  1. Given our cars are not really moving at the moment...I suspect my battery is slowly draining. Not keen on removing the battery, so want to charge it in place, without removing it or the connected cables (and probably outside). 2018 Superb Petrol 220 - So has stop start as well Work colleagues said something like https://www.amazon.co.uk/CTEK-MXS-5-0-Reconditions-Motorcycle/dp/B00FC42HAA/ref=sr_1_3?crid=3IHP3S5DBW1O6&dchild=1&keywords=ctek%2Bmxs%2B5.0&qid=1585839653&sprefix=ctek%2Caps%2C187&sr=8-3&th=1 but not sure which size to go for it that one? Would want to use with wife's Honda Jazz as well ! Any suggestions for charger and/or size to go for?
  2. To chip in for reference: 2018 Superb. Had the groaning noise from front suspension (front left mostly) - as per original post when going over speed bumps is most noticeable, for over 6 months (so 15 months from new). Mentioned at service in Jan 2020, and they agreed and tried to fix by greasing but failed! Taken in 2 weeks later to replace front left suspension arm. This still did not fixed so they replace "all front suspension arms and loads of other related stuff" and the noise is now gone. All in Warranty. Just wonder (from the posts) how long the noise will be gone for! (I also have an internal rattle I need to track down now...a wire is loose somewhere on passenger side I think.)
  3. Just for reference for others. I also have just got this issue (so must be a common fault?). Comes and goes so will see what happens but will get it fixed under warranty if it continues. I also got the white residue on the struts.
  4. Had back a couple of days now. All working as it should. 4 menu items back (went down to 3 menu items when it 'broke'). Basically the firmware update fixed it.
  5. Mine is in dealer today, and just had call. Fixed. They found error code, followed diagnostics and updated software. Now fixed. Will get more details when I pick it up.
  6. Ignoring the merits or not of the SIM in the car, (basically might as well, as I get a deal on sim and data through work), so have the SIM in the car glovebox and normally everything works fine. However, every so often, it does not connect (The symbol is red) - Like this morning. Nothing I do will make it connect, even restarting car. Often next time I drive (say hours later) it works - but not always. There is a possibility it is due to 'cold' mornings, or maybe the monthly SIM reset (It kind of works like PAYG) but not sure of the pattern if there is one so not even 30% sure of these. Anyone else the same? Any suggestions (bearing in mind it works mostly and it just annoying) Ta Ben
  7. Ta. I have emailed my dealer to start the ball rolling.
  8. @YTT What happened? Was this sorted? Similar issues are poping up now on other thread.
  9. @Robbo12Did you sort this as mine seems to have done the same?
  10. Sounds similar. Mine normally sounded like it came from the driver side mid pillar but it really comes from below and sound resonates up the pillar. Happened very intermittently but did mostly stop with turning off engine and did not always appear next time it was turned on. Revs was 16-20k when it occurred. Did not sound like from door but behind that in pillar. Engineer heard it well when in back of car.
  11. Just to complete this thread with final status (hopefully) The fix is still working, and Skoda tech said they had not had this issue before and the fix done by garage was approved, so did not have to go back. I am assuming that my car did not have the same issue as others )I think the fuel lines were already 'rubber' covered correctly but is similar as it was the fuel lines causing the issue. Fingers crossed the fix is good enough, but see no reason to doubt it currently.
  12. Update, for others info. They had it in and it IS the fuel pipes vibration as suspected on here. A possible fix was done and seem to be working) but they wanted to get Skoda to confirm the finsl fix but they had not done so in the time the car was in. Been a week since then and I have asked for an update.
  13. Poped out today...and the clock was wrong give the move back to GMT. Checked setting and set to GPS and GMT but nothing changed. Did it manually to stop it annoying me. How long does it take to change/update if on GPS?
  14. Thanks very much. Very useful. I will pass that on. Ben
  15. Finally got around to trying to get this fixed. Dealer tech has now heard it, and booked in to be looked at/fixed next week, but they had not come across it before. ChrisJ944 Mark3538 Can you give me any more details? Which dealers did you use? (as mine could ring them to find out what they did) Would help if the fuel line issue had a reference number of any kind you know of? Thanks
  16. My figures so far (using the app not measured myself) for my 4 month old 220 (18 Plate) L&K Petrol Hatch are so far: Long term avg of 36mpg. Most short daily commute trips are mid 30's (hence the avg above!), but can go either way (i.e high 20's low 40's) depending on the traffic/eco on or not etc. Eco does its job and those results are better (mostly high 30's and a few low 40's). Managed a 44mpg trip once - Going from Portsmouth to Scotland Also managed a 17mpg though! All bog std petrol (As I have to go out of my way to get to a station that sells the good stuff - But am planning on doing that to clean it out a bit very soon). I kinda want a 1.4 now for the mpg....but suspect I will miss the zip of the 2.0 and I wanted L&K and can't get them in 1.4 guise.
  17. Would be nice diagram/photo to have just to take to dealer. Fuel line does seem mad in there! Mine noise has 'gone' for the moment so can't do anything with dealer very easily and the mileage is ticking by...It did come back very noisy for a few days a while ago but I was on holiday in Scotland at the time so could not do anything and it had gone again on the drive home and since. Keep thinking it gone by itself then it shows up again, just don't know the conditions that create it!
  18. Also on 10 weeks this week! On point 3. Yes it does as you say for me as well - after plugging in - the next time bluetooth gets a bit confused and does some screen stuff both on phone and car (sometimes but always). I just ignore or accept (either works for me) and carry on. Annoying/confusing but still working. Not to jump on your thread too much but my human 'issues' are ACC related (see other threads I have commented on) but think I have got the hang of it now. Generally the car is fab and a huge difference to my Honda Jazz before! I am not really used to yet using the higher rev ranges when it goes like a rocket Trying to use them for running in was difficult but fun! Time will get used to that. Only 'real' issues are intermittent driver door rattle/vibration (also another thread), that I need to be looked at soon but as intermittent difficult to get recording of to take to dealer. Is very annoying when it does it however. Also have a weird one with Columbus and its own sim, where sometimes lately there is no SIM connection/4g etc at all for whole trips, but works next time . Not found out why (and not always noticed its not working either!) All minor points (well not the rattle but hope to get that fixed) and on the whole all great.
  19. Daft related question. Been using ACC quite a bit but have not got the accelerator to stop it slowing down/ignoring someone turning/moving in and out of lane (or even just accelerate as a different speed). Now I have to say I have been very light footed so the question is how far do you have to press to get it to override the ACC? Would be nice to know as the other day, on a dual carriageway, the car in front did a fast brake and quick left turn, ACC braked (fine) but a bit too much and I nearly stopped, and the lorry behind had a bit of a fit in stopping...opps. I did accelerate but not a lot happened (probably too little again and not expecting it to work), so quickly cancelled ACC and shot off All fine... I will experiment on the way home later, slow ACC set speed and push that accelerator.
  20. So pressed all the website skoda connect Agrees again, and then in the car at work went into skoda connect screens and pressed some stuff! Also went to the agreement/setup page butno buttons to press there. Whatever it was, it all immediatly leapt into life and I got a leaving home meaasge (from this morning) as I touched the car screen in skoda connect! Drove home and it was ok but did go wrong again for 10 mins (ie refused to do anything) then again just suddenly working again. So suggest (as the most likely) going into Skoda connect in the car and using it a bit...then maybe it will start working again. Currently working for me again.
  21. Yes I was suspicious it was not the car/me, but the service, so think that confirms it if other have the same. Good! (Well not good its broken but you know what I mean)
  22. Anyone else getting issue in the last day or so. Its not updating, so not showing locked/unlocked status, or parking position (says it is in motion!). Refresh just fails, both website and app. Only change I can think of is driving mostly in Eco for the last 2 days...could that be related? Any suggestions/thoughts?
  23. Just check if it is locked or not. You can't lock or unlock it remotely on the app.....so if you left it unlocked it a quick (worried) walk back to lock it!
  24. Mine has been back and gone again. Let me kmow what they say as I will leave it a few more weeks and try and get a recording of it as it is intermittent and they might argue. Not the umbrella btw as I had that out at the time.
  25. Sorry for another similar thread, but not bothered (tut tut) to check tyre pressure so far ( a few weeks in) but going away soon so thought I would start to check at home today. Being a superb novice just took out the spare to start with and am now confused as to what pressure it should be. It seems to be a 205/55 R16 but speed limit signs all over it. The fuel flaps says for spare they expect a 125/70 R18 to be 4.2 bar but that seems a bit high for this spare. It actual pressure from dealer is 2.7 bar....seems about right for normal tyre but for this? So what should it be? Not tested the P7's but assume I can go with fuel flap 2.3/2.6/3.0 as appropriate for load when I do? Thanks Ben
