  1. Mine has been doing this since new as well this is without the sunroof open. Only moves a few cm's over a couple of days but still a bit annoying!
  2. Did anyone not notice this on the Skoda page about the new Octavia?
  3. I am currently debating whether to spec Canton in the new car, all the ones I've looked at so far in dealers just have the standard system and while it does sound decent its still nowhere as good as my Canton in my current Mk3 as to be expected. Just need to justify if its worth paying the extra £590 for!
  4. I am seriously considering getting one! I've had my Mk3 FL 3 years at the end of this month so I'm expecting calls from the dealer to start soon trying to sell me a new one haha!
  5. Yes mind did this to me once, manged to unlock the car to get in manualy but then cound start the car! luckily i was close to home so got a lift back to get the spare. Reported this to the dealer when it went for service & they replaced the batteries in all the fobs FOC as car still in warranty.
  6. Is it a DSG the original 245 has a 7 speed box while the 230 only had 6
  7. Thanks for the replies, I paid a £5500 deposit when I had the car so including this with what I will have paid at the halfway stage and taking onto account the end balloon payment I think I will have paid at least half the car off if my calculations are correct. As said though I will check the agreement terms and speak to the dealer when I take it in for a service in a couple of weeks and see what they say. Another option I guess is using it against another (cheaper) car depending on what the dealer has? As the finance is with VW financial services I would have thought you could go to a VW dealership and they would still be able to do a deal?
  8. Has anyone had any experience of VT on their Skoda finance? Due to changes in circumstances the car might have to be going Currently 2 years into the 4 years I have the PCP over.
  9. Noticed the other day while on the motorway that the blind spot assist was not working. I went into the assistance menu and saw it was turned off but when I turn it on it just comes up with the message "function currently not available" There are no fault messages coming up for this so not sure why they have just suddenly stopped working? I assume this system uses the same sensors are the parking assist, I have tested these buy covering them when park is active & they all seem to be working correctly. Anyone got any idea on what the problem could be or how to fix before I contact the dealer? The cars is a 2017 Vrs 245.
  10. Get a run lock system fitted.... its basically a relay that fits into the ignition system that once you activate it you can then remove your key from the ignition & lock the doors. The engine then keeps running but if the handbrake is release or if the brake pedal is pressed the system cuts out & stops the engine. Most emergency service vehicles are fitted with them so they can be left running while at incidents where they need to keep things powers inside for long periods.
  11. Haha yeah that would be a very backwards step, 250 bhp more like
  12. After reading various articles about the forthcoming Mark 8 Golf the GTI is looking at being around 150 bhp so expect the vrs to be the same as they normally use the same engines.
  13. Well tried new batteries and one out of the spare fobs and the key still doesn't work so guessing it is a problem with the fob. also I never had any warning about the battery going flat... I assume would have been on the display when in the car? I have two spares so no rush so will mention it to the dealer when its next in for a service
  14. I thought the same earlier so have tried the battery out of the working spare fob in the original fob and still does not work. I then tried the suspected dead battery in the spare fob and it works so i'm leaning more towards a fault with the fob.
  15. Went to the car yesterday and the key fob would not open the doors of do anything really and the light on did not light up as normal so my obvious thought was the battery had gone (even though the car is only 18 moths old) Anyway used the spare fob (all worked fine) but after replacing the battery in original fob it is still not working! I was wondering is there anything you have to do like programing / coding you have to do to the fob once the battery is replaced with it being KESSY or could it be a fault with the fob its self?
  16. when I put my DSG into manual to change down gears quicker I often forget I have to change up afterwards... luckily the box does it for me when the rev's get too high!
  17. They look really smart! Wonder if they do a gloss black version?
  18. Never knew about this, going to start doing this in future
  19. I have a Snooper DVR HD1, nice & compact so is hidden up behind the rear view mirror, can either by hardwired in or used with cigar lighter plug (both supplied) The big plus side for me on this is there is no pointless screen.
  20. A lot of services just re-use light bars if possible to save costs but agree a low profile bar would look a lot better
  21. There's one on the rear as well as with most new cars nowadays you can't flash the headlights like with old fashion halogen lights so they start fitting more LED's on the front
  22. I agree there's not much difference between comfort & normal mode but put it into sport and there is a hell of a change. The suspension firms up a lot but if you really want to notice find a road with some nice twisty bends, then do some spirited driving in comfort and then sport... you will notice the difference in the cornering
  23. If they are like West Mids Air ambulance then I guess they are only used when the helicopter is unable to fly
  24. Last weekend I did just over 600 miles of mostly motorway driving was getting an average of 38 mph, used about a tank & half of petrol (V Power)
  25. Very true hence the reason why I suspect they had 245's. I can't see the NHS paying the extra for them even though they do get them at a discount compared to retail price. No doubt the company names on the side of the cars also provided a good amount of funding as well.
