  1. Yes I should have! Thinking about it though the dealer cancelled the order no questions asked and immediately refunded my deposit. I dreaded making the call as I expected them to try to talk me out of it etc. But thinking about it it was a vRS with towbar and acc for £43.5k on a cash deal. They probably kept the order for themselves and sold it on for more and got a finance deal out of it too.
  2. I cancelled my vRS order a few weeks ago due to a change in circumstances. It’s good to see they are finally getting made, hopefully will start to see some on the roads soon, I’ve only seen 1 facelift Kodiaq so far and the vRS seems to be like rocking horse poo! I’ll be very jealous of the first vRS I see I’m sure!
  3. Love it, looks stunning. Personally think the wheels look much better without the aero covers too. Did your dealer provide the wheel centre caps and wheel nut covers or did you have to buy them?
  4. Race blue with tow bar, adaptive cruise and usb c interior mirror.
  5. After a couple of years away from Skoda and previously owning 3 Fabias I decided I’d like a Kodiaq as the family wagon. I got offered a decent cash deal on a VRS so placed my order mid February. I was initially told 26 weeks delivery, but on the day I paid my deposit was told 17 weeks (and signed the disclaimer about possible delays!) I took this with a pinch of salt especially after reading this forum and put it to the back of my mind. Was surprised to receive a call from the dealer today saying my car has been allocated a build date of week 16. I’m not holding my breath though as I know this can change!
  6. I've just fitted my winter wheels/tyres and thought I'd post a comparison pic. I went for the DEZENT TD Dark mattschwarz with 185 60 15 Continental TS860. I was concerned that the 15 inch would look tiny as the 16 inch look a bit on the small side anyway. I think they look ok, they are a satin black finish and kind of blend into the tyre making them actually look bigger than the originals somehow.
  7. Many thanks Recretos that's very helpful. I will go ahead and pop my MK2 wheel in the boot of my mk3, it's a 195 55 15 tyre on it anyway. It's a better option than a space saver and definitely better than the tyre sealant/ pump that the car came with.
  8. I was just about to ask this same question. I know the MK3 is offset ET38 and the MK2 is ET43 but would the MK2 wheel fit on to a MK3 as a temporary measure? Has anyone actually done this? I am also considering just 'borrowing' the spare from my MK2 for my MK3.
  9. Dealer couldn't explain it either so I just put them on. Later found a section in the bars manual that says to wax the underside of the clamps in winter to prevent them sticking to the bars. Mystery solved. Went on no bother. Did consider gaffer tape on the bars aswell but they fit so well with rubber at all contact points. Will see when they come off if they've left any marks. Thanks all for the comments. All ready for a weekend of camping now just need the sun to keep shining!
  10. Yes it's interesting you say that as when I showed it to a friend he was thinking along the same lines that you should apply some wax whereas I thought it might mean waxing this area should be avoided to prevent the bars slipping on the roof rails. I interpreted the diagram as to check the manual for more info but the car manual only makes reference to fitting bars to the hatchback, not the estate. I think the biggest problem is that I read the instructions instead of just getting them on the car!!
  11. Good Morning. Has anyone any experience with Fabia Estate roofbars? I've just bought the original Skoda ones and looking through the instructions found this diagram which I can't work out what it actually means (figure 12). Seems to suggest something about wax polish and the underside of the roof bar clamp. I expect it means do not apply wax polish to this area but it's not very clear (and why would you!?) and the text makes no mention of it. I've phoned Skoda customer service who passed me on to the dealer. Waiting for them to get back to me now. Instructions are also for Octavia Superb and Kodiaq combi.
  12. As we're about to become a 2 Fabia family I thought I would sign up and say Hello! I bought an 07 Fabia 1.2 htp 5 years ago as a change of job meant we needed a 2nd car. The wife snubbed it initially but soon grew to love it and basically stole it from me! It's never let us down and only ever needed an electric window motor replaced and a track rod end for the latest MOT. We expected to replace it this year but we love it too much to let it go! We've decided instead to replace our Zafira with a Fabia Estate 1.2 Monte Carlo. After a short test drive we loved the car and are looking forward to picking it up tomorrow. Cheers
