems expensive for a belt change, unless you are getting a full service at same time?
  9. Congrats on the new car....health to drive and enjoy!!
  10. I done mine (vrs) yesterday using a Pela 6000 extractor. There was more than enough tubing for my car and I assume it should reach down in most cars. I have read a lot from people being sceptical about how much oil is actually extracted, I have to say that I had to put 4.3ltrs of new oil in, so it must have got as much out as removing the sump plug. I did the change after driving 20 miles and the oil was quite hot and fluid.
  11. I read a post recently which had a video/walkthrough of user doing an oil change on a Fabia (VRS?). - they may have used an oil extractor. I have searched for it but can't find it, anyone have a link to it?
  12. Thanks, it's just I seen the pads from supplier with and without cables so seems safe enough to buy just the basic sensorless pads
  13. I have a standard 2006 VRS. How can I tell if I need the pads with sensor or not (does it even matter if I get the ones without) - not near car so can't go and look!
  14. Sale on now - up to 50% off items - I bought 5L oil for £20 (For VRS). Just checking if someone can look and check if this item number, 10444079A (Brembo discs) would be correct one for the VRS - with sale you are getting 2 for price of 1.
  15. All depends on condition.... Reason I bought a VRS was because I had just bought a 2001 Fabia 1.9tdi with 123000mls on it (and rough bodywork). I had the 2001 for a year and did 17000mls without ever having a problem....and getting 55 - 60mpg. I was looking at a 2004 which seemed to be in good condition but I thought the dealer was asking too much for it.
  16. I bought mine in England (travelling over from N.Ireland). Ask loads of questions and try and get a feel for the seller from their answers. I looked at 3 or 4 online and some of them were actually quite rough when I got a look at more detailed pics - seller described them as 'age related marks', where I would have described them as 2 or 3 hammer hits!! The car I eventually got has been great so far (7000mls in 5 months)....but I still had a few issues with seller which I couldn't really complain about after travelling over and ready to drive car home. His website says if cars have less than 6 months MOT he will MOT for a year (mine had 4 months), his ad said 'Cambelt changed' (just neglected to mention it was 4+ years ago). I am very happy with my VRS but could easily have been fooled in to buying a dog
  17. Just in case it is coming from door seals - if its not, it probably will be soon!
  18. I had a 1.9tdi (PD100) Fabia, bought it with 123k and sold it a year later with 140k on it - never let me down once. Only sold it to buy a VRS, If I had the room and money, I would love to have kept both!!
  19. For anyone else getting this noise, it could very well be just a stone caught and rubbing against brake disc. I have had this a few times and the first time it happened I was very worried because it sounds really bad. It should work itself out eventually.......
  20. I may need a passenger side rear caliper on my VRS. When I look at TRW calipers they show 2 different part numbers for the rear left. When I look at descriptions of both, they seem identical so I just want to see if any of you guys can shed some light on this for me. Part numbers say BHN945 & BHN945E
  21. Great, thanks......I need tyres soon and may get these as well. (same colour as mine too!!)
