at an avarage price of 115p per litre it would be £2066.55. just think of the nectar points tho.
Hehe, thanks for that, would be damn annoying as most forecourts will only let u have about a hundred litres at a time i think.
-
Shell in Cheltenham was £1.02 the other day, always seems to be a lot cheaper than everywhere else. if they can afford to sell it at that, why cant everyone else?
-
not to rub it in but i pay 100 euros for 140 liters of super unleaded,
the joys of being a british squaddie in germany
I think you guys deserve it though. I wouldnt mind paying that down Tescos id never stop driving.
Wonder how much it would cost to fill a Army Tank up with fuel on the forecourt here!

:( ummm just been on Parkers ... as I sold my vRS to buy a Premier Ed Type R im going to have to fork out £300! Its gone up £90. Bad times. Goddamnit I want my Furby back, but at least I dont have to pay quite so much for petrol, hehe. Btw here in Cheltenham Shell fuel prices are like 5p a litre cheaper than in Oxford 30 miles away. I may sell my car and ride my horse everywhere, like in the olden days, might you they will probably be taxing her soon :P
Its ridiculous the Polititions can claim their car tax back as 'expenses' so they dont care ... as soon as ive got my Law degree in off out the country. Then ill see if they can get their pesky fat fingers on my money!
or I may become one of them.
Rant over.

Looks sweet mate, nice work!

Looks like it is pretty nippy mate

Nice one! I am very jealous ... i too hope to be joining the TYPE R Honda crew soon! hehe. I saw the car on pistonheads i think, looks mint. have fun let us know just how really good it is!
-
just how much have you spent on getting it to this stage - now that you're going to be selling it for around £7000?
Nothing, it all came off my old , now dead Fabia. But yeh too much, you only live once.

The car drooped down one side and the top of the spring started to hit the inside wing .
I think they were a one off, as ive sold a few more sets at work and none have come back. so you should be ok.
I am back to standard ride height for the time being, getting itchy credit card fingers now and am thinking of coilovers.......must restrain myself.

Mmmmm coilovers ... get some get some! hehe. Im just playin the evil person in your head, mind you they would be pretty sweet, and you can get them with your discount so might be a good idea to get some!

So how does this one compare to your first vrs mate?
Must have stripped everything off that before it went to the scrapyard in the sky
How are those weitec springs holding up, mine got replaced under warenty for some kw ones
Hello mate! Hehe, damn right i stripped everything that wasnt welding on! na got all the bits i wanted before as you say she 'went to the scrapyard in the sky'! :( the new one feels ... well just the same but witha few less miles!
They got replaced under warrenty??? What for? Mine are still going fine ... i hope

Try and test drive a standard one, then one with an air filter which is common enough to find.
You wont believe the difference a simple modification like that makes to the N//A engine.
Once my car is back on the road running, it should be around 240, 175lbs of torque with what can only be called as breather mods.. i.e. exhaust manifold, intake manifold, exhaust, filter, throttle body, ecu etc...
Thats a rough quoted hp and torque figure, which is fairly simple to get too. Same torque as a standard Octavia vRS but a hell of a lot lighter and nobody has complaints about how that picks up. It would work fantastically on the track too.
If it's an affordable track car your after James, it's a good choice...
Give me a message if you ever need any help.
Good Luck
Cheers mate, you hit the nail on the head in the earlier post bout just getting bored and wanting a few more revs to play with. I do love the vRS, and may not even put her up for sale til March next year as am loving the mpg atm and is a cracking car, but when/if i get a CTR i plan to tweak it like you have done, and a CTR with 240ish BHP is going to be bit quicker and more fun than a vRS. I just fancy a change next year ... plus the price of diesal being so much more than petrol means the saving is not that much anymore surely?
Look forward to being in contact soon mate, waiting for the old student grant to come thru! hehe.
-
Yeh i understand, but i want to do some track days and go to the Nurburgring etc, surely the old Furdy diesal engine just isnt made for that. The major thing for me that is stopping me selling her is the mpg. I can get double what i could probably get in a CTR, but i do feel like a change. What i need to do is a another test drive ... i will go to Honda tomorrow morning.

Id have to say slow down to! But if you are feeling feisty then get ur suspension sorted out and get your self a ARB from jabba. Also get your self some toyo t1-r's as they are very good in the wet!
Failing that, find a big car park at night and teach your self!
Umm the car park thing is good. For the full lesson version borrow a 350z and learn to control the overtsteer ... really justa good excuse to have fun. I did an advanced driving day thing at Silverstone (the Council were paying for people to go so i signed up) and i found it really useful so i would recommend doing one, plus they are good fun.
Mind you i never drive fast on the road, learnt my lesson the hard way one wet night in my 106 GTi ...

looks nice, a couple of things i wouldnt have that for me ruin it slightly
the stickers under the bonnet, and the police light things, both a bit cheap and tacky
Thanks buddy.
Yeh i suppose, but the police lights arnt even in there anymore, they were only in for a Children in Need Charity Event and the stickers could easily be removed if necessary.

I paid 7.5k for my 04 with 28k on it and FSH. No extra's. That was in august.
so i'd say 7k is very reasonable with those mods.
Ok cool, yeh £7000 seems like a good price to me, as she has a lot of good tweaks on her and has been well looked after.
Many thanks (p.s is it free to put a car up for sale on here if you are a Freedom member)
-
Looks good that mate. Wheels look very similar to a BBS RXII and suit the car well
Fully coded sets things off nicely too Shame you're selling her though :(
Steve
Thanks mate. She is probably going to be properly up for sale early next year, but if someone is willing to pay the right money (and its a good home! hehe) then i probably would sell her any time now. would like to hold on to her til ive manged to get to a briskoda meet!
-
Damn nice looking Fabia, not OTT just nicely done. Those BBS style rims look the part too.
Ive noticed the engine bay has a few addition too? ..Whats the full spec if you dont mind me asking?
Cheers
thanks mate, a lot of hard work has gone into getting her like that. Full spec is;
SSW Stamford 17 inch Split Wheels (resprayed in a custom silver with slight fleck)
205/40 Toyo Proxes T 1 - S
20mm lowering on Weitec Springs (colour coded to brake callipers)
EBC Turbo Groove disks and Green Stuff pads all round
Repainted and laquered callipers in Skoda Green
Jabbasport remap to 164.6BHP and plenty of torque (i wanted to keep it reasonble)
Cupra R intake system and Green Cotton air filter
Forge Motorsport Strut brace
Colour Coded door handles and side strips (a must do on the silver vRS's)
Xenons, upgraded all bulbs including the side lights etc
Nice silver tax disk holder!
Fire extinguisher and First Aid kit
Brake fluid upgrade to DOT 5.1
Most importantly keeping everything as clean as possible, even steam cleaning the underside when my mates ramp is free!
-
good work fella, looks good! 7k sounds fair...
Thanks mate, so you guys think 7k would be achievable, they are going for more than price in Autotrader and Pistonheads.
-
Who did the colour coded door handles? Mine has the standard black ones which makes the car look cheap.
My mate did them as he owns his own bodyshop. if you were to go anywhere they should only charge bout £70 to get them done tho.
-
hello and welcome, hope you find it useful!
-
1315 kgs if i remember correct
-
p.s. I see you have xenons in standard lights... how do they pass MOT do they blind other road users?
They are the Super Brilliance Xenons from Halfords and they pass the MOT fine. I occasionally get people flash me but not very often, I do admit they are very bright. Thanks for the compliment about the wheels!

Hello and welcome to Brisky
Little bit of help needed regarding when the facelift was ?
in Skoda Octavia Mk I (1996-2004)
Posted
Hello all,
My mother recently part-exchanged her 04 plate Limited Ed Octy diesal Auto in for a new car.
They told her that they would give her £5300 for it after doing the HPI check and getting all the info they needed off their systems, but when she returned a week later to purchase the car she was told that it was not the facelift and that they would only give her £4000!
She needed the new car and so duly paid the extra money, but as she is not particulary wealthy I am fairly annoyed and so as a budding law student (haha!) im am going to call the manager tomorrow to discuss.
She has written conformation of the price they initially said they would give for the car and everything.
Anyhow what i really need to know is when the facelift happened on the MK 1 Octy, and so is my mothers car the facelift or not  If anyone could give me a quick reply that would be much appreiciated.
Regards,
James
