Me too -seems like a common problem with no easy fix.

Replacing lower front grille
Is it possible to replace the lower front grille without taking off the front bumper? I've looked at the guides on removing the front bumper and they just show the lower front grille as if it was an integral part of the front bumper. You can buy the grille and its two side vents as spare parts, but I can't find anything that describes how they are fitted. I'd guess they just clip in, like the main grille, but does anyone know for sure? I just hit a stationary pheasant standing in the middle of the M4, so the left side of the lower grille has been replaced by feathers.

VAG Bluetooth, microphones and after market headunits
If anyone is interested, previous threads referred to a my-gti thread which is no longer available. It can be accessed here though https://web.archive.org/web/20191110094349/http://www.my-gti.com/1234/volkswagen-rns-510-microphone-connection-for-voice-control

VAG Bluetooth, microphones and after market headunits
Thanks everyone. I found another thread on here It appears there are two wiring looms. If you have voice control the mike goes to the Columbus then out the Columbus to BT (as langers2k says), but if you don't the mike is wired direct to BT. Given the age of my car I'd guess I've got the latter.

VAG Bluetooth, microphones and after market headunits
There are no unused wires behind the headunit and there is an adaptor loom, so if the original mike is wired into the quadlock then the headunit can use it or, as you say, the headunit might ignore it. I asked about the bluetooth under the seat as I believe that the mike may be wired directly to that instead. I haven't been able to locate a wiring diagram to find out though. There was one on a VAG Golf site, but the image is now unavailable. If the mike is wired to the bluetooth unit though, disabling the factory bluetooth will likely mean that it won't then be available to any headunit that is fitted, whether it be a Columbus or after market unit. So I still need to know whether the standard factory install wires the mike to the quadlock or the bluetooth unit.

VAG Bluetooth, microphones and after market headunits
My Superb came with an after market Android headunit as the original Columbus had failed and was replaced by the dealer I bought it from. The replacement headunit comes with bluetooth phone integration, but the car still has the original VAG bluetooth system installed under the drivers seat. What I'm confused about is whether the internal original fit microphone is still active. Is it connected directly to the quadlock connector that plugs into the headunit? Is it connected to the VAG bluetooth unit under the seat? Is there a microphone connection between the under seat VAG bluetooth unit and the head unit quadlock? If I knew where the internal microphone connection in the overhead light module went I could connect it directly to the current android headunit, but at present I have no idea if it is being used or not and what it is at present connected to. The Android headunit has a built-in mike and an input for an external mike. It does connect to my phone and I do receive phone calls through it though it is probably using the headunit's own internal mike. As far as I'm aware the VCDS programming hasn't been changed at all, so the car knows the VAG bluetooth is present and is giving errors as it is failing to find the Columbus. Anybody understand how this works and if I can get the Skoda mike working with the new headunit?
