  1. No, it's the SE model, the very first customer bought Karoq on British roads the dealer reckoned*, and it came with 17"s. * I collected it before the official launch date and they got a mild bollo**ing apparently.
  2. It copes very well on 17" wheels and in the rare snow we have had since taking ownership it did very well indeed on the steep hills that surround us - very sure footed. Not as good as a Freelander Mk1 we once owned, but the Karoq doesn't break down once a month Comparable to the Honda CRV that followed the Freelander junk that we kept 10 years and 120K miles without a single significant fault.
  3. We bought our Karoq 2.0 DSG 4X4 SE in Quartz Grey from Marshalls Croydon 3 years ago and agree, they are an outstanding dealership. Our previous Yeti was from there too. The roads around here are awfully potholed, whilst Croydon Council is now bankrupt, so our 17" wheels on the SE are a blessing. I have just replaced the front tyres after 23K miles and the new Continental all-weathers have improved matters further. Our car's getting a full 4 hour valet on Tuesday morning, to restore it to showroom condition for another couple of years or so of happy and classy motoring.
  4. Thanks, I will try some new bulbs. "Yellow" is a very good description of the light. It's my wife's car day to day. I have a 3 Series Touring with LED lights and the difference almost is night and day. The Warranty extension was £349 for 12 months, unlimited annual mileage, with a cover and renewal limit of 100,000. Car has only done 24K with Covid cutting 2020 to just 3K, so potentially plenty more years of ownership. I couldn't contemplate DSG without a warranty in place.
  5. We have had our Karoq SE 4X4 for nearly three years now, our dealer reckons it was the very first customer bought Karoq on British roads. It has been a great purchase, even better than the Yeti it replaced and I have just made the balloon payment and extended the warranty. The only thing I can fault it on is the headlights which are very weak on low beam, to the extent I even wonder if they are on sometimes. My question then: Is it possible to fit brighter bulbs than the standard fit or is it feasible to upgrade at realistic cost to LED?
  6. I test drove a Karoq 1.5 TSi DSG a couple of weeks ago, with every intention of buying it, but yes, it was very jerky crawling around town and when a floored the throttle it hung on to revs between gear changes. I just did not like it. We have a Karow 2.0 TDi DSG already, which has no such issues. Previous to that a Yeti 1.2 TSi was a great car for 3 years, punching well above its weight and I currently have an Audi A3 1.4 TSi, an absolute peach of an engine. Anyway, I climbed out of the Karoq 1.5 TSi DSG into an Octavia 1.4 and loved it, so I ordered an Octavia Estate 2.0 TSi 190 DSG, arrives 1st March. The 1.5 engine is just not as good as the 1.4 it replaced. Big problem across the VAG range and the reason I did not swap my A3 for a new Q3.
  7. I just ordered a Quart Grey 2.0 TSi 190PS Estate SE-L with a few extras, DCC, ACC, Chrome window trim, silver roof bars, and a Steel space-saver. Delivery 1st March :) A proper wolf in sheep's clothing, and a fine looking car too IMHO. Really appreciate the contributions here, particularly SurreyJohn's checklist. Roll on 1st March.
  8. All very helpful, thank you. I have decided to stick with a 2.0 SE-L 190 DSG Estate. The thing I like most about the VRS is the twin tail pipes, which look great and I suspect would keep the BMW/Merc/Audi tailgate Charlies at bay on the motorway. On all other models there is no exhaust to see at all, which is disappointing. Are there any other mods/accesories that hint about the pace of this wolf in sheep's clothing? Woody
  9. With DCC could I set the suspension to it's softest for the pot-holed roads locally, or is that misunderstanding the point of it? Reviews seem to suggest soft is for motorway work. All a bit confusing.
  10. We have a Karoq 2.0 TDi 4X4 which is perfect for family, a really great car. I tested a Karoq 1.5 TSi yesterday (to replace an A3 1.4TSi) and was not enamoured with the laggy engine, really lacks the punch of the outgoing 1.4 TSi in the VAG range. My thoughts turned to the Octavia and I drove a 1.4 TSi 150hp. Loved it! Looking at specs the recently introduced 2.0 TSi 190 interests me, but I have always really hankered for a VRS. My doubts are over ride quality, given how awful many Surrey roads are. If I specced a petrol VRS 245 Estate on 18" wheels with DCC (adaptive suspension) would that soften the ride sufficiently in every day suburban use or am I trying to bang a square peg into a round hole? I would appreciate real-world input from VRS owners and especially those with DCC. Thanks
  11. We've had our 2.0 TDI 4X4 SE since early January (first private buy on the road apparently) and after 10K miles could not be happier. Best family car we have ever had and the engine has loosened up beutifully to give really stonking performance and near 50 MPG on a run. I can find nothing to criticise, in fact I'm thinking of replacing my A3 Sportsback with a Karoq 1.5 TSI SE-L next month.
  12. I am in Purley, Surrey and we collected our Karoq on 5th January. It arrived at the dealers two days before their demonstrators! They believe it was the first customer Karoq on British roads - unless anyone can prove different?
