captain_crunch replied to captain_crunch's topic in Skoda Favorit, Skoda Felicia, Skoda Fun and Skoda Formanoh i well tell yes as the car have low maintince for a while as my parents only was driving it from 1997 to 2014 after that i begin to drive the car since 2015 of course didnt know much about car mechanics i face many problems and have not much experince as now 1- lack of power ((1-faulty stage 2 + carbruter was very dirty) 2-wrong valve clerance 3- engine oil need replaced 4- gearbox 10s was broken i dont until now how this happen causing very huge leak in gearbox oil 5- spark plugs need replaced 6- fuel filter need replaced also air filter need replaced 2- have problems with barke system (1-brake master cylinder 2- all brake pads need replaced 3- brake discs need replaced 4- brake fluid need replaced ) 3- have problems with coolant as it was using tap water not coolant fluid this cause a rusty nightmare in coolant system (1- faulty water pump 2- rusty hoses and pipes 3- rusty radiator ) at all i solved this problems 1- 1- replaced 2nd stage diphram + clean carbruter 2- make new calibration valve clerance 3- make engine flush and replaced new engine oil 4- replaced gearbox 10s with 14sk 5- replaced spark plugs 6- replaced fuel filter and air filter 2- 1- replaced brake master cylinder 2- replaced all brake pads 3- replaced front brake discs 4- replaced brake fluid) 3- 1- replaced water pump 2- replaced rusty hoses and pipes 3- replaced rusty radiator also flushed the coolant system and put coolant fluid but still there rust i think it will be always forever at all i am i lucky and thx god the orginal headgasket still working well Was it a slow decay of power? not much the most problem in top speed also i have belief the only part that need to be calibrated is carbruter as i say before enrichment valve not working also carbruter need a good clean sorry for long description but this felicia have a lots of memories with me since 1997 i was 5 years old and i consider it one of my family not just a car

captain_crunch replied to captain_crunch's topic in Skoda Favorit, Skoda Felicia, Skoda Fun and Skoda Formanthx for reply 1- the jets size written as you said but how i know if its calibrated right i mean is 120 is really 120 it might be less also another jet 92.5 might be less i dont trust after market parts at all how about i bought jets from used carbruter (geniune used jets) 2- yes i will do that but i dont know how to open the block channel in red dot as you see they blocked it with metallic element 3- i rembered that when cleaning 2e3 form two years that the injection volume was not right (does it affect to much on car performance) also i forget that there is a no response with full press on gas while riding pedal the engine sound not go loud as should it be

captain_crunch replied to captain_crunch's topic in Skoda Favorit, Skoda Felicia, Skoda Fun and Skoda Formani will remove the carburetor in next few days because all spare parts shops are closed as we have (eid al-adha) its religous feast in middle east countries during this period i collect informations and all Possibilities that will solve the problem so i have some few points i want to share 1:- i remembered that from six years ago that carburetor have removed because second stage diphram is damaged and carburetor Technical shop replaced with new one and car make 145 km/h very easy but they bring me another nightmare as they got lost genuine screws of 1st stage 92.5 and 2nd stage 120 and replaced with bigger screws numbers i discovered this as the car sufferd from 1- high fuel consumption 2- black smoke from exaust 3- carbon on sparkplugs i solved this problem after that by bringing another screws from skoda spare parts shop the shop owner swear that they are geniune but i know in my self that they are after market parts but I have no other choices at this time but i dont test the top speed because the roads most time not empty but recently i have Chance to test the top speed it is about 125 to 130 2:-i discoverd from 2 years that one of channels enrichment valve in carbruters it self is blocked and i failed to open it i thought carburetor Technical shop do that when they want to fix the problem of heavy fuel consumtion after i made complaint 3- there is a gap between cam and acclerator pump cover lever as shown in this video https://streamable.com/od61ia so accourding to this points i have some thoughts i want opnions and experinces to say if it is right or wrong 1- the screws of two stages i bring from skoda part shop if they are after market they can be not calibrated as they print on it (might be tight) lets say if 2nd was 120 but really it is 110 can this affect top speed ? 2- the enrichment valve not worked as i say before can it affect on top speed or just accleration ? 3- the gap between cam and acclerator pump cover lever will not make right injection volume per stroke can this affect on top speed and accleration ? sorry for long description of the problem but i want to tell the full story

captain_crunch replied to captain_crunch's topic in Skoda Favorit, Skoda Felicia, Skoda Fun and Skoda Formanyes i have haynes and master manuals if you have another one with better explantion please share with us there is someting i tested today i bring small tiny peace of paper put on the second stage then i drive felicia with full throttle and take look again the tiny pice of paper disappear i think the 2nd stage vaccum is ok but i cant find way to check fuel starvation on 2nd stage i have 2 queestions 1- what is the 1st and 2nd stage screw jets number is it 0.92 mm and 1.2mm ? 2-can i tested the second stage by raise one side of car and start engine and give it 1st 2nd 3rd 4th 5th gears with full throttle while (the wheel raised will turn around itself ) and another pesrson look at 2nd stage

Hi to all skoda members i hope all have a nice day i recorded some videos for my felicia 97 carburateur 135 engine and i needed members to give me thier opinions also i have some questions ? 1st:- Engine sound after i made valve clearance to 0.20 is good or noisy ? https://streamable.com/yx7r0m 2nd:- Engine Temperature is good or high ? https://streamable.com/orn84k as i live in middle east (hot climate) and recently change the thermo-switch from 68-82 to 79-88 Valeo(819757) also install thermostat with 80C gates (TH12480G1) as there is no old one . note(this readings with the tap water (temporary) as i still checking if there is any leak in coolant system also special thanks to @RicardoM he adviced to change (thermostat and thermoswitch). 3rd:- This confuse me as my felicia didnt go over 120km/h i do some tests 1- i sucked vaccum form second stage unit of carbruter and it worked 2-i connected vaccum gauge to 2nd stage hose house in crabruter it self and rise throttle lever to high rpm around 4000 rpm but no readings (this confused ) https://streamable.com/ngo7vm 3 rise throttle lever at high rpm no fuel squrit in second stage in top of carbruter (this confused ) https://streamable.com/n5b2df thx at all

hi all members i have a question that make me overthinking from time to time i have felicia 97 carbruter the distrbutor and ignition coil still working from 97 until today and that is amazing because its rare to find parts working long time before you need to change but every thing have an end like humans im living in egypt and its hard to find in my region oem parts specially for old cars + skoda egypt agent doest not support old models parts anymore as they say only parts i found is aftermarket chinese covid-19 like vika is it worth it to order oem parts online as i found distrbutor from jb groub https://www.autopartspro.co.uk/jp-group-8177507 also i found some ignitions coils from many brands but i dont know does it fit my system or not https://www.autopartspro.co.uk/skoda-carparts/felicia-i-6u1/14741/10250/ignition-coil i need members experience for good parts and thanks alot

2e3 Mixture is too lean
captain_crunch replied to captain_crunch's topic in Skoda Favorit, Skoda Felicia, Skoda Fun and Skoda Formanyes you are right as i first asking about mixture screw and idle screw in first topic after that in this topic i complian because too lean mixture The issue is that form a short time i bring a vaccum gauge and start to tune the mixture screw to give higest vaccum reading the fuel consumption become very good but felt little bit of lack in performance and exhaust detonations during deceleration i first want to compare my carbruter screws with the original ones and thanks to your reply to the first topic the result that they was the same after a couple of days i went to workshop have equipment that read exaust emission and confirm that my mixture is too lean but the problem that technican want to remove the carbruter and check it + expinsive service so i refused (what is the point of remove it) finally i found this troubleshooting table and compare my case with the table Exhaust detonations during deceleration and found some causes in points 10 , 11 , 17 , 20 finally the problem solved as i start with number 10 ((Idle setting incorrect) i rotate mixtre screw about 1 turn anticlock wise and the problem solved i will continue tracking fuel consumption after this settings and check spark plugs colour .

2e3 Mixture is too lean
need help today i went to the work shop that have equipmenst that read the exaust emission test and the techninican say the mixture is too lean and need to remove the carbruter to clean the "idle path and another jets" i refused as it was so expensive also afraid that my carbruter become worst. noticed the vaccum gauge reading about 21 inhg so no vacuum leaks + i clogged the pull down unit vaccum mecanism as it was not working to prevent any vaccum leaks any advices that help to solve this problem ? thanks
