  1. I would like to get a replacement piggy back holder that does sit lower and does not provide such a tight fit If such a thing exists, apparently Halfords only fit there hardwire kits to certain cars, not sure if the Yeti Is on the list or not.
  2. Yes hard wired mine In using a piggy back fuse Its a bit of a tight squeeze to get the fuse box cover back on, theres a small gap as the top edge of the piggy back fuse does not fit far enough down to allow the cover to seat properly.Has anyone else had this problem I used a complete hard wire kit for nextbase dash cams from Halfords.Maybe there are piggy back fuse holders out there that do not protrude quiet so far that would solve this problem.
  3. I got some from a local car shop one of those fast fit type places that always find a job that need doing if you take your car in for something minor not sure what its called but they where a quid for six screws the heads were a bit smaller but they were philips not torque and they did the job. PS not that I would take my car there you understand.
  4. OOps sorry rick just read the other post asking the same question!
  5. When you say amazing stuff Rick are you talking about armorall sealant or silicone I presume its armoral and yes your right It does appear to be good but there must be better stuff about all the OCD detailing guys say all armoral stuff Is garbage.
  6. Seems like a very good idea to have the plastic coating or overpanel reason I asked is i recently treated one sill panel with armorall sealant purely to see If It would make the sill area easier to clean, however I am not sure its a good idea to use the paint sealants on plastic It may cause them to discolour after any amount of reapplication.Certainly beads water well after treating but the jury Is still out as to wether or not the crud comes off easier or not.
  7. Take more water with It Mally
  8. What are the Yeti sills coated with ?the black sill area feels quite plasticy as If Its got some sort of plastic coating on It anyone know what the finish used Is?
  9. HI liking your cleaning regime and looking at using a similar approach but all this modern stuff is a little baffling ,I would like to use a sealant on my paint work but I am worried that I might need to strip the wax off before using a sealant then I could wax on top of that job done. Did you just go ahead and use the purity x on your car as It came from the dealer.
  10. Sorry GreenlineIIEstate I am guilty of not reading your post correctly of course you are right the Plate manufacturer Is legally bound to display Its details on the plate. Please accept my apology.
  11. Past caring about plates It will soon be tea time and I am expecting a healthy bite.
  12. Graham If your at a loose end might I suggest fishing Its meant to be relaxing and might even be easier to get a bite than seeking one from your fellow members
  13. It depends where you live and where you park your car each to their own!
  14. I prefer not to advertise where my car comes from when I am out and about simple as that really,Its nothing to do with giving the dealership free advertising really maybe its extreme but thats how i feel about It.
  15. I do hope they are stainless [origanal tail piece] I am pretty sure they are a magnet does stick but not as strongly as on mild steel. I dont want to be messing about fitting a tail pipe although they do look nice, so I am polishing the standard one early days as I am starting on 400 grit wet and dry. Will move up to 600,1000,1500, 2000 and 2500 not sure if the 3000 will be needed. Polish with autosoll and maybe a light buff with some baby oil Hmmm will it work we will see,its a job In progress and not rushing if It works i will post a pic.
  16. Just finished supervising my wife fitting our new Yeti with the OEM front and rear mudflaps, fairly straight forward although as others have found the rears needed some longer screws to finish the job. I need to rest now as Its hard work supervising Its a tough job but someones got to do It !.
  17. The plate maker In this case the dealer needs to add their name and postcode this is laminated into the actual number plate. In a lot of cases mine being an example the dealer will add a secondary piece of plastic along the bottom edge of the plate also with their details as a means of free advertising for their business.
  18. Been out looking under the car for the exact location of the jacking points and its still as clear as mud the owners manual Is of little help actually no help at all. Its almost as If Skoda do not want people to jack up their cars at all even to change a wheel. There is an awfull lot of plastic underneath the car even the boxed area of the sill appears to be hard plastic. There Is an area of the sill that is double skinned looks like a drain hole I can only presume this Is where the jack should locate.
  19. Mine are just stuck on I am tempted to ask the dealer to remove them as i did not ask or give permission for them to be fitted. Or remove the plates and warm the plastic lip with a hair dryer to affect a removal. Although It would be nice Urrell If like yours they just fall off but i bet they used gorrilla glue so maybe they are well stuck.
  20. These details are as you say laminated into the actual number plate in fairly small lettering thats ok not a problem. Below the actual plate Is a strip of black plastic with a lip that fits on the under edge of the actual plate and i presume is glued In place this serves no purpose other than to advertise the dealership In question so can be removed quite legally.I was just wondering how easy this piece Is to remove will the glue melt with a little heat form a hair dryer?
  21. Good point It might be a another star of the skoda uk customer satisfaction survey when It arrives.
  22. Totally forgot to ask the dealership not to put the advertising badges on my new car so sadly they are on there, removed the rear screen decal warmed with hairdryer peeled slowly minimum residue easy removal. Question Is how well stuck on will the black plastic piece with dealer details be on lower edge of the number plates. Anyone had any experience of removing these? Why do dealerships do this without consulting the buyer presume they are getting away with It more often than not so It okay for a bit of free advertising. Maybe I should go back and ask them to remove them for me.
  23. Yes your right about the mild winters i have not seen a bad winter since i retired, but still ran my nokians and saved my alloys piece of mind If bad weather did hit us.
