I'm sure this must have been covered somewhere on here but I can't find anything. I have a water leak into the spare wheel well and suspect the offside tail light. Looked up the owners manual which says that I only need to remove the 2 torx bolts (it says screws!) and then pull the light out towards the rear of the car. I've tried this but it won't budge. Back of the light is free where the bolts were but something seems to be holding the cluster at the front. I'm reluctant to use any force as these things are expensive to replace. Can anybody tell what I'm doing wrong. I've copied the relevant bit from my manual below. Thanks

I just use a couple of bits of carpet remnants under my Grandson's car seat. Works perfectly and cost nothing. Used them for the last 10 years or more in various cars since we started transporting the Grandchildren around. John M

I can do the maths - just didn't think it would be that critical. In any case, the 3 litres was an approximate figure. I got a 6 litres from Aldi a little while ago & simply added slightly more than half of that as I didn't want to overfill it. I added a bit more this morning with no immediate result but later in the day the range figure jumped up to 6500 so at least I know it's working. I'll add the rest of the container now and leave it at that. I was concerned because the only time I've put in Adblue previously (via a filling station pump), the figure changed straight away. The Adblue level on my Superb seems to have been on 5000 miles for a while with an indicated 0.75 gals as the min & max top-up. So today, i poured in 3 litres of the stuff, turned on the ignition for over a minute before switching on but the level hasn't changed. Took the car for a short run to see if that would help but it still shows 5000 miles. Anything I'm missing here? Is there any instances of the level monitor failing? - it's due a service next week so if nothing moves by then, I'll mention it but just worried in case there's something obvious I'm missing. When I bought my Superb, one of the few things which annoyed me was the rear wiper/washer performance. I bought a cheap twin nozzle from Ebay, cut off the tube bit to leave just the head, drilled out the hole to enlarge it enough and stuck that over the existing nozzle (I used some caravan sealant/adhesive which I had handy). It's still not perfect but a vast improvement on the original. John M

I have the same car although a manual version March 2017 model on a 17 plate. I've towed my caravan (mtplm 1500 kg) extensively - last year down to Lake Garda. It has gone up steep hills, steep ferry ramps and on one occasion was forced into a hill start on a steep bit of the Fern Pass in Austria. Biggest problem was stopping the drive wheels from slipping due to the torque forces. I cannot imagine that the auto version would perform much differently and would say there's definitely something wrong with your outfit if you can't get up a modest 6% slope. John M

My wife's Citigo was registered on 30th September 2016 and has the PID, although it wouldn't work when we first got the car. Had to do a full factory reset before it sprang into life. Should have been done by the dealer but they only found the PID on the day we collected the car and we were told it would work OK once it had sufficient charge. Needless to say, it didn't until I hooked it up to the PC and reset it. Also updated the maps from the GPSpower website (see separate thread) John M

As said above, map updates can be got (free) from the GPSPower website. You need to create an account and then search for Navigon maps - these are the maps used by Garmin. Some 2019 maps are available. Once you've downloaded and unpacked them, the folder contains individual maps for each country. Then delete countries that you know you would never use until the files are down to the correct size. You don't need to use Fresh to do this, just plug the PID into your PC/laptop and after taking a backup, delete the old map files and copy the new ones across. The expansion micro-sd card cannot be used to store the maps - only media files. John M

I'm a bit confused by some of the replies to this. My wife has recently bought a Citigo and it's a September 2016 (66 Reg) Colour edition, red with black alloy wheels, etc. But it also has the PID and NOT the phone cradle. Also no LED DRLs - when did the facelift version arrive? John M

I had to create an account on the gpspower website (Google will find it) then search for Navigon maps. Worked OK for me John M

My initial attempt to download the update took over a day and then failed near the end. That was when I realised my fibre connection was running slowly. TalkTalk were no help, so I rebooted the router and the speed jumped back up to around 35 Mbps. Download then took around 2 hours and the unzip a further hour & a bit. I've copied the files onto an SD card which I didn't have available straight after the download but haven't had the chance to put it into the car as I'm currently confined to base with a heavy cold. Worked OK last time I tried this, though, so not expecting any problems with the update. I really can't understand why the download is so big. My Garmin Camper satnav Europe maps are around 2 Gb - a tenth of the size of the Skoda/VW files, although to be fair, they are advertised as "Western Europe". I'm unlikely ever to travel to many of the countries on the Skoda maps. John M

+1 (but we have a Citigo & Superb - I assume a Fabia has Bluetooth as well?) My phone is a Honor, made by Huawei. SWMBO has a Samsung, both work fine. John M

Just to balance this out a bit, we have just bought a 2 year old Citigo from Pulman Skoda in Durham. Generally speaking, we were treated very well and felt that we got a fair deal. However, there were some things that could have been better, so I emailed the Sales Manager with some constructive criticism. Within 15 minutes, he phoned me and went out of his way to put things right. Most impressed as this certainly wasn't a high value deal but Pulman ( a family firm) claimed to have good customer service and they certainly have tried to live up to that claim. John M

We've just added a 2016 Citigo Colour edition to our family fleet which came with the PID satnav attachment. However the maps have never been updated and are very old - older than the car by the looks of things. I've downloaded Fresh & managed to get the unit working after a struggle but Garmin want £55 to update the maps. However this is a full Europe download which we'll never need - there's no option just to get the UK bit. The satnav won't be used very often, so I'm a bit reluctant to commit to such a large expenditure. After a search on here it would seem that there's a way to update the map for free using some form of Open maps but there's no detail on how it's done. I've tried using Google but have not been able to understand what is required despite being reasonably comfortable with IT matters. Can any body confirm that this can be done and if so, provide some info on what to do? John M

My car was 9 months old when I bought it and I had this fault earlier this year when the car had covered around 10,000 miles. Dealer had it fixed under warranty - no arguments even though it had to go to another local dealer as mine didn't have the necessary equipment. Two months later, while on holiday in Germany, it went off again while driving in slow traffic on the Autobahn. After two more days, it just as mysteriously started working again while driving at speed on the Belgian Autoroute. It's been OK ever since. It seems to be something of a lottery. Although I could survive without the adaptive option, I wouldn't want to lose Cruise Control and if this fault occurs, it shuts down the whole Cruise Control system which is doubly annoying John M

I've got an Honor 9 Lite and I'm delighted with it. Does everything I need - quick, decent camera and screen looks OK to me. 160 GBP, so didn't break the bank either. John M

No - checked the sensor when we stopped and gave it a good polish (although no obvious marks, etc) but wouldn't work. Just started to work again all on its own. I like the ACC but I'm not at all happy about the apparent fragility of the system. John M

I don't see how they can refuse a warranty claim. Mine was recalibrated free of charge (my car was 6 months old when I bought it and was used as the personal transport of the dealer principal) . In any case, I don't think it matters what Skoda say. Your contract is with the dealer and having owned the car for such a short period, the onus is on them to put it right. Consult your local Citizens Advice if the dealer refuses to play ball as such a major problem should not occur so soon in the life of an expensive car. As it happens, while on holiday recently, my ACC suddenly stopped working again while driving along the Autobahn in Germany. No apparent reason and certainly no impact. Two days later, while driving along the Autoroute in Belgium, it just as suddenly decided to start working again and has been OK since. I haven't reported this to my dealer and I think that perhaps I should. John M

I've had aftermarket towbars fitted to all my cars over the years and never had a problem. My view is that specialist fitters do this kind of job all the time to all makes of cars whereas dealer technicians will fit very rarely (assuming they don't contract out - which most do). When I bought my current car, the dealer actually advised me to go directly to the specialist they use as it would be cheaper and quicker. This car has the Westfalia A40V detachable with dedicated electrics and they work fine. When detached, there's no sign of the towbar or socket but the downside is that it's a hands and knees job to actually fit and detach through the bumper cutout. Clipping off the breakaway cable I have found particularly challenging but this would be the same whoever fitted the towbar. John M

Thanks. We killed a few flies on the journey, but I'm not aware of anything substantial hitting the sensor and there are no marks. It just appeared to stop working. Appointment fixed for Monday, so hopefully all will be well after that. I like the ACC! John M

I've got the opposite problem. Last week, on a journey, got a fault message flash up telling me the Front Assist and ACC were not available. Lovely sunny day, no muck on sensor. Took it into my dealer today who tell me they can't fix it. Apparently needs to be recalibrated and a large white wall is essential - which they haven't got. So now trying to fix an appointment with another dealer who will need the car for 2 days!. Only just a year old - is this a common problem or have I just been unlucky? John M
