Connectivity Issues
Our Enyaq has developed a couple of connectivity issues recently. Firstly, since about a week ago, the satnav of the infotainment system seems to think the car is in the water of the North Sea. It just happened whilst we're driving. Secondly, aound the same time, perhaps a few days apart, we have noticed that the MySkoda app cannot connect to the car anymore, even though there's nothing indicating as fault is coming up in the car. We went through the SKODA tech support, who suggested the usual press and release the on button of the infotainment system and clear cache and reinstall software. However, none of these steps worked. They now suggested there are a few things that are malfunctioning but couldn't tell us what they are and suggested we make an appointment with a SKODA garage. That we have done. Has anyone experienced anything like this before and can suggest some underlying problems? The car is 4 years old and we had an active subscription to Skoda connect, would any of the diagnostic and repair cost be covered? Is there anything we can try to address ourselves?

Skoda connect problem
Seems to have stabilised after a few software updates. For the SE, I don't really need it for anything.

Rear view mirror - auto dimming?
Hi, They categorically said that the best they could offer was a good will gesture of some description, but clearly that's not the case. Is this for the new Octavia as well?

Rear view mirror - auto dimming?
Oh no. I have taken some screen grabs for my case but my laptop is in repair at the moment. I can have a look if I managed to capture the info for SEL. This is not likely though IIRC. Sorry if that's the case. Won't they have to admit that they have recently altered the website and that at the time of placing the order, the features you expected were listed?

Rear view mirror - auto dimming?
I would suggest raising a complaint with Skoda UK if there features are listed but have not appeared in the vehicle. Even if they refuse to do anything (as retrofit is not possible for most of these features), it would at least highlight the problem.

Rear view mirror - auto dimming?
That is suppose to, I believe.

Rear view mirror - auto dimming?
Skoda UK's official response was that it was clearly a mistake on the website regarding the autodimming and there's nothing they can do including retrofitting of an autodimming mirror. I asked how a customer was suppose to differentiate what's a mistake and what they are suppose to have in their car and their reply was to just check the order receipt. I am curious if there are other features in the car of other trims that are mentioned on the website?

Skoda connect problem
It is extremely temperamental. The first time I successfully logged in, I had my phone plugged in via the USB and Android Auto activated. I now think that was just a coincidence but you can always give it a try. I recently had a week where the car wouldn't load my profile but the dealership looked into this and informed me that the Skoda Connect server was down. It suddenly worked again one day and now seems to have me logged in every time I go into the car (touch wood). Good luck.

Rear view mirror - auto dimming?
http://assistants.skoda.com.au/#kodiaq From looking at this webpage (albeit for the Kodiaq), it suggests manouever assist is automatic braking when reversing. I think I may have unintentionally activated this yesterday when reversing into my drive but I would not want to test this out again!

Rear view mirror - auto dimming?
Hi, Here is the reply from my local dealer: Sounds like a mistake on the website

Rear view mirror - auto dimming?
Sorry if this seems a really simple question. I have the SE First Edition Estate. The website seems to suggest that it should have auto dimming rear view mirror as part of the interior feature. What is meant by this? My old Fabia's mirror would dim the headlights but the rear mirror in this one only darkens by flicking the switch manually? Is the website incorrect? Have I mistaken what auto-dimming is? Can anyone with the SE confirm the type of rear view mirror that they have please? L

Octavia mk4 hatchback SE First Edition 1.5 Tsi
Had the same problem with 4th when I first got it, either I am used to it and a bit more cautious now or the problem has gone away. I noticed it more during the first 100 miles but have now done 260 and it seems fine. Whilst you're here, would you mind checking out my other thread and tell me what you're able to do in terms of setting up Skoda Connect, as we both have the same level of MkIV?

8.25' infotainment owners - there is an update from Skoda!
Can I ask if that is for the SE? And what sort of issues were you having with Skoda Connect?

PS, my dealer seems equally unsure when I asked them last week.

Data Connectivity and Skoda Connect query on SE First Edition
Hi, Relatively new to the Octavia, so please bear with me. I recently bought the Estate SE and am a bit confused about whether it supports any data connection. As far as I can see, I can't find any settings that would allow me to connect using either my home WiFi when parked at home or my phone. The only Settings option I see is turning the car into a hotspot to allow other device to connect. The reason I am asking is how else am I suppose to set up a user profile if this is not available at this level? I have registered an account and vehicle on Skoda Connect, but every time I tried to "Become Primary User" using the login, I get an "Unable to load user profile" error. I mean, I am okay with not being able to connect because I chose the most basic level and can live with either Bluetooth or Android Auto but it seems like that may be an option. Do I need to purchase a data plug or similar? Thanks.
