  1. Hi, can anyone reccomend a decent OBT11 scanner which can unlock features on my Skoda Superb 2.0lt petrol 190bhp SEL?
  2. Just because the vehicle advises you that you have 100% charge doesn't necessarily mean that's the true figure. Just keep that in mind, a better metric to display would be the option to see the actual voltages of each battery pack which makes up what I believe is the 13 Kwh unit. To someone like myself I would much rather see voltages than a % of charge as this would provide me with a great deal more information than a simple % however I understand that these manufacturers need to make things as easy for the 99% to understand. Regards C.
  3. The vehicle has to display a warning ⚠️ sign while charging to attempt to stop you driving away with the locked in cable which would cause a lot of damage so its just logical that whilst charging there will be a warning sign on the display. I have a great deal of experience with lithium ion batteries as well as all lithium batteries and not just in a hobbyist way. Each vehicle will have a battery management system much the same as in anything that utilises lithium type batteries placed their to prevent overcharging as well as an extremely low discharged state. Both of these are not good for these batteries so when you get into your vehicle and it shows 100% or 0% there will be a healthy margin of error built in so your battery pack could charge safety up to say 105% or down to -5%. This is extremely simplified however be assured that a great deal of testing as well as safety margins of error are involved with your cars batteries. Hope this information helps. C.
  4. Fab looking motor, great deal! I am waiting on an Octavia Estate but I'll always love the Fabia it'll always have a spot near my heart!!! C.
  5. Hi, just saying hello as per the rules on forum. I was advised about this forum by a family member who is on here. I am currently awaiting delivery of my new Skoda Octavia Diesel Estate 2.0lt SE Tech. I have a Nissan at the moment, they have a similar site, very helpful people. I have always loved Skodas, ever since my first Fabia vRS back in 2007 which was written off by a foolish women trying an overtake on a straight road in clear sunshine, absolute fool I'll never forget that!!! She hit me head on and destroyed my pride and joy then got offended when I refused to hug her!? She had come off unscathed however I was injured so to add insult to injury she was offended by my refusal of a hug?? Enough about that I must let it go!!;) I am keen to learn the tricks of the trade so to speak and get the most out of my new car hopefully with the assistance of some kindly people on this site. That's me anyway, I am due to get delivery Feb/March 2018 however I keep checking on the build date site as I have my SLI number so I am hoping it will arrive sooner! Thanks in advance for your hospitality and wish you all a happy Christmas!!!
