  1. I would say it's much noisier, but I'm one of those people who's very picky.
  2. Ahm, there is same suspension across all options? The difference is that L&K comes with DCC as "standard" while its optional on others. But the noise wise its the same suspension setup. You don't get double wishbone suspension with DCC for example... Noise wise newer model years have extra noise insulation, but otherwise they're exact same cars just more equipment.
  3. I would love laminated glass as aftermarket but its soooo expensive... Its like few grand for Superb. On my V90 since I done even extra noise insulation, the only noise left are windows. And I don't know if I want to spend few thousand euro on perfectly fine windows. Tho it would make car deadly silent
  4. At home yes. In cars yes and no. My V90 Bowers & Wilkins sub is not sub at all. Its like a "shaker" that shakes car chassis to create deep tones. The same works with most "subs" in cars.. Except those you buy extra which do have MDF hard chassis. If resonance would be a problem, why some cars have subs in spare wheel? it shakes like every thing... not just air.. You had to turn down sub to get same level as it was before noise insulation? now that sounds really really wrong.... Well whatever suits you I guess. I tested this really thoroughly and my ears found any sort of extra butyl on speaker chassis really bad influence. There is reason why skoda uses plastic instead of MDF on these subs. Its not the price as some people may think. Anyway. as long as you're happy and your ears are happy! 😃 That's the point of it all. This is B&W Subwoofer (whole sound system is 3700€ extra cost). Looks pretty weird and nothing special. the exhaust of sub is actually turned outside of the car in rear wheel arch.. This was made so air doesn't move in the car, but only chassis of the car. its really strange way of doing it but it sounds awesome...

That's exactly what I meant yeah... this heavily reduces subwoofer bass because it basically stops vibrations (sound) which is what sub is made for. 200w on this sub is now like 100w.If not less. And deeps are just as deep as the membrane can make. Anyway if you prefer it this way its your choice. I didn't like it at all. It was also not any deeper as before. Just much much quieter. What made my sub deeper and better sounding, was removing the cover or adding a lot of noise insulation on the cover it self. so it didn't create extra noise. I had same issue in Volvo because where there subwoofer there is battery and its cover. And that fixed the problem. I did actually noise insulation on whole V90.
  6. Adding anti-vibration mads on Goood job! The only thing I really need to point out, that's really wrong is adding anti-vibration pads on subwoofer. The deeps are not better because you did that, but because sub is not doing its job. The point of these subs is that whole chassis is used as "vibration" device and when you add anti-vibration pads you basically stop the vibration which is creating the sound in the first place. If this was normal sub, the chassis would be stiff and would not create any vibrations it self. I was testing this theory a lot on the Canton sub and I tried various positions of deadening material and more and less and I've realized that it kills sub to add material on there. Just my opinion, if you believe it's better well ok . I upgraded sub later and added AMP and it was far superior then. But was a lot of extra work.
  7. That's a real stupid idea for multiple reasons... You can have a lot of issues with electronics / engine in long run. I suggest against this stupid idea...
  8. I just squeezed foam for normal seats (cheap as hell) to anywhere it would fit in B pillar. And noise from pillar was 0. If at the time foam solution in aerosol wouldn't be as expensive, I'd go for that and fill all gaps. Its probably still expensive. TEROSON PU 9500 foam that's probably far top solution.
  9. There will never be "new" solution to this problem. VW/Skoda use very soft bushings which due to their material create noise. When greased with special grease they quiet down. Replacing them with harder bushes is the solution, but you will feel bumps more and its aftermarket thing. Warranty should not be affected.
  10. That's possible. I did a lot of extra noise insulation on my Superb and the sound was improved highly after spending 30 hours and approx. 400€. in reducing noise. But my primary concern is the price difference in cars. It's just very hard to compare. Skoda is so cheap compared to Volvo, that its impossible to compare sound systems in general. A lot of sound depends on other factors than just amplifier/speaker. Like positions of speakers, the way it moves air (I have some real annoying "rattles" in my V90 when you listen music really loud, I never had that in Superb with 1200w subwoofer and man it was SHAKING...), etc... So a lot depends on car itself right. Anyway, I love my new V90... But it's far from perfect. It slightly lacks noise insulation (in this matter, I'm sort of sorry I didn't go for MY19 E class, it has superb noise insulation), there are some rattles (panoramic sunroof is driving me nuts, once this Corona thing is gone, I have to replace rails where sunroof sits in as those have "play" so there is noise over bumps) and fuel consumption is bit high. But other than that I'm extremely satisfied. Sound system is just 😎, transmission with polestar optimization is perfect, engine pulls like crazy with 240hp, AWD works superb in snow/dirt (extensive test), navigation works well, suspension is nice (not as comfortable as DCC on Superb/Audi though, feels bit "stiffer"), seats are amaaazing (drove 1540km to Denmark, no problems with anything), lights are superb and so on... Its great improvement over Skoda, but the costs are hard to justify. If I wouldn't love cars so much, idk if this would be my choice
  11. See I would totally disagree. I loved my Canton is Superb. I have V90 with Bowers & Wilkins now that cost wooping 3700€ as extra. Compared to 500€ on Canton, it's not worth the price difference. It's better, far better. but 3200€ for car audio? Hmm... Canton vs standard speakers, how the heck can you compare that? The difference is HUGE there... I wonder what you listen to, Stereo FM? :O... Using flac/high quality mp3 files, Canton was superb for the price... P.S.: Um I'm talking about Standard Canton. The iV one I would say without Sub it's much worse, as the only thing that I hated in my Superb was lack of punch in bass, so I upgraded subwoofer later on too. P.P.S.: Before someone miss understoods me, I'm talking about various cars and various speaker systems. In Superb Canton is best u can get in Octavia canton is not as good. But 500€ price for such speaker system is not a lot. If you buy home Hi-fi in good quality you will pay over 2.000€ as well. I have very expensive audio at home. But at home I will keep it 30 years. In car when I replace car sound system goes away... Bowers in my Volvo sounds SUPERB. It really is something out of this world, even my home audio is just little better and I spent twice as much. But we're talking about really expensive car here compared to Skoda. Most people buy Skoda for their "price - money" performance, not because its the best. So its same for the audio system....
  12. Funny my V90 has zero noises under -14°C 😛. I truly wonder how VW/Skoda doesn't address this noise issues after soooo many complaints from customers. I've seen VW forums filled with these noise issues not to mention my dealer is like, yeah this is standard issue, we'll fix it. And I listened to the noise for months before they applied another "fix". This ruined experience for me so badly that I can't put in words. Like if its soo known issue, why they dont grease bushings out of factory the same way? Or do something about it? With my Superb each noise took months to repair. I bought new car to avoid all the issues/noises/crap. I had various issues from the start and they lasted months.
  13. It's same issue. The only difference in Active/Non-active suspension noise was rear hydraulic bushings which created slight "knocking sound". Front groaning and "squeaky" suspension noises come from wishbones basically the bushings material. In theory aftermarket bushings can fix the issue permanently. But they need to be "stiffer" hance the car would defo feel a bit stiffer. I can guarantee this because I've replaced bushings on my Superb twice including rear hydraulic ones and I also fixed the issue permanently on my mothers Octavia (with exactly the same issue, as its over whole VW group, Passat, Golf, Superb and Octavia, maybe even further, but those I can confirm) by replacing original VW bushings with harder aftermarket ones, suggested by my non-OEM mechanic. This issue can also be solved by special grease which VW/Skoda dealers usually apply. In my case on Superb they applied it very very heavily after 2nd bushings were replaced. That solved the issue for a year (then I sold the car). I watched each work there in the shop, because I wanted to see how they're repairing my car. I'm one of those people who does not trust other mechanics and I also love knowing how all this works/is done.
  14. Actually the Active and Non-active use the same components (these that create noise). The only difference are dampers. So having two threads makes no sense. Bushings, Anti-roll bars, wishbones that's all the same. Noise comes from those not the dampers.
