I do a about 800 miles a week and average about 56 mpg that’s mixed town motorway .I do not charge at home yet as it’s a company car so use hybrid mode to keep the battery’s at about 75% for when I drive in london.

I tried this this morning and it starts to update then stops and says unable to read files.

That's not true , if yours is a MY18 with a Skoda connect account you can track the location on your app using the inbuilt SIM on the car. Open the app go to my vehicle and select parking position, should work as long as the car has a signal , it does not need to be connected to a phone for the internet to get its position.

Now saying next update August 2018 was June for next map update.

I think he said he used the connect portal and there is no option to add a warning , only by using the VW site can you add a warning.

I was told by Skoda head office it was €70 for the infotainment ,traffic petrol etc and €60 for the Remote access for the second year.

No it’s not an optical illusion, the left side is fine but the right side is not level I think the boot is a little high on the right.

I love my Quartz Grey but probably would have gone with Petrol Blue given the choice.

I don't know if you have the radio on DAB or FM makes a difference as previous cars have picked up the time through RDS and I don't think DAB transmits that.

I bought a 4 month old Insignia bi turbo with 3k from GM, seems they only keep there company cars 4 months then they get a shiny new one, perhaps it’s the same with VW/Skoda.

Don't think you can have traffic in split screen, only way to see traffic and map is to select traffic icon.

Lights in during the day are not a problem because it's light, no lights on in the evening is because it's dark. Also why do people not put lights on when it's raining it's called adverse weather conditions. Sorry that's my pet hate.

I think it is the left headlight and right headlight not LHD/RHD.

I had this on Tuesday and just enabled private mode then disabled it all ok, then got a message from Skoda to say privacy had been switched on then off.

I think you need to follow the Personalization to assigne the key to your settings.

Not sure the chancellor can change things retrospectively, the changes this year are for cars registered after the 1st of April and do not apply to cars registered before this date. My BIK for my SEL rises £1500 over the 3 years of the lease.

The only problem with this is the high cost to the company, the lease prices are very expensive for Hybrids i know my company looked into it as i work in London often but found the lease prices at the moment to expensive. They have kept with Diesel cars for now as i do 25k a year as it still works out cheaper,perhaps in 3 years time after this lease has run out they will go Hybrid,but for now i will just have to put up wither higher tax.

Also why don't all cars have auto lights by law, so many cars now drive around with no lights on because they have LED running lights and light up dashes so the think there lights are on.

Evidently Android 8.0 disabled a lot of these apps,I think Tasker works at an almost Root level to enable it, I had to get the tethering plug in for it but it works ok just takes about 20 seconds after I get in the car to get the WLAN and white globe on the Columbus.

I thought it was standard with the Columbus but when I looked at the July 2017 prices and specs brochure it shows it as an option where as the January 2018 it shows it as standard, can’t find another brochure in between these dates. The lease company told my company the car was being built in January so I thought I was ok but in fact it was built on the 27th of September so no sim slot. I have it auto tethering and connecting at the moment but who knows what will happen when android is updated again. I have not spoken to Skoda as it’s a company car but have asked my manager to speak to the lease company.

I am still on 8.0 on a HTC 10, hopefully they will update it so you can use it again. Did you use the tethering plug in seems new ?

Hi JR RS, I updated the maps and associated software yesterday and now it connects quicker, the WLAN is displayed after about 15 seconds now, have not had much opportunity to test it as we have just had another 6 inches of snow today. Just in case your phone if android updates to android 8.0 most of the tethering apps won’t work anymore I have had to use an app called Tasker with a plug in that work well.
