  1. Quick update. Installed new pump. Everything working again. Happy Days.
  2. Further to my previous post.... stripped back the wheel arch cowling and, lo-and-behold, there is another pump! Maybe the one to the left is the headlight washer pump. In any case, I checked all fuses again to be sure nothing blown. Nothing blown! Not sure if the RH pump (for the front and back windows) feeds (power wise) to the other pump but at this stage I need go see someone that can test the electrics side and hopefully determine where the problem lies.
  3. Hi Folks. I didn't want to start a new thread, hence the 'reopening' of this old one. I have a 2018 Octavia with LED headlights. I'm having a similar issue with front/rear wipers operating but no water being sprayed (and reservoir has water). I also have headlight washers but not extending/washing etc (I understand the procedure with HL on and only sprays after certain number of pulls etc). The pump is not making a sound. I've checked fuses) and nothing appears faulty. I bought a replacement on-line (googled reg number/make/model as you do) but having gained access behind the wheel arch plastic trim, I could see that the pump installed did not match what I'd bought. Finally tracked down a part number that seems to match the old pump but haven't ordered yet (1J5 955 6512 / URO-001649). I would seem that the existing pump (and the new correct one) only has one 'outlet' for the pipework. Asking before I replace it in case I am missing something. Is there a second/other pump or another part that required? Any and all help and assistance much appreciated. Sean
  4. I’ve no idea what a tyre plan is.... first time seeing such an option...... unless the torque is so “good” it shreds the tyres when you floor the “go” pedal....

  6. I got the same mute issue when also using Google Maps but agree it’s most likely an iOS issue. When I connect now, I get the “home” icons screen on the car radio display so it doesn’t auto launch any apps. Before I disconnect the phone, I also press the home screen button on the display so it’s like that next time I connect. More a workaround that a solution but at least when I launch wave from the screen icon it doesn’t mute at the moment.
  7. Running 14.2 iOS but still an issue. When connected it launches Waze and radio mutes. Have to enable radio as mentioned in first post. Now have it set that it just connects to CarPlay without launching any apps. Radio works (i.e. not being muted). However it then mutes the radio when I launch Waze or Google Maps.....
  8. New iOS 14.1 released so might be sorted.... but I have to wait until my business phone is allowed apply the upgrade before I’ll know.... 👍
  9. Hi folks, I've noticed since that last iOS upgrade (14.x) when I connect my iPhone to CarPlay, it “loses” (or mutes) the radio channel and I have to manually select the radio channel again for sound. Anyone else experiencing this issue? Cheers, Sean
  10. Cheers - now I know where to look....
  11. Hi folks, where/how do I check the various specs for the camera in my FL ‘18 Oct? I get this (photo) in settings....
  12. Went for the 2.0D with DSG again - my previous was a ‘11 Octy with upgraded spec (before it was called the Sportline) which had a upgraded interior , Xenon HL, higher spec radio, lowered susp etc. Was as looking for the 1.5TSI but it wasn’t available with DSG at the time (sorry but no market here in Ireland they said ......!). Of course, 6 months later it was available and also with the virtual cockpit. Now THAT’S an (other) option I would have opted for!! I spent a few extra quid (or should that be euros?!) with extras and wasn’t that bothered with getting alternative wheels at the time.
  13. Sportline variant has been available in Ireland for a number of years - mine is a Jan 18 model. Extras over the top spec Style included 9.2 Columbus which has sat Nav, Hawk 17” wheels, interior ambient lighting, red or grey VRS-style interior (I went with grey), Full LED front and rear lights, and a few other extras. I added full parking, sunroof, heated seats and windscreen and a few extras. Garage added Canton.
  14. Yes indeed. With the saloon the parcel shelf is always closed, but that’s easily remedied. Will check over the weekend.
  15. I bought them from LEDPerf following various good comments on the forum so will see where I might go next to replace them or not. Can’t say I’ve noticed the boot lights (also part of the LEDPerf upgrade) but then I’m not usually “in” the boot to see them working or not (a bit like “does the fridge light stay on when the door is closed...”....) Will keep an an eye on them so to speak.... cheers.
  16. I upgraded the interior lights to LED a number of months ago (following a thread on this forum) and now that the evenings are darker, only noticed this evening that the front and rear interior roof lights are not turning off completely and still “glow” after doors closed, lights appear to turn off and car locked. Would make me think that they are draining the battery, albeit only a small drain due to being LED. Any ideas?
  17. I also added the SportLine decals - they come with the Superb and Kodak SportLine models but for some reason, not on the Octavia. So much bought them from SuperSkoda!
  18. FWIW, my new FL Octavia has dual rear USB sockets - wasn’t expecting them or recall them being part of the build so nice surprise. I use one to feed my iPhone cradle (I’ve routed the cable along the gearbox tunnel panel and behind the dash and popped it out the drivers side dash panel. I probably could have fed it through the vent but didn’t want to start removing panels on the new car!)
  19. Footwell question. I upgraded to LEDs and I like the clean white lights. I have them dialled down to their lowest setting so they dim to this low level when driving. However, due to the better lighting, I don’t like that they are still lit, especially noticeable when on a dark road. Im wondering if there is a setting that would turn them off altogether once timed or driving - similar to the interior overhead lights that dim/turn off after a period? thanks, Sean
  20. Cheers. That worked a treat. Re-ran the scan and no errors showing happy days! Thanks for your help.

  22. Hi folks, i upgraded the interior lights with LEDs (from LedPerf) and I’m now getting the error below (shown in bold) when I scan using OBDeleven. I cleared the error when I first ran the scan after the swap over, but scanned it again the other day and got the error again. Any ideas? More concerned that it IS a problem rather than the car just not recognising then correctly. I did notice that the battery level was “Amber” and wonder8ng if there is some draw on power still occurring? 23. Footwell and Ambient lighting standard on the Sportline spec (Irish spec option). Also full LED headlights. I’ve since upgraded the foot wells to LED (and also the other interior lights and high output boot lights. Some photos of the upgrade - will post more later.
  24. And I thought it as a problem with my 2011 Octavia! Same now with the new 18 car....
