Is it worth complaining about a Halfords garage?
sandman replied to Wench's topic in General Maintenance
Known as Halfrauds. -
Test drive a 1.2 TSi you will be surprised how good the engine is,enough power for most drivers,if funds allow get the later 1.2 110PS cambelt version
-
The fact the Yeti is such a bloody good car really gets on my nerves
-
Stop/start engines are designed and engineered to do just that, Stop/Start,battery,ring gear, starter motor, modern oils all engineered to cope,if the manufacturers who spent millions on research are not to be trusted there is also a disable switch which I use every time I use the car
-
Would an EFB battery not do the job,I have one factory fit on my Yeti 1.2 TSi,seems ok and probably a lot cheaper than AGM
-
I couldn't give a toss about MPG figures,I enjoy driving my Yeti so much, can't understand why there is so much discussion about MPG,I could get a bit more MPG if I got a Hyundai i10 but I would probably not enjoy owning one.

Resetting fuel gauge & range
sandman replied to Novascape's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk III (2013 - 2020)
Agree -
Don't buy one because you won't like how willing the 1.2TSi is,or how much fun it is to drive,or how it will out handle most cars on the twisty bits,or the build quality,or the fact you can easily spot it on the supermarket carpark and SWMBO would probably love driving it so you'll never see the keys anyway

I think you mean you were doing 70mph don't you

Mirrors do not fold after flat battery
sandman replied to 26DIPP's topic in Skoda Superb Mk II (2008-2015)
The windows may need a reset,I think you open front window fully, close and hold switch up for about 5 secs -
How did you activate this feature?
-
Fitting would be beneficial and they are very easy to fit,no need to remove rear wheels

Thank's but still no joy so downloaded July 18 cameras, updated to my Nav with no problems, have tried numerous times with the latest update but keep getting the "no data available screen" have checked and the files are on the SD card but won't transfer onto nav,do the old camera POi's have to be deleted?
-
Not having much luck with this one, downloads the file OK (Win 10) when I come to unzip (unpack) to SD card and it asks for a password,I tried my Microsoft password,no joy, skipped the password and the transfer gets stuck on 99% with error messages. There is a folder on the SD card but get a message on Satnav no data available

Well spotted Mr Urrell -
Not heard that before

Who pays for the cost of charging the car??
-
Maybe you are in too high a gear to accelerate away from those engine revs

Reminded why STOP/START is nonsense
sandman replied to BoxerBoy's topic in Skoda Kodiaq MKI (2017-2023)
I hate stop/start,crap idea that I could really live without, second nature now to press the kill button but on the rare occasion that I forget the air turns blue, this emissions bullsh*t has gone too far. -
Putting fuel additive into a 61-plate diesel Skoda Yeti
sandman replied to MuddyLanes's topic in Skoda Yeti
Next time you fill up put some diesel in a plastic fuel can, when you get home put additive in fuel can and pour into fuel tank -
What tool do you use to remove wheel bolt covers?
sandman replied to P@ul's topic in Skoda Fabia Mk III (2014-2021)
Mine was missing when I picked up my Yeti, went back to dealer and they handed one over, easy peasy
