  1. Put in maintenance mode and really gave it some welly.
  2. Wouldn't go in at all. The triangular bit went in and no further. Skoda just slid straight in.
  3. These are the wipers I received. In the comparison image, the two similar are the Bosch. The top one is Skoda.
  4. No, I had the same Bosch reference from Kwik Fit, National, and the Bosch website, searching both by model and by Reg No. Then I bought from Amazon and their checker agreed.
  5. Chattering madly instead of wiping. New ones are fine.
  6. Just wouldnt go on. Clip is of similar design but with several differences. Skoda ones just slotted straight in.
  7. I needed to replace my wipers (2020 Superb iV L&K)and a search on every site I could find, searching by model and Reg No gave the same result. All said the front blades for Mk 3 from2015 to present were the same (Bosch A864S or equivalent), so I bought a set for just under £20. They didnt fit. I went to my local dealer and they looked on their system to find my wipers were a different part number to a 2016 model and took over £50 for a set that worked. When I said they seemed really expensive, the reply was " Yes they are. Difference is that these ones fit"
  8. My previous Superb was a "Director's personal car" which had been used "only for commuting". I negotiated an extra discount when I showed them the Youtube video of the car being tested by a journalist with "Press Office" on the number plate.
  9. Bought from Marshalls, Northampton who said it was the Finance Manager's car. Marshalls in Bedford did the service. May be a tax scam, but list was £42k (I'm hit by the "luxury" rate of VED) and I paid £29.5k.
  10. Sorry. Didn't explain. It was a Skoda manager's company car. I bought it with 7800 on the clock. I've only added 1100 miles in the time I've had it.
  11. Only had the car since end of August, so no rotation.
  12. That's why I was concerned at the low mileage achieved. I normally change at 3mm and after only 8900 miles we're nearly there. Fortunately, I got an offer of 15% discount on 4 tyres, so will be swapping them for Crossclimate 2 in a few days.
  13. I'm a 73 yr old with Rospa Gold and IAM. I don't punish my tyres. However, I'm the second user and the first was a Skoda manager, who put on 7k of the miles, and I've no idea how he drove.
  14. Centre is 3.6. Edges are 4.5 on both front tyres. I asked the engineer if it was over-inflation and he said that it wasn't and was normal wear. I think I'll skip rotating the tyres as I used to have Winter/Summer wheels and more recently Crossclimates. I can't remember the last time I went through the Winter on Summer tyres. (At least 20 years), so I'll just bin them before the end of Nov, and go Crossclimate 2.
  15. I've just had my first service on my Superb iv and have amber warnings for front tyre wear with 3.6mm remaining after 8900 miles. (Rear tyres 5.6mm) The dealer thinks this is quite reasonable but seems a very short tread life to me. Tyre are Bridgestone Turanza T005. Is this normal, or are the OEM tyres just rubbish for tread wear?
  16. Now I have it, I've also found that if you select E Mode, and then hybrid, you can select a minimum battery level. When battery reaches this, it will go full petrol. Setting the level to 100%, forces petrol from the start.
  17. I am picking up my new (to me) Superb iV on Saturday. On Sunday I am going from Bedfoed to the centre of London, so well beyond electric range. Is it possible to force the car into petrol mode, to save the battery for driving in the city?
  18. I had this problem, with the error message coming up intermittently. I spoke to the dealership and booked it in, but the service manager said that if they couldn't identify the fault, they couldn't help. Next time it came up, I stopped and took photographs of the error message. Although the fault cleared, and wasn't showing when they tested the car, they accepted the photographs, and replaced the selector unit under warranty.
  19. Correct. The speedo is over-reading, not under-reading and as you say, that's fine.
  20. Problem here is that it's illegal for the speedo to under-read. It can over-read by up to 10%, but you must never be travelling faster in real life than your speedo indicates.
  21. I have a set of winter tyres on 16" rims from my 2010 Superb SE estate, 2.0 TDI. As far as I can tell, these are not compatible with my 2016 Superb SE L Executive 1.4 TSI ACT. Am I correct in my assumption?
  22. Hi, Good to be here. I'm a long-standing member of a replica watch forum and give grief to newbies who dive in with dumb questions when a search would give the answer. So I will be lurking and reading for a couple of weeks before posting.
  23. Hi. I'm Tom, and I'm a Skoda owner. On my second Superb. First was a Superb 2.0 Diesel estate which I bought 9 months old and ran for 6 years. Couple of months ago I changed to a SEL Executive Hatchback 1.4 TSI ACT. As before, it was 9 months old when I bought it. Skoda sales said it was run by one of the managers as a company car. Changed their mind when I showed them the Youtube video of the road test with Press Office plates on it. I'm a grumpy 70yr old. Rospa Gold and IAM and a volunteer with St John Ambulance. Did 25 years as a first aider, but now hung up my stretcher and am District HR Officer for Bedfordshire and Hertfordshire. Off now to start working out how the forum works. I have a query about winter wheels, but won't bother asking until I've done a lot of searching and reading. Great to have found you guys.
